VPN to ASA behind router
Hello
I have ASA 5505 behind a router, which is also a dmvpn (the router), on my ASA RADIUS I configured a remote access vpn.
But when I try to forward the VPN ports to my asa, I get problems with stability, with my talk about vpn on the router.
Is it possible to have a dmvpn to the router and vpn for remote access to my ASA?
I have attached the running configuration.
Thank you
Joelle,
The problem here is that your router and the ASA want to use udp port 500 and udp port 4500. Of course if you forward incoming ports then the dmvpn is not going to work and vice versa. What you can try to have your ezvpn use ipsec-over-tcp on port 10000 and that transmits to the place.
On the SAA configure "crypto isakmp ipsec-over-tcp port 10000.
On the change of the client connection information, click the transport tab and select ipsec-over-tcp.
On the router port forward tcp 10000 to the ASA.
Hope that helps.

AnyConnect VPN on ASA behind Internet router
I have script like below and that you need assistance please
Switch 10.10.1.1/30---> (10.10.1.2/30 inside the Interface) of base ASA (10.10.2.2/30 outside interface)---> public INT router (30.30.30.30/30) (10.10.2.1/30 LAN).
I have configured the VPN but it needs more setup in the router and the VPN should be the public ip address so outside users can access.
Fix.

Hi all
First of all, I would like to say I'm trying to implement this on Packet trace. I would like to set up a VPN using an ASA 5505 and a Cisco router 1841 (both available on Packet trace).
The devices can ping external IP address on the other.
The problem is that the VPN is not established. If I run sh crypto control its isakmp on the SAA, he said: there are no SAs IKEv1
Configurations for both devices are attached.
No idea why it doesn't work? Sorry if it is not the right forum for this, is the first time I post. I've searched the forums and I checked some of the proposed solutions, but I have not found the answer to my problem :-(
Thanks in advance,
Patty
- On the router, there is no crypto card. Need in a manner consistent with the SAA.
- Your policy of phase 1 is not compatible. They settings must match on both sides (router: 3des, ASA: aes)
- You can adjust your NAT on both devices that tunnel traffic does not get teeth. Remember that NAT is made prior to IPsec. If you do not exempt NAT traffic, then it will not match the ACL crypto more after NAT.
- Yes, the forum is perfectly fine! ;-)

Termination of VPN on Pix behind router IOS with private subnet
OK, basically, I wonder if it is possible to terminate a VPN connection on a Pix 506 Firewall which is behind a router IOS. The public interface of the Pix 506 have a private on a 29 ip address will IOS within the interface. Network is configured as follows:
Internet as 10Base T
| (5 public - X.X.X.34. 38)
| (In WIC-1ENET)
| (.34 assigned to interface)
Cisco 1760
| (Pomp) | (WIC-4PORTSWITCH)
| | (10.0.0.1 29 on 1760)
Net private Pix 506
(192.168.1.0) (10.0.0.2 29 on Pix)
Now, two internal interfaces of the 1760 are configured to PAT on the IP of the interface of the 1760 and all internet traffic goes perfectly. None of the access lists are currently applied anywhere on the 1760 and a static translation on the 1760 is configured pour.35 to 10.0.0.2 ('public' ip pix). RDP and other services authorized in the pix access list work perfectly well from the outside world when you enter a.35, but if I try to terminate a VPN from a pix 501 for the pix 506 offsite using the Intellectuelle.35 property, it does not work.
Is it possible to do this type of work setting.
I realize I could put an external switch to 1760 and run the public subnet directly and individually in the 1760 and Pix 506, however, I really would prefer not no need to do so if it is possible to avoid it.
Remove the crypto map to the interface on the PIX and reapply.

VPN problem - "C1712 behind router Linksys ' connection to PIX515e
Hi all
I have a question about VPN (lan-to-lan).
My setup is the following:
10.1.20.x-[PIX515e_central site VPN concetrator]-(( ISP ))-[LINKSYS BEFSX41 router]-[Cisco1712_branch] - 192.168.14.x
I would like to create tunnel VPN between C1712 and PIX515 (lan-to-lan), so users of 192.168.14.x would be able to connect to servers located on a central site in network 10.1.20.x.
NAT - T is manually enabled on PIX and 'IPsec passtrough' is enabled on the Linksys router. Then what should I do now to create a VPN tunnel?
What is the basic C1712 and PIX515e configuration to make it work?
All other industries (8) work, but they are directly connected to the internet via C1712, so without router Linksys in front of him. Thus, PIX is already properly configured for this configuration.
I guess that the installer with Linksys router does not work because of PAT.
6.3 (4) version PIX
C1712 Version 12.4
Please advise!
Thank you very much in advance!
This line is incorrect on the router configuration:
IP nat inside source list 6 interface FastEthernet0 overload
Please, remove it and have her take:
overload of IP nat inside source list 101 interface FastEthernet0
Hope that solves this problem.

VPN - cannot subnets behind 2nd router internal access. Help.
Hi guys,.
Looking for a little help after a day of frustration. I'm really new to this and student so I know I'm doing something stupid. In any case, I bought an ASA 5505 and placed it between my cable Modem and router Cisco 3745. The external interface on the ASA is dhcp, the inside interface is 192.168.100.1. The external interface of the 3745 is 192.168.100.2 and inside is 192.168.1.1. The VPN pool is 192.168.200.10 - 192.168.200.10.
These are the problems...
1. when I set up a VPN to ASA session, I can ping and access resources dierectly connected to interfaces of the ASA and the 192.168.100.0 internal ASA network. However, I can't access any resource behind the 3745. I can't even ping 192.168.1.1.
2. Although I believe I sent split tunnel, I can't turn to the internet when connected to the VPN.
Here's my network and my config ASA topology and router config...

