  We are a COMPUTER consulting company and we have a lot of colleges and universities using Novell looking at VMware VI3 and VMware VIew.

  (1) for VMware VI3 tabs of permissions must be able to connect to an LDAP server to Active Directory only.

  (2) for VMware VIew 3, the VMware Agent should be integrated into the Novell Client for Windows...

  We did a little proof of concept with VMware View, and each time that the Novell Client are causing a lot of problems with VMware View Agent. It's bad because these 2 projects has been more than 10000 thin clients. They decided to Citrix XenDesktop used instead.

  It'll be great if you can built your product with the architecture of Novell.

  Someone with experience in installation and configuration of vWorkspace with Citrix Netscalers to provide balanced access to the servers to access the Web load vWorkspace?

  Hi Alex,

  This configuration is certainly possible and I have implemented it with clients previously.  Unfortunately, I do not know the Netscaler well enough right now to advise on the configuration steps to achieve this. I'll see what I can do in terms of creating a blog. It might take me some time so I would say that a Netscaler consultant would be able to very quickly set up for you to move from identification through information and portals Web Access vWorkspace load balancing.  In essence however its balancing a website so I guess there is a lot of documentation on how autour of:

  1. Configuration of SSL VPN
  2. Pass the credentials through a site web aka vWorkspace Web portal (a way that this is using kerberos cross from the netscaler)
  3. Load balancing a website (vWorkspace Web Access).  The important thing here is to ensure that once a user has be directed to a portal of Web access that their meeting is sticky.

  I have the intention to install our installation in VMWare I think it works better in terms of performance and stability... Any ideas...?

  We used VMware with vWorkspace for 12 years. I also wanted to try Hyper-V I did. Hyper-v for our VDI with vWorkspace changed completely. vWorkspace is great, but Hyper-V would just start to have corrupted VMs so that I had to redeploy them. Hyper-V took more time because I had to sit down baby system. This property is set to true if I install SCVMM with a Cluster leader/Hyper-V, but I wanted the same HA capacity which gave me some VMware. The new 8.6 without SCVMM might work better, but I'm back to VMware and will continue to use it.

• Map NETWORK connection not after VM provisioning in vWorkspace 8.0.1

  "I use vWorkspace 8.0.1 and lay out Windows 8 VM service but the problem is that I get the error message after VM provisioning '" virtualization management server reported any IP address to the computer "in the console vWorkspace.

  I tried to find the problem and found that the virtual machine on the ESX Server in not connect not not the NETWORK adapter after provisioning from the model.

  It is not question in the model as the provision of the vCenter VM is ok. ther is not question once we create VMS in vCenter. But when we try to provision vWorkspace VM, then it is in error.

  Can anyone let me know the setting of the NETWORK adapter in the virtual machine commissioning through vWorkspace.

  Hi Alain,

  Do you use Customizing to OS using vmware or sysprep vworkspace function. If you are using vmware options are trying to generate an empty image and deploy it using vworkspace with sysprep option.

  I'm not familiar with your problem but I don't know that when you sysprep and the deployment of a server using vworkspace work perfectly.

  Otherwise run your vmware customization to see if there is something wrong.

  I plan on agricultural use VDI vWorkspace with three servers Hyper-V, 2008R2 or 2012, in a cluster with live migration and shared storage configuration. I was wondering if anyone in the community has this type of configuration and what are the experiences or the issue you encountered during deployment?

  Hi Dejan,

  The main reasons for having a cluster would be if you have assigned with persistence of virtual offices. Maybe it's because you do not have the function of roaming profile (which is integrated into vWorkspace) or your users want to install and customize workstations with their own applications, both of which I discourage because it adds value to these virtual desktops and then you need a cluster for HA and you need to think about backups. For me to go in this direction, you end up losing a lot of advantages of the VDI.

  If your motive is to manage the hyper-v hosts, then I would say that you do not have a cluster, you can find this useful blog.

  The three hyper-v hosts are only for virtual desktops? Where do you think hosting connection vWorkspace brokers and perhaps more importantly the database?

• Timing issues with Intellisync Groupwise blackBerry Smartphones

  I use the Groupwise email client on my work in Windows XP with Novell client environment.  I get the following error during the synchronization of my PEAR BB 8100: Application connection failed. Check the user name and password.

  I checked the password and user name with the GW account and added to synchronize > config > Setup > calendar/address book (several I might add).  I need to specify an order of groupwise connection?  I have to add any command to point to the post office switch?

  Initializes the synchronization, then when it tries to access GW addressbook, its failure.  Any ideas, anyone?

