  • SYSTEM RESTORE! NEEED HELP! All the restore points went :(

    I have an Acer Aspire 7730 running Windows Vista and I need help. An attempt to clear up space, I delete my restore points. I decided a few days later I want to restore to an earlier date; Guess who has no conservation is only 27 minutes ago! : D I need to know how to create a new set to ANY point in time restore point. Or at least when I first took it out of the box. Please help? : S

    You cannot use system restore to factory settings.

    And you can not create a Restore Point for yesterday today.

    Restore of yesterday point had to be made, so that you could come back today.

    You must use one of the methods below to return to the factory settings.

    How to get Vista recovery Media and/or to use the Vista recovery Partition on your computer.

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    https://secure.TX.Acer.com/rcdb/main.aspx?brand=Acer

    Contact Acer at the link above and ask them to send you a set of recovery Vista disc/s.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11, and Acer is normally Alt + F10 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Ask them if you can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

    They will tell you how to do this.

    Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
  • How can I see all the restore points?
    I have Vista and my system has become unstable - black screen and no reply until I turn off computer with switch. I decided to do a restore. Come to the window to restore the system, but only two show Restore Points - yesterday and day before. But the system has been bad for a week or more. How to see the previous Restore Points? C: has 42 GB of free, so there is plenty of room. I had the computer a few years and remember the definition of the prior restore points and have recently added programs.
    "But the system has been bad for the week or more.
    I don't know what caused your original problems; not only the problems of SR.
    They are probably related.
    Run the SFC Scan:
    "How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the files on system missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7"
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833
    If your problems persist, you can borrow a DVD of visits of Microsoft, not the manufacturer's recovery disc and try a repair installation:
    "How to perform a repair for Vista Installation"
    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/88236-repair-install-Vista.html
    I say not that the above will fix your missing points of the SR, but it can solve your problems of global system and get SR working properly for future needs.
  • Dates of the Restore Points are one month in advance
    For reasons I don't understand, the date of the day on my computer was changed to one month before the effective date, for example from May 13 to June 13, 2013. As a specialist, I kept getting messages that my Microsoft Security Essentials were outdated. Later, I discovered that all the restore points created after May 13 are dated June 13. I corrected the date and have updated Security Essentials and things are back to normal, but I have several restore points, a month in advance. Restore recent points are correctly dated now, but what can I do on these wrong, before the restore points. Thank you.
    If the pc works fine, then 2 options:
    1 turn off the system restore, which will remove all items, reboot, restart System Restore, and a system checkpoint will be created.
    2. go to disk cleanup, use the tab options, System Restore, cleanup, it will erase everything but the last system restore points.
    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