Hello
Does anyone know if a remote access VPN (ASA) behind another firewall with NAT (Checkpoint), works just fine?
I need to set up a remote access SSL vpn in an ASA 5512 - X but the ASA is in a DMZ to a firewall checkpoint with the public IP address and internet connection.
Thank you.
Andres
Yes. I used remote VPN SSL ASA access when the SAA outside interface is behind another firewall that is NATting address. As long as the second firewall allows tcp/443 (SSL, assuming a default configuration), it works fine.
For a VPN IPsec, a little more ports are required (udp/500 and 4500 in general).

a way vpn with asa to the 800 router
people
I have a site to site vpn set up between a asa 5540 and a 800 router
I want only the vpn to be initiated from the asa with the 800 remote listen incoming connections
I know that I can define the type of connection on the asa as only come but I can find an equivalent command to answer only for the 800 remote
can anyone point me in the right direction or is it enough to simply configure the asa as are created only for this encryption card
Thanks to anyone who takes the time to answer
Hello
I recommend you configure the tunnel as a dynamic to static tunnel VPN, the ASA will be the static counterpart, so it will be the initiator and the router will never be able to establish the connection.
The ASA will be a common L2L configuration, but the router will use a dynamic encryption card.
http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/Tech/tk583/TK372/technologies_configuration_example09186a008051a69a.shtml
The PIX in the example is old, then you can simply adjust the controls to your current version, the important thing is to understand the concept.
Please let me know if that answers your question,
Thank you.

Remote access VPN with ASA 5510 by using the DHCP server
Hello
Can someone please share your knowledge to help me find out why I'm not able to receive an IP address on the remote access VPN connection so that I can get an IP local pool DHCP?
I'm trying to set up remote access VPN with ASA 5510. It works with dhcp local pool but does not seem to work when I tried to use an existing DHCP server. It is tested in an internal network as follows:

Troubleshooting IPSec Site to Site VPN between ASA and 1841
Hi all
in the past I've implemented several VPN connections between the devices of the SAA. So I thought a site link between an ASA site and 1841 would be easier... But it seems I was mistaken.
I configured a VPN Site to Site, as it has been described in the Document ID: SDM 110198: IPsec Site to Site VPN between ASA/PIX and an example of IOS Router Configuration (I have not used SDM but CCP).
I have run the wizards on the ASA with ASDM and the current IOS version 15.1 1841, with CCP.
It seems to Phase 1 and 2 are coming although my ASA in ADSM reports (monitoring > VPN > VPN statistics > Sessions) a tunnel established with some of the Tx traffic but 0 Rx traffic),
On the ASA:

It seems that the routing on the 1841 is working properly as I can tear down the tunnel and relaunch in scathing a host on the network of 1841, but not vice versa.
Trounleshoot VPN of the 1841 report shows a message like "the following sources are forwarded through the interface card crypto. (172.20.2.0 1) go to "Configure-> routing" and correct the routing table.
I have not found an error on the 1841 config so if one of the guys reading this thread has an idea I appreciate highly suspicion!
It's the running of the 1841 configuration

Joerg,
ASA receives not all VPN packages because IOS does not send anything.
Try to send packets to the 1841 LAN to LAN of the ASA and see is the "sh cry ips its" on the 1841 increments the encrypted packets (there not)
The problem seems so on the side of the router.
I think that is a routing problem, but you only have one default gateway (no other channels on the router).
The ACL 100 is set to encrypt the traffic between the two subnets.
It seems that the ACL 101 is also bypassing NAT for VPN traffic.
Follow these steps:
Try running traffic of LAN router inside IP (source of ping 192.168.37.x 172.20.2.254) and see if the packages are not through the translation and obtaining encrypted.
I would also like to delete 100 ACL from the inside interface on the router because it is used for the VPN. You can create an another ACL to apply to the interface.
Federico.

VPN IPSec ASA with two ISP active
Hi ALL!
I have a question.
So I have ASA with 9.2 (1) SW connected to ISP with active SLA.
I need to configure redundant IPSec VPN via ISP2, while all other traffic must go through isps1. In case if one of the ISP goes down all including VPN traffic must be routed via ISP alive.
I have configured SLA and it works.
ciscoasa # display route performance
Route 0.0.0.0 isps1 0.0.0.0 10.175.2.5 5 track 1
Route isp2 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.175.3.5 10 track 2
Route isp2 172.22.10.5 255.255.255.255 10.175.3.5 1 excerpt 2Here we can see if isps1 and ISP2 are RISING, all traffic passes through isps1, but traffic intended for the remote peer IPSec 172.22.10.5 passes by ISP2.
This configuration works just at the moment when isps1 or isp2 is down or if a static route for 172.22.10.5 deleted. Where two Internet service providers are increasing to ASA does not send the next remote IPSec datagrams.

Hi anton,.
If you check the log message on your ASA R301-IS , he's trying to build the tunnel VPN with both IP and it receives packets of asymmetrically your distance ciscoasa.
TO avoid this asymmetrical connection, point your IP from peers as primary & secondary on your R301-EAST
set peer 10.175.3.10 10.175.2.10
Delete the track on your routing entries
Route isp2 172.22.10.5 255.255.255.255 10.175.3.5
This should work for you.
Similalry lower your ISP 2, you should see VPN tunnel is mounted with isps1 one.
