VMware vSphere Client - automatic connection

Is it possible to put in place a shortcut that will automatically log on to a server ESXi?

The problem here is that the icon that you use to launch the vSphere client is just Launcher. If you have 3.5, 4.0 and 4.1 hosts the Launcher would make the decision on this client to connect with, according to the destination host. The usual method to find what command line options are available in the windows program is program.exe /? Is listed for the vSphere client.

  • VMware vsphere client is in the "inventory loading" for a long period, then received a message from "time out

We have two type network connection in my lab, one is internal net, all computers on this network type internet access themselves, but they could access the internet through a proxy server. one is external net, all computers on this network type internet access themselves.

If my connection to the computer's internal network, the client is responsible for the inventory for a long time when I use VMware sphere client to connect to the VMware Server and give a message "connection error". below two screenshots are for the description of the error. But if my connection to the computer is net externally, I can connect to vmware server successfully.

    Capture.PNGCapture1.PNG

Here is the description of my VMware Server infrastructure:

My vmware server has two network adapters, vmnic1 and vmnic0. vmnic1 is used for the internal network, vmnic0 is used for external NET. I put a serval host in my vmware server, one of them is used for the proxy, all the computers in my lab can access internet through this proxy host via vmnic1.

Proxy host, I add two configurations for iptables as below:

    iptables - table nat - append POSTROUTING - out-interface eth0-j MASQUERADE

iptables - append forward - interface eth1-j ACCEPT

Further, I have another server in vmware, I also can connect to vmware server successful if my connection to the computer's internal network. and this server network two are the same.

How can I debug this problem? Thank you very much!

Management is necessary for both networks separately?

Because if not, you can move the Group of management to the internal network on vmnic1 ports...

Create a vmkernel port and turn it on to management, assign an IP address and it should be possible to connect to the internal network.

  • Can we start VMware vSphere Client with uid and pwd together?

It is possible to pass the UserID and pwd in VMware vSphere client application using program options?

The program did not show anything re. Start arguments or settings for the program

I think it's a little embarrassing that I always need to manually enter credentials and would define me a shortcut that contains the credentials.

    Something like "C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\Infrastructure\Virtual Infrastructure Client\Launcher\VpxClient.exe - uid < UID > - < PWD > pwd..."

Is this possible? Or via a config file?

    M.

Please take a look at for example http://www.johnoriordan.ie/index.php/2011/02/21/vsphere-client-command-line-options/ for the way in which this can be done.

  • V5 vSphere Client VI - connectivity to vCenter Server via the non-ideal DNS configuration

Here's a theoretical question that I fight for an answer at the bottom.   For example, the question is:
    ..
You have a VI Client in Active Directory (AD) domain n ° 1 with its own DNS, DNS #1 System.
You have a server vCenter and ESX hosts in AD #2 with its own system DNS, DNS #2 domain
The vCenter server and esx in AD #2 servers have DNS entries in DNS as follows #2...
    vcenter1. DNS2.com
    Esx1.DNS2.com
    ESX2. DNS2.com
However, in AD #1 the same servers have entered DNS DNS #1 as follows...
    vcenter1. DNS1.com
    Esx1.DNS1.com
    ESX2. DNS1.com
The VI in AD #1 client must connect properly on the vCenter server, using the DNS #1 name vcenter1.dns1.com.   It's pretty obvious.  However, what happens when you start a console KVM remotely to one of the virtual machines on VMware ESX Server?  I don't think it'll work.  I think that the VI client is trying to communicate with the service console of the ESX Server hosting the virtual machine by using the DNS entry of the ESX Server that is known to vCenter server, IE esx1.dns2.com, which is not a FULL domain name in the DNS # 1 VI client.
I need to review this issue for VC2.5U6 with ESX 3.5U5 and an implementation of vSphere 5, even though I think that it is the same for all versions.   Incidentally, I read KB749640, talking about DNS but I don't think it covers where the VI client is a DNS domain disparate with DNS names of the esx servers different to the one known by the VC server.
I hope the above is clear.  Can develop if necessary
    Thank you, Jan

    ESX host name is esx1.test.com.

In provided customer vSphre the hostname for connectivity is different. for example: esx1.prod.com, however this name is directed to the same host with intellectual property.

To do this, we edit hosts file c:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts.

  • Problems with the VMware vSphere Client

    Hallo

I have problems with the new Client VMware vSphere.

Until I installed the new client on my system, I had the old VMware inferstructure 2.5 client to manage my esxi.

I was then going to test esx 4 box of the anther and then installed the vsphere client.

    But!

When I try to connect my old esxi 3.5 or the new esx 4 I get the following error from the vsphere client:

"Analysis of the server"192.168.2.2"" clients.xml"file error.

Logon will continue, contact your system administrator.

