VPN with 2 routers on the network

Hey guys,.

I was trying to figure out this question for months. I currently have a router wired RV018 (routerA) to connect to my modem. I home wired with Ethernet, then the wired router allows to offer internet in these areas (living room, bedrooms, etc...).  I have a second RV110W router (routerB) to connect to the wired router in the family room which is used for the wireless. Right now I have the Ethernet cable plugged into the WAN port on the routerB. Everything is connect the reader network, tablets, computers, server, routerB, stuff like that. I have install PPTP on both routers. I am able to PPTP in routerA and that's it. Because he does not see routerB, I'm unable to access my disk network from a remote location. What I want to do is the PPTP Protocol in routerB directly from a remote location, but I keep getting errors. I have ports 1723 and 47 open on routerA and routerB. I opened an additional port 5008 routerA and routerB but I always get errors.

Any help would be appreciated. Sorry if it's confusing.

Yes, if it will be all feature wireless AP/Bridge will do is "convert" packages of wifi packets on ethernet and vice versa. If you then configure your remote access on routerA you will have access to all the wired devices behind routerA as well as devices wired behind routerB and wifi devices. There is no need to access remote set-up on routerB.

    Method 1: Check the settings for dynamic host, Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) on the router. Contact the manufacturer of the router or the access to the same provider.

    Method 2: Release and renew the IP configuration.

    • Click Start. Click Run, type cmd, press ENTER.
    • Type the first command enough ipconfig and press ENTER.
    • Then type the second command ipconfig / renew and press ENTER.

    IP addresses are assigned to a computer in one of two basic methods: the address is assigned automatically by the device "in charge" of the network (in your case, the wifi hotspot router) or the address is set manually on the computer.

    If the address is assigned automatically, the router is "smart" enough to assign a different address for everyone.  However, if your computer has a fixed or 'static' IP address assigned manually, it may conflict with an address assigned by the router to another computer.

    You do not specify, so I'm going to assume that your computer is running WIndows XP...

    1. On your computer, open the network connections (start > run > ncpa.cpl > OK)
    2. Right-click on the icon for your wireless adapter and select Properties
    3. Click on the 'Général' tab, select "Protocol Internet (TCP/IP)" from the list of "this connection uses the following items" and click "Properties".
    4. Select the boxes for two on "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically"
    5. OK your way out.

    This will not adversely affect your computer somehow.

    If the two "automatic" settings were already selected, it is likely that your wireless adapter is managed by a utility provided by the manufacturer of your computer or your adapter wifi rather than Windows.  There should be a wifi icon in the system notification area (near the time display).  Click or right-click on it and see if you can access the menu of configuration settings or to determine at which it is useful.

    As mentioned, I am under Windows XP SP3.  Starting around June 14, 2011, I get this error message: "There is an IP address conflict with another system on the network."  I didn't any problem access the internet, which is weird considering all the forums I've read the user has had problems with this.

    I followed the steps to solving this problem.  I checked the IP addresses on all devices connected to my network. none match the computer, I get this message.  I tried refreshing and renew my address this computer's IP, but that has not solved the problem.  I've updated my modem drivers; who has not solved.  I checked the settings on my router but nothing.  I have turned off all devices in the House connected to the network, unplugged both the modem and the router, plugged the modem back in (anticipated for a constant signal), then plugged the router and gives him the time, but I got the message again.  I ran scans anti-virus and anti-malware, but neither picked up something.

    As long as you are in charge of your network, you can configure your router to reserve an IP for your machine OR set up so that the DHCP range is, for example, all the IP addresses above to x.x.x.100 and you you give an IP address below that (say x.x.x.99).

    In the first case, you let your computer configured as DHCP - your router just recognize it and gives this machine (and only this machine) reserved IP address.  For the latter, need to change the settings in Windows after changing your router so the DHCP range does not interfere with the static IP address range.  I would say that the latter is more likely to be a problem than the first, especially if there is a chance that this machine moves from one network to the other.

    Personally, I use the booking method on my home network.  In this way my laptop, iPad, etc. all get a given IP address every time (an I know) and I have to set up the real device special somehow.

The printer is the USB cable connected to the MacBook and works very well. On the Mac in System Preferences > sharing, printer sharing is enabled, the MP560 put highlight and users > 'everyone can print. " and the system of preferences > printers, Scanners & "share this printer on the network" is selected. On the Lenovo and Dell, I installed Hello, and both can 'see' the MP560 and file > print on both, the printer is recognized and activated.     A few days after posting here, I asked this question on another Canon Website and learned that in similar circumstances to mine described here, Canon recommends that the MP560 "be connected to your Windows computer then shared to your Macintosh', rather than, as in my case, saw the MP560 connected to the Mac and then sharing with Windows computers.

