VZ500PA #ABG: upgrading Ram Pavilion dv7 3008TX

I'm running maps of 2 x 4 GB Ram (DDR 3 1066 MHz) for a total of 8 GB. I find that the system is 'Suspended' for example regukarly "Firefox does not. I have 2 x 500 GB HDD that has about 60% of free space. The system is heavily used for Photoshop activities with 300 to 500 MB file sizes.

Is it possible to replace these cards with 2 x 8 GB DDR 3 1066 MHz for a total of 16GB?

Thank you

Bob

    Hello

I believe that your laptop memory is DDR2, if that's the case, DDR3 won't work (or made) because they are physically different modules

This is the upgrade for you mobile recommended by Crucial

Check the memory you already have installed using CPU-Z - when it is installed, launch the application, click the SPD tab (if it shows nothing change memory slot selection in the drop-down list box) and check if your memory is displayed as DDR2.

    Hello

    It's a HP Pavilion x 2-10-n138tu:

    http://support.HP.com/SG-en/document/c04855773

It has CPU, RAM, HARD drive... on board means soldered to the motherboard. Only one option: purchase new machine because buying another motherboard can cost more (cost of Council and labour).

It has 1 microSD card reader, you can use this to increade more storage. Very safe to use the card of 64 GB.

    Hi evreyone.

    I have a Pavilion 15-P035NF (J1Y40EA #ABF) with 1 RAM memory 4 GB DDR3L 1600.

I would like to upgrade. But before disassembling the laptop (not simple operation) I would like to know if I have one or two slots available, as such, I can go (16 GB?) and what type of RAM is compatible.

I don't see it in the system of the free laptop because it broke down (my laptop age: 1.5 years...) and I need to replace the hard drive (by a SSD).

If I look in the specific information related to this laptop, HP customer support are not available...

    Can you help me please?

  • Upgrade RAM Pavilion p6-2030

    Hello Forums,

I think to upgrade my Ram on my current computer Pavilion P6-2030.

I think with the purchase of the fury of Kingston HyperX 4 GB 1333 MHz DDr3 CL9 Dimm. (HX313C9FB/4). This will be compatible with the RAM that is already installed and it will work.

    Thank you

    You are welcome.

Yes, that is recommended by Crucial memory should work in your motherboard.  Buy a pair will give you much better performance that I said.  If it was me, I contact their Technical Support and ask them to recommend you the best memory of what you want to do.  These guys are the experts on their memory.  I contact Technical Support for most of the components that I buy.  The components change so quickly OEMs like HP can't stay with her.  As a result, many of the newer components sold won't work even in a two year old computer.

Please click on the Thumbs up button '+' if I helped you and click on "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.

I'm pretty happy with this one, but have problems with little memory and I also want to put in an SSD with 500 GB instead of old 500 GB HARD drive.   Is it possible to upgrade it to usb3 usb2?

I tried to read about the upgrade and think it should be easy to change SSD (Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB SSD) but here of course and that's why I ask if it does not work?

I have 4 GB of memory today and intend to put in 8 GB instead that I very often have problems with Firefox big and others. Is possible and what type of memory and size can I use?

    Hello

1 USB 2.0 to USB 3.0 for a laptop is a change that is very expensive because it will affect to the motherboard to change USB card and even the motherboard itself.

2 RAM: Yes, you can jump to 8 GB of RAM:

    http://h20564.www2.HP.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docid=emr_na-c02575528

Please use Crucial tool, it will scan your machine and tell you RAM adapted. You can buy here or use the information to buy elsewhere:

    http://www.crucial.com/USA/en/systemscanner

3 SSD: Your current HARD drive is very good. If you want to upgrade to an SSD, you can go to her but interms performance/price, that's a little overkilled.

  • HP Pavilion p6240f: upgrade RAM, Pavilion p6240f works not

    Greetings HP community.

Today, I'm working on a HP Pavilion p6240f. I am trying to install (2) 8 GB DDR3 1600 chips.  When I turn on the computer I hear 1 short beep and 1 long beep, which results in an error of memory.  Bought the wrong RAM?  Can I make it work?  I checked the BIOS and it seems that I have the version 5.11 of 29/09/2009 and no other version is available on the product Web page.

    Please help, thanks

    A

    Hello

The motherboard in the p6240f is only spec'd to use 2 GB DIMM modules.

Your first consideration should be Support HP or HP sales during the consideration of upgrades or replacement of memory. If you want to consider other manufacturers of the best way to avoid memory problems is to contact one of the leading manufacturers of memory. I would recommend that you try the tools of these manufacturers: Corsair, Kingston and Crucial. Once you have determined the DIMMs that you need, then contact commercial or technical support to check that you have selected the correct DIMMS. If you buy directly from manufacturers, then they will stand behind their products.

  • How to upgrade my pavilion dv7 HP 6000? CPU? Memory?

I would like to know if there's another AMD processor that can make my computer faster and if it will be worthy to do.

