VMRC permissions Voodoo - limitation of the ad group and folder VM-based Console access

We are allowing access to their virtual machine using VMRC console administrators. Our Unix administrators get access to their virtual machines and the same Windows administrators, but they should not be able to access each of the other consoles.

We have implemented a 'VMRC Console' role and allowed only 'Interaction of virtual Interaction/Console machine' for this role. When we apply this role to the user group AD for Unix (for example) administrators on the ESXi host objects, they are not able to connect unless we put the option spread. When we do this, they now have access to all THE consoles, not just them.  As soon as uncheck us spread it, they can see their VM once again, but cannot access the console.

What is the secret sauce here to limit them to their own consoles? I can see why this is happening, but I was hoping that the VM folder permissions would have limited their access. Apparently the host permissions override the VM folder permissions (and this is not surprising, really).

There is currently no provision for limiting access to a single console you want. Work is ongoing at this address in a future version with changes in vSphere, ESXi/etc. and VMRC.

  • Enter the user groups and privileges in labVIEW

    Hey Gang,

We are developing an application in LV 2010 where we need to control user access to the parts of the application.  This application will be installed on about 50 machines.  It dept can assign users to one or more of the three special groups to manage permissions through Windows.  I need to be able to read what the current user belongs to groups by programming LabVIEW.  I know that this can be done in Teststand, but we do not use that.

I know how to get the user name of the application object, but we have to manage our own list of privileges on the network somewhere and we do not want to do that.

I saw here in the DevZone that someone posted a DLL that return a Boolean value if the user is an administrator, and who has come close, but do not do.

I hope that we don't need to dig into the programming to do this Windows System.  It seems that someone would have done this before.

    Any help is appreciated!

  • Cisco Unity Connection (CUC) - import LDAP user based on the security group and then assign a model

Need to CUC automatically import users and assign a certain user or role model if they are added to a specific security group. (These are the help desk users).  Username admin accounts they will use to sign in CUC differs from that there windows account that is linked to their profile of voicemail.

Current - now we must import new recruits and assign the correct model

Want - when a user is added to a security group in AD, so when CUC doing his nightly sync, it automatically import user and assign a preconfigured for the account and all user model is automatic and I have never import it back these users.

At the present time the course help desk users are already imported via LDAP and have the role that was.

    Suggestions?

Not something that the UCA can do out of the box.

The UCC does not offer, is to do the LDAP synchronization and once they are in CUC, to import, choose the model.

  • Portal Page, the Page groups and access - AUDIT

    Hi all

I have a client who has an Intranet Portal that contains hundreds of pages with different conditions of access.

They would like their portal, checking that they are planning to give it an overhaul and erase all old pages.

A list of information they would like to include:
    (1) a list of all current pages (possibly showing the hierarchy),
    (2) a list of the user who has access to each page
    (3) the last time a page has been visited and possibly some stats on how many times she visited

Is there a way to get this type of audit information? This functionality is provided in the portal?

I leaned on these forums - people have asked the same questions, but it doesn't seem to be an answer.

I have no idea where to start, so any information would be appreciated!

    Amanda.

    Hi Amanda,.

For such a solution, you need to use several sources and write a custom solution. and to be honest with you, generally, it is not inclined to simply publish or State all these scripts custom in public forums. However, for works custom / advanced for a smart developer, a set of indicators should be enough.

you will need to write scripts to run on your pages to collect the data you are looking for.
You can get the list of pages in a number of ways. including using wwsbr_api. or just go and extract from the table wwpob_page$.

to search for access privileges, you can discover the use of this table: portal.wwsec_sys_priv$
    for example;
Select the separate name of portal.wwsec_sys_priv$ where object_type_name = 'PAGE '.
Please see this note. [311982.1 ID]

for usage statistics, Portal 10.1.4 offers a performance monitoring tool. you order it and then can get statistics on how many times those that have been visited. You can search in the Portal performance analysis oracle documentation.

    hope that helps!

