  • How can I remove the items displayed in the notification area?

    Original title: notification area

use windows 7. I deleted the files in the registry. in customize taskbar area display files that have been deleted.  How can I delete?

I just got a computer repair. For this purpose, the date of repair was the date of the restoration. I had deleted this file in the registry. Only the icon appears in the notification area. I've hidden the icon in the notification area and stop computer. After a reboot, the icon does not appear. I hope that it is now removed and not only hidden. in all cases, the icon refers to an empty file.

    Thanks for your suggestion

  • The Volume control icon is not displayed in the Notification area of the taskbar. The settings in the property window button has grayed out Volume option.

This has happened several times randomly.  Also, it is the case for setting power and network options. Several times the parameters
become operational, to restart windows.  But this time the Volume adjustment control screen remains dimmed out and correlatively
    the icon is not, either.
Mine is windows Vista Home Premium edition.
Would be very grateful if anyone help out me.

  • The notification area: Volume control freezes

In the properties of the taskbar and Start Menu, the Volume/clock/network and power supply are checked to show in the notification area.  Sometimes, Windows Explorer stops responding and when it is restarted, the volume and network icons are missing from the notification area.  I can run a registry fix and sometimes retrieve the icons, other times I have to reboot to get them back (I can't get back them via the properties because they are gray).  Sometimes, only the volume control stops working.  Once again, I can sometimes get the volume control work by launching a registry fix.

Now, here is the solution I found.  If I go into the properties of the taskbar (notification area) and uncheck CLOCK, my volume control never a problem, not Windows Explorer stops working.  I can run for days without any problem of Volume or Windows Explorer.

But as soon as I'm back at the helm of the properties and turn the CLOCK on in the taskbar, my volume and Windows Explorer problems all over again.

I've renamed TIMEDATE. The CPL and the system re-create it.  The size is 698 kb (714 240 bytes).  It is identical to the one I've renamed.

Is this a known problem and is there a solution?  I'm just short without the date and time displayed in the notification area to avoid the problem, but VISTA should not have this problem.

I'm closing this.  I think I have a problem with Firefox.  Uninstalling Firefox results in days that I can run without any problem.  Firefox reinstallation the problem to reappear.  Especially, when I close Firefox, the process is still running and the parent.lock file is not deleted.  I have to restart (the icons disappear after reboot), delete the parent.lock and then restore the icons, but updating the registry (TRAYNOTIFY).  So I restart Firefox until the next shot.  I think I'll start fresh (this isn't my main PC)

  • Vista will not display the network icon in the Notification area.

IM my notification area network icon disappeared, and when I go to the right click > properties > Notification area to try to solve this problem, the check box on the notification tab, because the network is grayed and I can't click on it.  Vista has done this before with the icon of power, but it seemed to resolve itself. It has been a few days and a few reboots now, however, and the problem persists. What can I do to try to solve this problem?

How to reset the Cache Notification Area icons in Windows 7 and Vista

  • Unidentifiable caution in Vista notification area icon

An icon that I've never seen elsewhere appeared today in my notification area. It is typical of the warning icons: a yellow triangle with a black exclamation mark in it. Unlike any other area notification icons, there is no ToolTip when I go over it, and nothing happens when I click on it (left or right). I looked on the tab Notification area of the taskbar and Start Menu Properties dialog box, and under the icons customize Notification area, it shows as .

How do I know what this icon, it's a problem and how to remove it (if, indeed, it should be removed)?

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 2; Norton Internet Security 17.5.0.127 version and Lavasoft Ad-Aware Plus anti-spyware version 8.1.4 software. I have not recently installed new software.

I closed my computer and when I restarted it, the icon had disappeared from the notification area. I checked customize icons in Notification area on the tab area of Notification in the taskbar and Start Menu Properties dialog box, and the icon did not show in the list of recent issues. I hope this means that the problem is resolved for now, but in case he returns, I was still interested if someone can give me information on what it could be.

    1. click on start.

    2. in the start menu search bar type regedit, and then on enter.
