  This problem may occur because of damaged or missing Windows files. This can also happen if associated service is not running.

  I suggest you to check if the "Windows Management Instrumentation" service is running as set as Automatic.

  Please follow these steps:

  a. press Windows + R key, type services.msc in the immediate window and press ENTER.
  b. right click on "Windows Management Instrumentation" and click Properties.
  c. make sure that the service status is running and Startup type is automatic.
  d. If not, select the Startup type to Automatic and click on 'Start'.
  e. click apply and ok.

  If she did not help, run checker (SFC) of file system and see if it helps.

  I'll try to find a (web page perhaps) summary of what is and especially what is NOT available in free version of ESXi 3.5 Embedded U4.

  Like many people I guess, I spent hours looking for a way to perform certain operations on virtual disks, to see that these operations have been banned in the free version of ESXi 3.5 U4.  It is reasonable, after all, if someone gives you a horse, don't look in his mouth!  But while I'm happy to be an ESXi 'amateur' to a certain extent, I'm starting to feel like a pirate, and I'm doing this a bit more productive experience.  Here's what I found so far:

  -Some of the most useful features in VMware Tools (such as 'narrowing of the virtual disks') seem to have no useful effect in ESXi 3.5 U4 Embedded free version

  -L' operation-e vmkfstools.pl RCLI to rename the virtual disk (moving) and the i - operation to clone (copy / import / export) a virtual disk seem to be disabled (due to lack of return. RestrictedVersion.summary)

  -vim - cmd does not provide what be good beyond what you can do in VI Client

  In particular, can someone tell me if it is interesting to study the following, that is I'll be able to do anything discs at all useful to the virtual with them in ESXi 3.5 U4 Embedded free version:

  -VIMA

  -VI Toolkit (for Windows)

  Take a look at this article: http://vmetc.com/2009/03/31/esxi-u4-ends-free-version-read-and-write-access-from-the-rcli/, it should provide general information on the ESXi set and the problem of read-only.

  As ESXi never was intended to provide full access to the VI API, you get what you pay for and in this case, you use the free version so that you can accomplish all of these tasks with the VI Client, if you want more, you'll have to pay for it.

  So first off, vim-cmd is only available with the unsuppoted SSH console and you can probably do most of the basic tasks through some scripted as a shell script automation, also in the console Busybox unsupported, you have full access to the very familiar vmkfstools. Now, you mention vmkfstools.pl is the remote version of the tool, because it is not available by default with ESXi (as the console does not support is not supported by VMware). To manage and configure your remote host ESX and ESXi, vCLI was created that replicates most of the popular esxcfg-* commands that use the API of VI

  This VI API is not free, you have full read access but if you want to set up/perform all operations that aren't will not be played, then you will need to have a license appropriate and which is at the Foundation or higher. The API is exposed as WSDL/SOAP and there are various scripts/languages with links that hang in the VI API to provide a level of abstractions for programmers, administrators, some of these languages include Microsoft Powershell, Perl, c#, Java, etc.

  PowerCLI (officially VI Toolkit Windows) is such a link that uses the VI API, i.e. to use it you will need to have the appropriate permit to change the configuration of other you will have only read access, it's similar to Perl called vSphere SDK for Perl bindings. So, if you're going to explore other routes, you will always encounter the same fundamental question.

  Okay, vMA (officially VIMA) is just a VAPP VMware RHEL that provides administrators a way to centrally manage / to distance your servers ESX/ESXi and vCenter. It comes by default with the vSphere THAT SDK Perl and a few other utilities to help manage/configure your systems and once again they depend on the VI API which access set based on the licenses that you have on your hosts.

  So all the options are options, but you need to know if you are going to get a license, because without the most basic, you will not be able to use one of these toolkits. Note that the license NOT only does full read/write access to the API but other features depending on the license you buy.

  There are other tools that provides VMware which, for now, temporarily has functions of management for virtual machines ONLY, this may change in the near future but take a look at this thread for more information post: is not happy with lockdown 3.5u4 VI API/RCLI ESXi? Worry not, VMware VIX to the rescue... for now =)

• WLAN channels 12 and 13 are not available in Europe

  If I run a German WindowsXP SP2 and VistaRC2 it is impossible to connect to access points using channels 12 and 13 which should be available in Europe.

  It is especially a problem when connecting to public access points where I can not change the configuration.

