  We have a simple DMZ where I set up a host running ESXi 5.1. I have another windows server in the DMZ subnet and I can load the new ESXi her host's web site. From my PC in our LAN I can not pull the top web interface 5.1 ESXi or connect via vSphere Client. If I enable SSH on the new host, can I use Putty to connect to the new host ESXi from my PC in LAN. I watched the event logs in our firewall and nothing seems to be blocked. I guess that the problem is related to a value or a firewall setting in ESXi 5.1 but I don't know.   Just a thought. Why don't run you the ESXi host in your internal network management and only virtual machines in the DMZ? Would make the ESXi host management even more secure, and you wouldn't have to open Firewall ports.

  The best way is to clean install and start over.

  In addition, it is not legal to have both installed version that the license is for a single installation.

  If it is a dual boot with 32 bit and 64 bit installed on different partitions, there would not have been the conflicts you would have never started in one or the other.

• Can't ssh ESXi 5 host

  I had to do a strengthening of security on a host computer and now I can't ssh in.  I can go back to what I did, but I want to clarify what line in the sshd_config file is the cause.  I'll list out what I have:

  The SSH server is enabled and running under Firewall and ssh and ESXi shell is running on the host computer in the security profile

  I can connect to the host via the HP Onboard Administrator, both the shell and the DCUI

  I use putty and I put the 3DES encryption cipher selection policy and I tried to tell the version of the SSH 2 Protocol only, I went back with only 2 and just selection 2

  I can connect to the host directly with root and with an admin account, that set up the shell and DCUI

  I know that root cannot ssh in the host since PermitRootLogin is set to no, I'm getting my secondary account

  I immediately receive an error "The network connection closed unexpectedly Server", so it's going to stop until I can grasp anything.

  Finally, the ESXishelltimeout is 900 seconds

  I don't know what the sshd_config fie since I edited it's just before I had this problem.

  Hi, I've faced trying to get the help of TAC and internet research on the way to upgrade to our UCS environment, and as a last thought resort, I would try a post on the forum.

  My environment is an environment of UCS chassis with double tracking, tissue of interconnections, years 1110 with pair HA of 1000v 5.1 running vsphere.  We have updated all our equipment (blades, series C and UCS Manager) for the supported versions of the firmware by CISCO for vSphere 6.

  We have even upgraded our Nexus 1000v 5.2 (1) SV3(1.5a) which is a support for vSphere version 6.

  To save us some treatment and cost of issuing permits and on our previous vcenter server performance was lacking and unreliable, I looked at the virtual migration on the vCenter 6 appliance.  There is nowhere where I can find information which advises on how to begin the process of upgrading VMWare on NGC when the 1000v is incorporated.  I would have thought that it is a virtual machine if you have all of your improved versions to support versions for 6 veil smooth.

  A response I got from TAC was that we had to move all of our VM on a standard switch to improve the vCenter, but given we are already on a supported the 1000v for vSphere version 6 that he left me confused, nor that I would get the opportunity to rework our environment being a hospital with this kind of downtime and outage windows for more than 200 machines.

  Can provide some tips, or anyone else has tried a similar upgrade path?

  It seems that you have already upgraded your components N1k (are VEM upgraded to match?).

  Are your questions more info on how you upgrade/migration to a vcenter server to another?

  If you import your vcenter database to your new vcenter, it shouldn't have a lot of waste of time, as the VSM/VEM will always see the vcenter and N1k dVS.  If you change the vcenter server name/IP, but import the old vcenter DB, there are a few steps, you will need to ensure that the connection of VSM SVS corresponds to the new IP address in vcenter.

  If you try to create a new additional vcenter in parallel, then you will have problems of downtime as the name of port-profiles/network programming the guestVMs currently have will lose their 'support' info if you attempt to migrate, because you to NIC dVS standard or generic before the hosts for the new vcenter.

  If you are already on vcenter 6, I believe you can vmotion from one host to another and more profile vswitch/dVS/port used.

  Really need more detail on how to migrate from a vcenter for the VCA 6.0.

  Assuming that you have enough free disk space on the host ESXI 5.1 data store, I suggest you that you load the multiextent module as shown in the link, I posted and then clone the virtual disk using the vmkfstools command line utility.

  You cannot save the license key in VMware portal.

  All you need to do is enter the key in your ESXi host. Open a session using the vSphere Client, go to the Configuration tab and select functions under license. There you can enter the license key.

  What are the possible methods to upgrade VSphere 4.x for VSphere 5.

  ESXi can be migrated from 4.1 to 5.0 by using:
  -Interactive migration (by using the installation media to start the host).  You can use the same installation media to do a new installation or an upgrade to ESX/ESXi 4.x to 5.0 ESXi.
  -Migration script (using the script KS.cfg)
  -vCenter Update Manager
  Note: You cannot make a migration to an ESXi host using CLI (like vihostupdate).
  The vCenter Server 4.1 to 5.0 upgrade process is quite similar to migrate from vCenter 4.0 to 5.0 (see the guide to upgrading VMware site)

  Typical VPN connections, you use the DNS server of your iPhone and not the DNS server of the network corresponding to your server.  In addition, Hello services are only available on the LAN.  So you have no way to resolve names to IP adrdesses for the network, you are VPNing.

  The only easy solution from an iPhone is to make a list of IP addresses and use them to connect instead of host names.  using IPs will work as long as your ISP does not also use the same internal (like 192.168 or 10.0) IP address than the network that you connect to.

  That smacks of have your cake and eat it. How HP can market a computer upgraded and then deny the buyer the right ot improve it?

  You pointed out that your views are not those of HP, but I hope you will have the opportunity to report '' power '' that this is something they could see again about the future policy because this could possibly unnecessary anxiety to customers. For my part I found that the warranty would have been cancelled, I would have done the path to 'never buy HP again' and that would be the end of what could still be a beautiful relationship.

• Kit of hp wireless printing upgrade can be used on windows 8, can not install it.

  I have two laptops pavilion one is windows 7 32 bit, the other is 64-bit windows 8. I had the hp wireless printing extension kit glazed on the w7 laptop for about 4 years, works very well. I want to install the kit to upgrade on the laptop of w8, but it stops at 90-10 per cent, says I need a driver, HELP PLEASE.

  Thank you for trying to help, I found a way to solve the problem, just ordered a printer wireless HP 3520 at HP, how the bed I can set it up so it does not work on my two laptops so will not need the wireless printing kit-I HOPE