    Thank you.

N ° it is technically possible, but you don't have to do. Consider a SSD instead. If you need to upgrade CPU, it takes the exact processor, you have so we can see if there is even a faster or if you have already the fastest. Memory can be useful if you have less than 8 GB.

  • HP Pavilion dv7 3150eq Upgrade of RAM

    Hello

I intend to upgrade the memory of my machine, but I can't seem to find the manufacturer and the speed of the current. I would like to buy exactly the same.

My laptop is HP Pavilion DV7 Entertainment PC 3150eq, currently, it has 4 GB and supports up to 8. Looked the specifications, but the only information it has 4 GB of DD3 RAM and the motherboard supports up to 8 GB of RAM. It does not say how many slots is 2, 4, etc.

Anyone know who is the manufacturer and the speed of the RAM memory installed on the laptop model? And if not to much to ask, how many slots memory is on the motherboard?

    Thank you

    I. Hinov

    Hello

Normally, each laptop has 2 slots for RAM. You can use the following information:

    Memory type: DDR3 PC3-10600, DDR3 PC3-8500, DDR3 (non - ECC)
    Maximum memory: 8 GB - Slots: 2
Each slot of memory can hold DDR3 PC3-10600, DDR3 PC3-8500 with a maximum of 4 GB per slot.

  • Pavilion dv7-6b76eo: upgrade of RAM HP Pavilion dv7-6b76eo

I created a thread really well here and received great help from @Paul_Tikkanen so if he or someone else could help me, that would be great. Don't know why I can't post a reply in this thread again. They either closed the thread or I'm blind. In any case, I have the HP Pavilion dv7-6b76eo and plan an upgrade of RAM. Currently I have samsung 2 x 4 Go PC3-10600 / DDR3-1333.

    1. I think go to ddr4, but what keeps me is some threads I have read saying ddr4 won't even in good physical shape in a ddr3 slot (which is my current) as well as this piece of info from Wikipedia:

DDR4 SO-DIMM have 260 pines (instead of 204 pin DDR3), which are evenly spaced more close (0.5, rather than 0.6 mm) and are 2.0 mm wider (69.6 against 67.6 mm), but still the same 30 mm in height.

    Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDR4_SDRAM

    • 204-pin SO-DIMM (DDR3) have a single notch closest in the center than at 200-pin SO-DIMM.
    • 260-pin SO-DIMM (DDR4), 69.6 mm (2,74 in.) wide and 30 mm (1.2 inches) in height, making it wider than the DDR3 SO-DIMM, with one notch after pin 2 mm 144 (0,079 in.).

    Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SO-DIMM

This means that a chip of RAM SODIMM ddr4 wouldn't even in good physical shape in the slot of my laptop?

    2. well, okay... If I have to make my peace with her and stay with DDR3 can I at LEAST faster DDR3 install i.e. PC3-17000 / DDR3-2133 because my current a PC3-10600 / DDR3-1333 is sorta slow sometimes?

Thanks in advance and would really appreciate an answer to the question 1 and 2 above!

    @nematsvehclav

    I couldn't say with certainty.

But I have yet to see a 16 GB memory for a laptop card. "Yet."

  • Upgrade Ram on a HP PAVILION DV7

Salvation was curious what kind of ram was ok to upgrade with.

I tried to look at the site of suppport for this question but was unsuccessful. However if I missed it please tell me the correct link

    My laptop is:

Description of the model: HP PAVILION DV7 - 6143CL

    Model number: LW181UA

    Running: Windows 7 64-bit

    I visited this site: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02863115

If it does, this is the page of the plug for my laptop.

It is said that it takes DDR3 and up to a maximum of 16 GB.

However when I look at the DDR3 memory for laptops, I find plenty of options in terms of speed and latency cases.

Modules of memory DDR3 SO-DIMM will work?

Or a period of latency, speed and all will be better for my system than the others?

    Thanks for all the help!

The upgrade is to go to the Web sites of memory well known manufacturers and see what they have to offer for your laptop. (Corsair, Crucial, Kingston and OCZ are a few well known memory andf respected manufacturers)

Do a Google search like I did to see what is available and find the market price. Once you know which specific modules are then you can contact the stores to see which ones they have.

    https://www.google.com/search?q=HP+PAVILION+DV7-6143CL+upgrade+memory&oq=HP+PAVILION+DV7-6143CL+upgrade+memory&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i64.7781j0j4&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=122&ie=UTF-8#q=hp+pavilion+dv7+ram+upgrade&revid=171357479

Purchase memory modules only well-known state of manufactured products is guaranteed compatible memory for your laptop. If you don't like that then you are taking a gamble.

If you try to upgrade by looking at the specifications document, so you will probably find that the memory modules that you choose will disappoint you and cause your laptop to not start Windows.

"DDR3 SO-DIMM memory modules will work?" They must be specific and have been tested with your laptop. That's how important memory manufacturers are able to guarantee compatibility with the module.