• Standby and Hibernate is not available

  I serve these functions for several years on my T40 2373-94U - until they have ceased to be available. Information Lenovo has not resolved the problem, not the internet in general. I have the latest version of the BIOS, and I think that the hibernation is enabled, but do not know what are the correct settings - so I'm using the default values. Power management software is up to date. Command powercfg info line shows that these functions are not available. I wonder if I should re-flashing the bios, or consider that other software (I don't know what on my system too complex) intervenes. Ideas and suggestions are appreciated.

• Uninstall, and then reinstall not available in Download Manager

  I bought the cloud to Adobe and installed Acrobat Pro. When I tried to run there was a problem with the screen to accept it and it would not allow me to accept. I decided to uninstall it and reinstall it hoping it would be fixed. However, when I went to reinstall in the Download Manager it still considers that it is installed and so I can't install it again.

  Today, I spend all day looking for the solution to this, but it was a bad day for me. I have access to the server cisco UCS 220 M3 Mmic and when I clicked the button on console kvm on the page group MMIC, the kvm and vm tab does not appear on the console kvm page. When I clicked on the virtual media in the menu, it's only to create image and enable vm media, there is no "Add images" option available for me to download the ISO image of vmware on the server.

  I tried to update the firmware for MMIC and BIOS, but no luck for me. Grateful if someone can help me with that!

  Try to do a cycle of the power of the box by removing the cables for power for about 3 minutes.

• One migrated from my virtual machine to another host VSphere and it does not start

  I have a virtual machine that I've initially converted to Hyper-V to host VSphere. After I did it would start very well, but I got up two errors when starting.

  "An IDE controller is found but the VM does not support the option" and

  "A plate supporting the option not found."

  When I looked at the hard drive in the settings it looks like it is not supported. Is it because I badly converted to Hyper-V to VSphere using VMWare Converter?

  But now, I configure VCenter Server and tested a migration of these machines to another host and using the VSphere Client. It does not start now. I get an error message that says.

  "Device 'drive hard 1' uses a controller that is not supported." This is a general limitation of the compatibility of the virtual machine with the selected host ESXi version. »

  I'm new to the custom plugin. So I'm following JMX Plugin tutorial (http://support.hyperic.com/display/DOC/JMX+Plugin+Tutorial) to create a plugin that is customized for a simple Java process. I use the plugin displayed in the tutorial link XML.
  
  The problem is that I could use the command line (java-jar < Agent Directory > /pdk/lib/hq-product.jar-Dplugins.include=yourPluginName m discover - a metric) for all measures. I have attached the results of the command line.
  
  However, on server HQ (localhost:7080), the availability, the use of the Cpu process, processes resident memory size are taken. And the GC services are auto-decouvert, but they appear as unavailable. I enclose two screenshots of the HQ server.

  It seems that the metric collection is not enable for the rest of the metric.

  Check the default trace on the administration tab. And where each resource collection of parameter can be set by changing the metric models. I hope it's as simple as that...

  Naturally all parameters are not enabled by default.

  Sorry, it's probably quite a simple, but I've lost a little and could do with some help.

  My environment is:

  1 x vCenter

  1 x ESXi 4

  1 x ESX 3.5

  Now the problem is with the ESX 3.5 server. I try to add in my vCenter environment. I created a license existing server and am currently using an eval on the 3.5 Server license.

  When I try to add the server to the vCenter, I received the following message:

  [email protected] for vCenter Server houston.wira.explor.co.uk Server license does not include the agent for ESX Server vCenter. Update licenses on the license server.

• Satellite C855D-12j - BSOD and HDD is not available

  BSOD can be related to hardware or even software so problems if the gift factory settings help t I think service should check it out.

  I want to configure the sound in Windows Media System. When I run the wizard configuration-sounds,
  (1) the Assistant asks what connection to use: I choose laptop
  (2) then the loudspekers must be selected: I can only select 2

  I think it's strange because I have 4 speakers (2 on console, 2 in the screen) and subwoofer. I have other options? (i.e. 5.1?)

  When I first installed this laptop (about 6 weeks ago), that I remember that I could choose 5.1 (but I may be wrong).
  Because of the updateprobs that I had to reinstall a system full discs a few days after the initial installation. Now I finnally took the time to configure the WMS service again...

  I don't know if you would be able to choose a different configuration of m stereo speaker.
  The point is that most laptops are equipped with 2 stereo speakers, and to be honest I didn't see another stereo audio option in the sound settings.
