  To open the file in.doc format, you need Microsoft Word or any other compatible application. Adobe Acrobat Reader DC app does not open Doc of PDF files.

• Restoration of secondary drives that are not not in my computer after XP

  After the restoration of XP MCE 2002 SP3, my secondary drives are not listed under my computer.  They show in the management of disk as disk 1 and disk 2.  Both have the following status in disk management: Basic, online healthy (active).  When I right click on disk 1 or disk 2 the only option is to 'Delete Partition '.  I saved my data files on these disks before you restore XP (in C :).  How XP to assign the drive letters on these discs and to recognize in my computer without risking the data that is on it?  Thank you!

  I don't know why or how, but now my secondary data disks have drive letters and are listed in Explorer / my computer.  I tried to use PartiionMagic of Norton, but that provides no way to assign drive letters.  It's probably a coincidence, but I've also reinstalled Norton GoBack, although I disabled it immediately to run PartitionMagic.  The key is that I have now both of my back of data disks and I am on my way to restore my data!  YES!

  When we look at the available disk space on any partition C you must take into account all the partitions and you did not provide the information necessary to conduct a review. Please provide a copy of your system information file. Type system information in the search box above the Start button and press ENTER. Select file, Export and give the file a name noting where it is located. Please download your disk from sky to share with everyone and post a link here. Please say if the report was obtained in safe mode.

• Static drive letters are not retained when you restart

  I assign drive letters static for two CD-ROM drives on my system - v and w:

  Whenever the system is restarted, it 'forgets' static CD-ROM drive letters and assigns its own, which means an external HARD drive gets the wrong letter of drive and screw to the top of my backup arrangements.

  It started in the last few weeks, although I'm not sure what I did to make it.  The system is Windows XP Home SP3, kept up to date, including the last batch of August 2010 patches.

  I had a Windows startup internal defective HARD drive about a month ago, I replaced after the cloning of one defective on the new drive.

  Change drive letter must be done in diskmgmt.msc in msc, L.click

  on a disc, go to actions, all, select 'Change the letter of the drive/path', change the letter...

  However, don't forget that xp by default uses "D" as his letter for any installation cdrom.

• Drive bar are not to publish

  I built a few screens of sample for an Adobe Captivate 6 project that I'm trying. The bar of the custom player worked until I added some questions multiple choice. And after that I put to publish on HTML5.

  I can't get the Player bar to reappear even after unchecking publish on HTML5. Is there some conflict with the quiz questions? Of the Player bar does not appear on any screen, even the non-interactive screens. Is there an obvious reason, it does not work? When I open the skin Editor, the Player bar options are all greyed out.

  If your quiz question slides are questions before the test, then it would explain why your reading bar disappeared and the skin editor options are grayed out.  That's how before the test questions are designed to work.  If you did not intend using questions before the test plus a quiz, delete the quiz questions, you have already inserted and insert new, but this time leave the type of question as noted.

• WIRELESS MOUSE NOT WORKING - MSG I GET: Windows Update configured to never install drivers. The driver updates are not installed automatically when detected by Windows updates.

  My laptop does not recognize my wireless mouse more and this is the msg I get when I solve the problem.  I uninstalled Windows 6.1 and installed an update of Windows which was supposed to solve this exact problem, including the problem that started the same thing of my laptop does not start correctly.  It takes a long time to come - fans and all start, but take apx 4-5 min of kick.  Every once and a while I get all workers through troubleshooting or by doing a restore - then as soon as you close it down he 'forgets' that you did and the problem is there once again. Help!  FYI I AM COMPLETE COMPUTER MODEL and do NOT know my way and a lot of terms, so be nice and treat me like a child!  TYIA!

  Have you tried a server to P2V? If Yes, check on the physical server is there are agent VMware Converter race / installed and remove them.

  After removing agents from the server start a new use of VMware Converter.

• P2V Windows file server migration (VMware Converter 4)

  We use VMWare ESX 3.5.

  We want to migrate a physical file of MS Windows Server VMWare (ESX 3.5). The physical server has a C: drive of 40 GB and a 300 GB D: drive

  We would like to use VMWare converter, to migrate the server and to develop the drive C: for the virtual server is 80 GB, however we are concerned the 300 GB d: partition since it will take some time, and while the P2V, we might have some users access to stocks (on server co-location) and modifiyng files during migration.  So, if this caught there is a potential risk of losing business data.

  I learned that the VMWare Converter 4 can do a live migration and once completed the P2V it can track changes and then synchronizes them when you turn off the physical system.

  I was wondering if someone knows about this type of functionality on 4 VMConverter and knows how to use it?

  You can resize the disks so that the migration using VMWare converter. It is not only to take care on the disk, it is resized the partition, also.

  I have a XP box with a few applications I want to do in a virtual machine.  I have ESXI free running with several local and virtual machines and the data of the network store.   I installed the converter version 4 and could not convert the PC, so I uninstalled and installed version 3 with the same results.  I have attached customer newspapers and converrter of the last run.  If I look at the process on the area of conversion and customer ESXI, I can briefly see the vm name pop up in the list, and then he disappeared when the error in the conversion box

  You seem to be getting a failure when creating the virtual machine.  Converter 3 and 4 work the same way, that they submit the request for vCenter/ESX to create the virtual machine, as required.  I have seen where an initial conversion has failed once before or another conversion was at the same time, and we had to restart the running converter (Server source and converter) before the lock system was released on the data store.
