Vista license rubbed off the bottom of the netbook.

Long story short, I was able to recover the key to home premium 32-bit to vista with jelly beans, but when I try to activate this key, it gives me the error 0XC004E003 code.

The tag under the netbook rubbed off so I can't copy. I made sure that I copied the key correctly but no luck.

I don't want to pay $50 for phone support or even $15 for the recovery disc (like the one on the partition does not) because it is a legitimate question and not a joke to mark a free window (more wouldn't you want to get windows 7 anyway?)

Please help me I have 29 days left.

Thank you for your help.

    Option 1:

If the COA sticker is damaged, you must use the recovery partition to reinstall Windows 7, it will be exempt from the need to use the product key to activate your installation of Windows 7.

    Option 2:

If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling. This will exempt the need to also use the product key.

    Option 3:

If neither options 1 or 2 is possible, then you will need to invest in a new license of full version of detail.

  • I can, t find my serail number its rubbed off the coast in the years

It is in any case I can find my serail number I have a windows vista home basic laptop

    Hello

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.

The methods above do normally not require product key that has rubbed off.

The recovery process should include the auto Activation using the factory installation product key, in collaboration with the material.

Hi there, I would really appreciate how I can recover my windows product key since it has rubbed off the bottom of my laptop and I would like to replace the hard drive and create a boot disk... Please can anyone help with what I can do to get my product key for HP.

Windows 7 64 bit Home Pro

    Hello

Unfortunately, there is no way to recover your Windows COA key - neither HP or Microsoft will have any record of it.

However, if you use recovery discs for your laptop, they will not require the key to the COA and will activate automatically.

If you wish, you can order a set of replacement recovery disks using the link below.

    Order HP recovery disks.

If you have a problem with this link, order them directly from HP.

  • Sticker license Vista slowly disappears from the Satellite L300D-148

... from the back of the laptop. I hope you know what I mean.

The Vista license sticker on the back of my L300D-148 is due to normal use slowly "vanishing", some letters are not legible more, but the license key itself is still.

I can remove the sticker by myself to protect it from the damage or what I lose my guarantee that?

I hope you can help out me.

    Kind regards

    Rantanplan

    Hello

Of course, you can remove this sticker if you wish. This should not affect the warranty.
    But just note buddy;
This serial key cannot be used in other Vista operating systems.
This serial key belongs to the image of Toshiba Vista preinstalled, which belongs to the OEM license.

    Good bye

  • Windows 7 using the Vista license

the answer is no. you will need to purchase a license.

  • Cannot delete mp4 in windows vista, even after changing the property.

    Hello

I tried all the methods in the solution given in windows vista to remove off the mp4 files from destop. but each time, he said the necessary authorization.

I had changed the security for the property for full control rights. but always impossible.

can you please advice me how to do?

    Hi oscarpooh,

This only happens with MP4 files?

The following could prevent you from deleting the file.

Ø if you do not have the adequate rights for a file or folder, you cannot remove it.

O if not create you the file, you may not be able to delete it, even if it appears in the Public folder. If this is the case, you must ask the owner of the file to delete.

O in addition, you cannot remove a file (or the folder that contains it) if the file is currently open in a program. Make sure that the file is not open in any program, and then try again to delete the file.

    Why can't I delete a file or a folder?

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/why-cant-I-delete-a-file-or-folder

I suggest you try the following steps:

Ensure that you do not play the file when you try to remove it.

Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode and then try to remove

Start the computer in safe mode, to do this, follow the steps below,

Access the menu advanced startup options by turning on your computer and pressing the button F8 before Windows starts. In the advanced startup options select safe mode

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

Step 2: The corruption of the file system prevents access to the file

You will not be able to delete the file if the file system is damaged. To resolve this problem, run the Chkdsk utility on the disk volume to correct any errors.

Run the disk check to repair bad sectors on the hard disk.

    a. Click Start, in the start search bar type cmd, right-click on the command prompt icon in the box programs and then click Run as administrator.

    b. at the command prompt, type chkdsk /f and then press ENTER.

    Now, type chkdsk/r

Note: CHKDSK would attempt to recover bad sectors on the hard disk, in the course of this process there are chances of DATA loss from that particular area.

  • The serial number on the bottom of my laptop has been rubbed off. I can find it somewhere in the system?

    Original title: my serial number

The serial number on the bottom of my laptop has been rubbed off.  I can find it somewhere in the system?

    Hello

If the operating system is preinstalled, as it appears as the product key sticker was on the bottom of the laptop, NO, you will not find a product key that you can use for any purpose useful in your system.

The only product key you would find in your system is the manufacturer factory Installation product key that is used for multiple facilities only during the original production.

If you want to reinstall the operating system, contact the manufacturer and ask him either send you recovery disks to reinstall the operating system, what they should do for a small cost and also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your laptop to do the same thing, which is to reinstall the operating system.

None of these methods relocation normally requires that you insert a product key when reinstalling.

    See you soon.

p.s., serial number (SN: xxxxx) is to do with the identification number to the manufacturer if you ever contact them so that they can search for details of your laptop and there's nothing to do with the product key.

  • What can I do if I can't read that the key is for Windows because of the part of the key on the sticker has rubbed off and must be re-installed Windows?

The key to Windows inlegible sticker, want to reinstall windows

What can I do if I can't read that the key is for Windows because of the part of the key on the sticker has rubbed off and must be re-installed Windows?  The product ID is located under the control panel > system maintenance > system > Windows Activation of a useful?  I don't want to end up with a Clipboard after that reinstalling Windows because I have a legitimate copy of Windows, but the key became disfigured over time, since it's on the bottom of the laptop.  I have Windows Vista Home Premium SP 2 running on a Dell Inspiron it's way outside the guarantee of its window.

    Thank you!

    Hello

If you have a product key on a sticker in your computer, this means that you have an OEM product key. If you have OEM keys, this means that the windows you have here is preinstalled.

If you reinstall windows OEM copy, you must use either the original manufacturer recovery disk or the recovery partition. If you use one of the people, should not be put to any start-up because the windows OEM versions are technically preactivated.

If you don't have a disc or a recovery partition, you can contact your OEM (DELL) so that they can send you a disk. Alternatively, you can contact Microsoft Support just in case. : D

  • Turn off the tap to click on Dell Inspiron 1525 with Windows Vista

Can someone tell me how to disable "tap to click" on the touchpad of my laptop?

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525, running Windows Vista.  It's the standard touchpad I mind, it has not been upgraded.

Other forums have suggested to go to the control panel > hardware and sound > mouse, but once I'm there, I only "buttons," "Pointers," "Pointer Options" and "hardware".  There is no option to disable "Tap to click" referred to one of them.

I've updated all the drivers - Windows tells me I have the latest version, if this doesn't fix the problem.

My hands are too big to type without hitting the touchpad!  So frustrating.  I accidentally moved my slider three times during the composition of this post.  Someone help me please!  That's four times now.

    I thought about it!

Under computer > C: > drivers > entry > R176423, I ran DPInst.  He installed the Dell Touchpad option in my taskbar to bottom left.  After the reboot, I was able to open a more in-depth version of my touchpad, where I could uncheck "Tap to click".  _ Yes!

Thanks for all your help, man.  I really appreciate it.  It's really a positive manifestation of the human condition when the volunteers their expertise selflessly to help others.  Keep up the good work, and I hope that this thread will stay up to help someone else in the future.