I then clik Ok and get this message:

The initializer for type for 'VirtualInfrastructure.Utils.HttpWebRequestProxy' threw an exception.

I tried to delete the old client and the new and then install the new, but still it dosent work.

    I am running Windows 7 64 bit.

It will not work on windows 7, period.  You must run the VIC from a supported operating system

  • VSphere client, cannot connect to Vmachine on ESXi5

    Hello

I hope someone can helpme or guide me on this one.

I already create two VMs on ESXi5 and their spouse on my domain, I can controlit from the console on esxi (via vsphere client)

but... If I try to connect directly to the vmachine of my office via vsphere client I had a conection error

I try with my domain user and the password

I try with the checkbox "use the same windows credentials" and still the same...

I thought maybe I give permmits to the vmachine directly from Esxi5, but I noticed that does not show in my area and I can't add my name of user or groups. I wonder if theres some how to join my esxi5 welcome to my domain and then can show my domain name such as an option to choose some users of group or individual userid

    (see attached)

Thank you and have a nice day of departure (sound almost 07:00)

You can join your ESXi your unter AD-> authentication services configuration.

But that can only be allows you to assign permissions to allow users to connect to your server ESXi with the vSphere Client and do things over there, like create virtual machines or use its console your AD.

To access the operating system inside the virtual machine remotely, use RDP, VNC, XDMCP, etc as a.p. said

Yes - by default, a connection up to 25 to vCenter

  • Error loading of VMWare vSphere Client

Hey guys, I'm a newbie in the world of VMWare and just live my first problem.

My system was installed by a third party 3rd which, due to uncontrollable circumstatnces, is not accessible at this time.  So, I'm trying to see if someone can have a resolution for me.

I use ESX 4.  When I open the vSphere client application and enter my login details, I get the heap following errors:

The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)

This application has failed to start because MSVCR71.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

Fatal error VMware Remote Console: (player)

SSLLoadSharedLibrary: Could not load library libeay32.dll:126

The last error writes a dump file.

This app worked perfectly all the time.  The problem started while I was on a business trip last week.  I suspect that some type of update (Microsoft, Java, etc.) is probably what is causing this problem.

I tried to re-register the dll files, but it has not made a difference.  I would love to re - install the app, as suggested, but I am currently unable to find that the download on the VMware site.

I'm just curious if anyone has any suggestions, or possibly the location of downloads?

    Thanks in advance,

    Steve

Open a web browser and enter the address of the ESX host or vCenter - which will take you to a page where you can download the client

  • Unable to connect to new ESXi 5.5 with vSphere Client hosts

Completed the new installation of ESXi 5.5 on two new Dell PowerEdge servers last night.

Trying to connect to them through the vSphere client fails.

I can ping both servers without any problems from the server where the vSphere client is installed (it is not a domain controller but a Windows 2003 server - it has not .net 3.5 SP1 is installed).

If I try to open the IP address of the host in a web browser http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx expires, however, if I try http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:902 It connects to the server, but rather than get the web page, I'm used to waiting with 5.1 I get this message:

"220 VMware authentication daemon Version 1.10: required SSL, ServerDaemonProtocol:SOAP, MKSDisplayProtocol:VNC, VMXARGS taken in charge, taken NFCSSL in charge." I get this exact message even though I have telnet to port 902.  So I know that I can speak to the host, but have no idea why I can't connect to it or they have the tools to display in a web browser. »

Try to use the same IP address with port 902 in the vSphere client to connect, I get this error:

vSphere Client could not connect to "xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx".

A unknown connection error has occurred. (The client received an invalid response from the server. (The server committed a protocol violation. Article = ResponseStatusLine))

I noticed that there was a lag of 2 hours and 4 minutes between the host server and the client's server.  I have reset the time to match up in the BIOS of the host server.  The test gave the same results.

Probably unrelated, but throw it out there in case it points to an answer, when executing the "Test management network", ping passes to the default gateway and the DNS server secondary (which is Google 8.8.8.8) but fails for the main DNS (local IP) server and host name resolution is faulty.

Ideas, help or solution would be much appreciated.  I need to get the network to this customer virtualized this week, and I would prefer not to have to go back to 5.1 if possible.

    Thank you

    This is resolved.

And it's one of those things that you just kick yourself for.

I tried this on two servers, Server 2003 and using IE8

Tested a theory using a VPN to my laptop Windows 8 IE 10 and it has worked perfectly, then tested on a Server 2008 R2 using IE9 and it worked perfectly.

Installed Chrome on the two Server 2003 servers and worked perfectly.

So in the end it was IE8 that was not compatible and all the problems at the origin!

Thanks again to you Andrew for trying to help!

    Mark

Ed.  In fact, this is the exact reason that it did not work

5.5 use OpenSSL ciphers and we will not be able to run the 2003 32-bit