• Novell NDS CA and EAP - TLS

  Hi all

  I configured an ACS Server 4.1 with Novell CA authentication certificate. internal to the ACS server works very well and the group maps also works without problems.

  Now, the customer wants to use eap - tls in the wlan configuration. Authentication with user name and password works fine. If I activate the validate the certificate of the server in the windows xp wireless configuration settings, that I do not have access to the network. I get an error message on the client and in the journal of the CSA, I see an error with eap - tls ssl handshake!

  Are there problems with certificates of AC novell and novell?

  Any ideas?

• PIX VPN authentication

  I see options to authenticate users VPN on Radius, Ganymede +, local or using a VPN group. Is - this from there anyway to authenticate on a NT domain, Active Directory by Microsoft or Novell eDirectory directory service?

  Cannot find details in the configuration guide.

  Thanks for your question. In fact, PIX is not built in API unlike VPN 3 K to send the authentication request directly to the devices you mentioned. PIX has the RADIUS / Ganymede + API and that is why its need to use an AAA server that supported Radius/Ganymede. AAA Cisco Secure Server can be integrated with all deviecs you mentioned. You can point your PIX to the Cisco Secure AAA server and he will forward the application to the database you mentioned in your post.

  I need to provide the VPN solution for nearly 2,000 remote users. Two main factors are remote desktop (so from home, users can use their desktop PC) and access to the protected servers. All this must be by VPN. My question is about the ability and compatibility.

  1)

  PIX 515 is sufficient for users of this number? What of 525? Or I have to go with the VPN concentrator? Advantages and disadvantages?

  2)

  Can I integrate VPN with Novell E-Directory for user management device? What about SUN1 directory? Or the RADIUS? PREFFERED solution would integrate with EDirectory.

  Please send your comments or suggestions. Any help is highly appreciated.

  The 515 both the 525 can support 2000 simultaneous tunnels. Therefore, you could do with the 515. However, I think that a VPN concentrator suitable for the task at hand. The hub is designed for exactly this kind of installation. The advantage of using the VPN concentrator, it is that he would facilitate the management of this large number of usersmuch.   I took Frank Nimphius security for everyone and enabled to work with a Cluster of WLS + eDirectory LDAP. I was able to make it work on a pre-production (Cluster, HA, LBS, etc) environment.
  The way I did was:
  Configure the WLS to LDAP
  * Let JAAS to do the rest of the security
  * Follow the advice of Frank when I have the application was sent
  
  But now I need to implement single sing and Sign Out. on each ADF Applications that I will develop.
  To do this, I choose to SAML 2.0.
  Over the years I have another supplier is, I don't have to really worry about implementation of SSO, I just modify the WLS and "speaking with my new provider of security."
  
  I've worn to a point where I am able to set up a Standalone WLS + unit of Novell Access Manager 3.2 on my laptop and ran a Servelt demo that comes with Novell. This servlet must be able to read some statements.
  
  Now I'm stuck on two things:
  
  1. I am not able to configure application of Frank and make it work for SAML 2.0
  2. a RDM are need when WLS is clusted and SAML 2.0 want to be configured. I have no documentation of fürthen to configure WSL + ADF in order to be able to work according to the standards of SAML 2.0.
  
  If anyone of you has a few entries, I'll be very grateful.
  
  I can share my notes about how I configured Access Manager from Novell and do work the example provided by Novell.

• LDAP synchronization issue

  I configured OUD as LDAP Sync with OIM 11 g 2. I am able to push users of the IOM to the OUD. But we have some users exist in OUD before sync LDAP is configured. As LDAP Sync is bidirectional, we must make all users of the OUD to the IOM.
  
  But I do not see the Scheduler tasks that can extract data from OUD to IOM. I would like to know if any task scheduler is available to users of pull of the OUD to the IOM.
  
  Can someone throw some tips?

  If there is not a scheduled task, have you considered using 11g Oracle Internet Directory Connector. He is certified against the following directories:

  Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition 11g release 1 (11.1.1.5.0)
  Oracle Directory Unified 11g release 2 (11.1.1.5.0 and 11.1.2.0.0)
  Oracle Internet Directory version 9.x, 10.1.4.x and 11g release 1 (11.1.1.6.0)

  You can install just the piece recon trust to bring all of your users. You can then run the tasks you have already listed. This will happen your step to bring all users in IOM, then your next steps to push information Oud for those that did not exist in the directory.

  Priority of access policy, you can set the execution... order, if they are dependent on each other, IE one cannot exist without the other, you can make them dependent on using the tab "depends on" the object resource...

  If you do not want to depend on the RO, then you will need to belonging to a group in the order so that the fire access policies in order.
