Vista knows new hardware installed, but I can not use

Hi and I really hope that someone can help me!

I installed a Station of Sata USB host that contains a Western Digital HDD.  As soon as plugged & lit shows the icon remove the device safely in the lower right.  I went into the Control Panel/Device Manager and it manifests under disk drives.  When I click right-properties - general he said: if it works correctly and the Volumes tab when I click Populate status: online and ability to reason.  I tried to update driver, but have a more day-21/06/2006.

I can't find any way to read or write in this USB key (which contains the files on it) and searched for hours for a solution and can't seem to find a.  The box for the docking station indicates Windows 2000, XP & Vista-compatible.  I am running Vista Home Basic.

When I open computer it shows that my internal drive... Please help me try to fix this and thank you in advance.

Hello KBS406,

If you are able to boot up to this point, you should be able to do the repair install of XP from the disk.  I do not recommend to change these files, unless you are familiar with this process.  If you please you would follow with me on this, I'd be very happy.
