• Volume/brightness screen does not appear

  I wouldn't change anything on my laptop. I've closed, went to bed, it opens in the morning to find that when I pressed the volume or brightness setting the buttons would not display the icon in the middle of the screen. I downloaded and installed this menu stupid mediasmart smart who is so smart that it won't launch yet, so a lot of good that did, but since he worked last night, and suddenly it stopped working, I guess it wouldn't even really force me to download something like that because it was working fine beforehand.   Hi, as the title suggests, I want to remove the displays on-screen volume/brightness/capslock/numlock on my laptop
  
  Short story about what happened from my side, I got my laptop 3 years ago and the display screens were not there, until I reformatted my laptop a few months ago to windows 7 Professional (a win7 Ultimate) and the screen came with it, now I'm on windows 10 and they are still there
  
  Major problem I have with them are the fairly high FPS drop they cause, not to mention those bugs

  I looked in the forums of hp for solutions and nothing will not work:
  HP Quicktouch/tauch missing
  HP MediaSmart Smart menu is missing also
  Revo uninstaller did not find anything about this is mentioned in the forums

  I have never seen or met.

  I've seen similar, as in games or overlays of user interface overlays. You have installed a program to show that?  Check in your "hidden icons", down to your left. Y at - it an icon which shows, if so can "out you"?  Is it in the Control Panel, all programs that say "overlay" or something?

  The last thing that I can say, go to the Task Manager and go to the Startup tab. Is there something in there that can refer to a display on?

  If none of them are successful, I will continue to look more deeply into it.

  1. did you of recent changes to the computer before the show?

  2 do you have uninstalled all the programs?

  Check if the problem persists in the new user account.

  I suggest you follow these steps.

  1: Look at the taskbar and see if you have the Quickset icon there. It is in the form of a Q that is blue with a yellow tail coming out there.

  2: click the icon and uncheck the 'disable on screen volume meter.' (On some versions you must right-click it.)

  3: If the icon is missing under start programs and see if you have the Dell Quickset program. Follow the arrow to the word "Quickset" and click on it once and the 'Q' icon should appear on the taskbar.

  4: If you do not have quick setting program you can download it from the website of the computer manufacturer (dell).

  If the problem persists, contact the computer manufacturer for help.

• White loading bar appears after the splash screen. TAKES FOREVER TO FILL!

  I recently formatted my windows xp because it was slowing down. I do this once a year and its good because my newly formatted computer takes 30 sec or less to load. However this time I formatted, after the screen intel and BIOS, a black scren appears for 1 minute, then an alternating black and white bar appears at the bottom. no text, nothing. This bar fills up until halfway, then the "xp" logo appears and the computer loads normally. the problem is that the loading bar takes 7 min + join to halfway. so my newly formatted computer load in 8-9 minutes rather than 30 seconds like its supposed to!

  I tried to reformat, reinstall xp, but the same thing is happening: s

  Thanks for posting. Please, try the following.

  1. place your Windows XP installation CD and start to her...
  2. Press any button to start the Windows installation (don't worry... we do not actually use the installer at this point)
  3. wait a few moments for the installation program starts, when you see repair an installation of Windows XP using the Recovery Console, and then press the R key
  4. wait until you see this screen, enter the number of your master installation. (Typically 1 to C:\Windows)
  5. press ENTER.
  6. If you are prompted to do so, enter your administrator password. If you don't have one, leave the field blank and press to enter.
  7. from the command prompt, type: chkdsk/r (note the space between chkdsk and / r)
  Allow it to complete undisturbed.
  8. remove the disc, then restart.

  Hello. I have a Satellite L670 and I m looking for the on-screen display of the volume and BRIGHTNESS.

  It is the first of my laptop which seems to offer not to display these key elements and it is very sinuous to find the standard 3 + 4 for the volume keys and F6 + F7 for brightness, especially in an environment dark.

  Before this Toishiba had a few DELL Latitude and Inspiron Laptops and my wife uses a Samsung and had all this laptop-screen computers or the possibility of opening the display of the volume on fn + arrow keys.

  Please excuse my English. Maybe someone can understand my problem anyway ;-)

  What you want to say no to the display screen?

  Different laptops have different combination of FN keys. On Toshiba laptops, you can change the display by pressing FN + F6/F7 and on other laptops, you have other F - keys for this. There is no standard for these FN keys.

  Usually, if you press the FN key only you should see at the top of the screen flash cards. You see them?

  For your laptop, the screen on a brightness/volume is provided by HP MediaSmart SmartMenu - you can download this from the link below.

  Note:  You should have at least 1 other MediaSmart software installed (any) before installing this.

  When I press the button brightness [f2 and f3], it doesnot show the controls on the screen. Earlier, it allows to determine the kind of progress bar of the thing. It is the same with the Volume [f9 and f10] button. They all work, but it just that they donot see the on-screen progress bar.

  I made an installation Win 7 Enterprise 64-bit clean and added back the drivers FRO HP site, but the volume scrool bar appears on the screen.  I have already installed SP51701 HP screen display Utility and theis has not corrected the problem either.

  How can I display brightness and RGB histograms on the screen at the same time during playback on the 7 d MII.  Page 358 of the PDF manual shows a graph of the two together under Lens/histogram information, but I've been able to display one or the other, not both.

  I found the answer.  It takes a combination of the Info button and the button to display the two histograms.  In read mode, press the info button until the image and the histogram that is selected in the menu of the Play3 appear side-by-side, then use the multidirectional button(up/dn) to switch to the other the histogram.

  I installed Windows 8 PRO (64-bit), on my Dell laptop (model Inspiron-5520) 05/11/2012.
  For the last 15 days or more, I'm observing some abnormal activity which I do not know if it is due to a virus, malware or some drivers / registry corruption.
  Whenever I open a Windows session (e.g. after reboot or out of the MODE STANDBY), a volume control bar appears in the upper-left corner & it keeps inhibition - reactivate up until I got a hit. This volume control bar is similar to that seen after that now both pressed keys (Fn & Speaker-Mute).
  I took the question to Kaspersky Antivirus, but still it is not fixed. I scanned the whole system of Rescue CD (bootable) of Kaspersky and Avira antivirus also scanned the whole system using Microsoft msert.exe service. But this virus as activity does not stop.
  I have observed that if the WINDOWS AUDIO service is stopped through msconfig, this virus as activity stops. But then speakers & microphone stop working.
  After crossing research on various Web sites on the internet, I found a site that helped me to fix the registry of the Windows Audio service. And it has worked very well; but it lasted only 2-3 reboots. Then after that, it is indeed.

  Volume control you see is normal Win 8...

  He does the things you describe are not...

  I doubt it's apparent virus but... it's very probably an audio driver\program any that is defective...

  Look in the tab Services from msconfig and hide all Microsoft Services and see what remains...

  You can also view the Startup tab of the the Task Manager for a suspect...

  It could be something as simple as a pilot action which was only supposed to run once, but loads with boot every time by a malfunctioning...