  • Problem connecting to a certain router with several routers in the region

    I'm in an apartment complex that uses wireless internet. Accordingly, there is a configuration of multiple routers around the complex. Some work to channel 11, some on channel 1. One of these routers on channel 11 is in my room.

    I use the Linksys WUSB54GC wireless adapter.

    My problem is that my adapter picks up about 4 at most of these various neighboring routers, including the one in my room. However, even if I select it, my card does never connect to the router in my room which is located on channel 11, nor the other 11 channel picks it up sometimes. Still, it will connect to one of the channel 1. It's a problem because all routers outside the bedroom vary in intensity of the signal wildly resulting in me are deteriorerait internet performance and sometimes the connection dropping out entirely.

    I read your message quickly through my cell phone. I don't know why you have spent your config twice. Maybe a typo issue.

    I see the acl sheep in the wrong way. I mean 192.168.254 are your pool VPN and 192.168.1.0 your local LAN.

    The acl must be:

    sheep - in extended access-list permit ip 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.254.0 255.255.255.0

    For nat (inside), you have 2 lines:

    NAT (inside) 1 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 ==> it is redundant as the 1 below does the same thing with more networks if there is inside side. You can delete it.
    NAT (inside) 1 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0

    Why are you doing this nat (outside)?

    NAT (outside) 1 192.168.254.0 255.255.255.0

    I have a local network of...

    • a modem
    • a gateway connected to the modem computer/server
    • has a modem-router connected to the gateway/server via the port of the gateway/internet
      (gateway/a two server NETWORK interface card)
    • a and B modem router wireless connected to the router via the gateway/router internet port B
    • both A and B using the same set of IP addresses, 192.168.0.XXX

    Now I want to do the same thing with my Linksys EA6500 V2 I did with router B, I want to connect the Linksys router has via gateway/internet port on Linksys.  In addition, I want the Linksys router to use the DHCP server on the gateway server / as everyone is on the local network and, of course, I want to use the series of IP addresses, 192.168.0.XXX.

    What I tried to do is to disable DHCP on the Linksys service, but nothing seems to change once the changes are activated.  I look in the Local network settings and see all the old default 192.168.1.1 for the router address and so on.  I also tried to change the address of the router manually an address of 192.168.0.x and was immediately cut off this subnet.  I tried the renewal of my Windows client computer and couldn't do that either.  And as my client could not change its own address 192.168.1.X, I couldn't reach the router to the address that I gave him.

    How can I set up this router so that it uses the DHCP server on the gateway/server computer, including acquiring its own address in the same series.  Or at least set up so that it uses the same series of address than the rest of the LAN and no longer functions as a separate subnet?

    It seemed that all I had to do to set up router B to connect this way was to disable the DHCP server and everything fell into place, no problem.  Is this all I need to do here?  Am I supposed to restart or something?  I'm tired of guessing and trial and error.

    All tips or hints would be appreciated.

    You have to give the EA6500 a router static IP address in the same subnet as your network, but not in the DHCP range.

    Thing to keep in mind when cascading a router:

    1. Change the IP address of the secondary router to something like 192.168.1.254 so its on the same network, but is not in conflict with the main router
    2. Make sure that the DHCP service is disabled on the secondary router
    3. Make sure that nothing is ever connected to the internet port of the secondary router
    4. Differentiate the wireless SSID by location (Ex: downstairs) and the channel

    You can configure static NAT for 1:1 for the SAA outside interface with a spare public ip address of the router address.

    If you don't have spare public ip address, then you must configure static UDP/500 and UDP/4500 PAT on the router and enable NAT - T on the SAA.

I have two groups defined in Cisco Secure: Netadmins and security ITD. Users of the Netadmins group need access to all switches and routers on the network. ITD security must only access async line 53 on a router 2611 for a band of a firewall and no other access to all network devices offline. How can I limit access to the Cisco Secure security ITD group to line 53 only?

    In the security group, I would create a Restriction of access to IP network with an entry permit. Essentially to allow access to the single port on 2611 only.

    The AAA Client field is the name that you gave to the 2611 in the network config. Address will be * unless you want to restrict access to the ip or address. Port... never quite sure with async if the port value must be "async 53" or "line 53".

    If you look in the pass/fail for the nas-port attribute, you'll see what that T + sends to the ACS. This should help you know what to put in the NAR.