  • Two screen question: Control Panel appears on the screen 1 but the mouse is on the screen 2 and so I can't access

I have a Sony Vaio laptop connected to a stand alone monitor. I don't use the laptop screen unless there is a problem and then I had to alternate between the two screens using Fn F7 key.

A problem has occurred with the rundll32 process (which I'm trying to fix separately) and this led to the PC automatically flicking between screens and then stick with the independent monitor but in low resolution (so I couldn't access the tool bar along the bottom).

I went to control panel to change the resolution to high, but the question of rundll32 kept close the process.

This left me with icons on the desktop of the monitor stand alone, a white color on the laptop screen (it is normally black) and the ease of Fn F7 does not (said the service is not available).

When I click on Control Panel on the screen of stand alone, it opens on the screen of the laptop, but I can't access it because the function of the mouse is on the screen to stand alone.

Can someone help before I go out drinking?

    Thanks, Temp.

I seem to have solved the problem. It seems that display order has been reversed and so I just had to move the mouse to the right of the screen to stand alone (I had been pushing against the left hand side) to move on the screen of the laptop. From there on, I played a bit with the display settings in the control panel and, although the issue of the always kept dllrun32 throw me out, seems to be back on the screen of stand-alone only, with the correct resolution and the Fn f7 works again. This means I can put the top back on bottle of vodka, at least until the next issue of dllrun32 arises.

  • BlackBerry Q5 What is the 'protected_media' file and why can't I access it?

I went to file manager and saw a folder called 'protected_media '. Trying to open it gives me a "record not available: you don't have permission to access this folder" message. Why do I have this folder, and why I can't access it?

In addition, what is the "miscellaneous"? Why have a folder inside called "android"? Why can I go/misc/android/DCIM/camera and find copies of what is in the file/device? Delete "misc" without messing anything?

They said that with the ghost Commander you can open it but I do not use or install it ever cause depends on what you use. If you really want to put the files here you can do with the Commander gost and since this post is old enough, if you found nothing more useful to open it with or without any application you are happy to include it. Thank you.

  • Inspiron 3452: free space via the removal of the apps.ppkg and folder C:\Recovery?

On my Inspiron 3452, I could remove C:\Recovery to increase disk space, with ill effects in operation.  I felt if I need to reinstall windows, the USB thumbdrive backup I created was enough.

This folder contains the "Apps.ppkg" package file in the subfolder of customizations of provisioning, size 3 575 529 KB.  I saved the C:\Recovery to a USB key, just in case I wanted to restore it.

Well, I don't have reinstall it from the USB.  Now I find when I try to delete the folder C:\Recovery, I can't do it because of the Apps.ppkg 'used by the system.  When I did go to a command line in the recovery WRE environment, I lost the Bluetooth FTP device icon in 'This PC', which became a white icon and was not functional.  It seems that the content of the file is now used by Win 10 'live '.

Copy the file to the computer and rebooting makes the back icon.  I'm not investigating any other ill effects.

My question is: is it possible to isolate the apps.ppkg of using the OS file and delete it in order to release once more space on the 32 GB without sequela MEM?

    I used this:

    1 make a recovery disk

    2. start in recovery drive

    3. Select command line

    4 navigate in C: drive

    5 Del apps.ppkg

I have not seen a negative effect (yet). If I do, I have the recovery disk.

    I hope this helps.

  • Size limits for the parameter SQLITE and file saving for the playbook

It is partly linked to another of my posts, but isn't quite a duplcate. Thanks for bearing with me.

Is there a size limit when passing a string as a parameter to an INSERT of SQLITE order? I get the transaction do not return not whatever it is, the error / success / otherwise, when I pass a string as a massive paremeters (> 50 KB).

The docs for SQLITE suggest that this should not be a problem.

As an alternative, we can save files of text in memory of the playbook, and reference them in the database. This would allow us to work around the problem?

As always, thanks for the help.

The answer to the question was the .substring (0,1000000) to add at the end of my chain. This gave me the output of 1000000 of characters which is ample. I'm guessing that this better prepare the string and removed something improper.

Has had a few tries but that's it.
