  I have a requirement to find different recordings of the same grouping columns have value different values in the columns, for example:

  Ideally for G1 = A, the NECK should have that a single value across records ' 456 'or ' 345'. So I need to check the values in NOT NULL of the COL where, for any value of G1, we have different values of the colonel G1 = 'B' is perfectly fine, so I don't need. G1 = C is good too and I'm not worried about it. I only need these entries when the neck was non-empty value / NULL not different for the same value of G1.

You can leave some MINUTES in the second dimension, which can be a dimension of standard user.   NLS parameter can be defined by environment variables, and they depend on the way you connect:

  • When you connect locally to the server (not SQL * Net, no listener), the Oracle session inherits the client environment
  • When you connect remotely to a service registered statically on the listener, the Oracle session inherits the environment that began the listener
  • When you connect remotely to a service registered dynamically on the listener, the Oracle session inherits the environment who started the database

  I use APEX 4.0.6 and I have a page with 4 regions and each of the region shows a classic report which SQL is very similar to the other:

  For region 3, the SQL looks like select * from history where status = 'C ';

  To optimize database performance, I like to create a page element called p_status_value on this page and using the syntax of following link for the SQL statement for all 4 regions:
  
  Select * from history where status =: p_status_value;
  
  However, I need this page element value is dynamically change for each region:
  
  For region 1, p_status_value = "A";
  For region 2, p_status_value = 'B ';.
  For region 3, p_status_value = 'C ';
  For region 4, p_status_value = ';
  
  Also, I need hide this element of the page on this page.

  Then I would have 4 regions, with each region report, create a box item in each area, called PXX_REGION_VALUE and then your request is:

  select * from history where status = :PXX_status_value_X; (XX for page # and X for region #).. The database engine will crunch through the query and your dashboard will work fine..

  The database column concerned, is a VARCHAR (2), so I'll have to just save "IA", instead of "IA - Iowa".
  
  I don't want to have a 'State' database table that correlates "IA" to "IA - Iowa".
  
  What is the best practice to have the user select the value in the fixed list and then having my code to manipulate the value before saving it to the db?

  Yes.

  Create the VO with two attributes (value and label) - call it your search VO

  In the original Version that you want to change, use the search VO to lead the list of values.

  What do you think that the above line done? You try to get the value of the attribute and trying to put the same value. How is it, that will have an impact?

  You need to do 2 things.

  1. change the insertRecord method and the State of return of this method.

  Change the definition of the function:

  public String InsertRecord (String itemstyle, String itemcust, String itemsize, String itemcolor, String ordrno,

  String desc)

  Add a return statement at the end after validation.

  I have a datablock with 20 records and each record has a comment (say field_comments) fields. I would like to allow the user to choose LOV populated predefined comments (say lov_comments) and add a few additional comments after they choose the value of LOV.
  
  I created a LOV and added the return type 'field_comments' in column mapping properties. When the user clicks a button, LOV opens. They choose the value of the LOV and the value goes to the field 'field_comment '. The problem with this approach, the user cannot add their comments after selecting in LOV.
  
  I tried this too much. I created another area of non-visible text (i.e. fake). In the LOV, I added "dummy" field as returntype. In the dummy field, I created the trigger 'After the CHANGE', which basically says: block. field_comments =: block. Mannequin.
  
  But, the user must click another field to display the value selected from the LOV. The values of the 'field_comments' is not being updated as soon as the user click on the 'OK' button in the LOV.
  
  I'd appreciate if someone could give me feedback and help to solve my problem. Thank you for your help.

  Well, I tried exactly what you posted and it allowed me to SELECT from LOV, then CHANGE/ADD new text in front of returned value in the field. He recorded in the database and questioned without any problem.

  Your article is allowed to INSERT/update? If this isn't the case, then set yes "Update/Insert allowed" and attach your LOV to the element and set "post to list" No.

  You can also see if you have any validation done on WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM trigger or after CHANGE which will fail because you change LOV populated values.

  You can install the software on two computers. These two computers can be Windows, Mac OS, or everyone.

  If you install on a third computer, you will be asked to turn off this feature on the other two computers. You can then re-enable one of the two previous computers and use Cloud Creative apps on it.
