[w530] BOOTMGR missing

Hello everyone,

I was recovering the default factory system and by mistake I stopped the process. After that I tried to turn it on, but I got the error message BOOTMGR missing... I used a software to reinstall bootmgr, so now I can start windows but when I try to restore the system to factory default (by pressing F11 at startup) I get the same message "BOOTMGR." missing

Any body know how to fix the bootmgr so that recovery utility works again?

Thank you very much!

    Hello

In my opinion, this message if poster because the laptop does not boot from optical disc, but tried to boot from the HARD drive.
Are you sure that you booted from the CD/DVD drive?

In case you are sure that the laptop started from the disk recovery inserted, then in my opinion the new ordered 100% the drive is faulty. You must contact the provider and replace the drive

    Hello

The bootmgr missing error appears because the recovery procedure hasn t done and the former a bootmgr was destroyed.

It seems that your second DVD is not readable without apparent reason.

Maybe you could try to recover the laptop using the recovery of HARD drive option.
Maybe the partition was not damaged during the procedure of recovery DVD.

Then, press F8 after that laptop has been powered. Choose the first option called fix my computer. Choose the last option Toshiba Recovery and try to recover the laptop HARD drive.
If it doesn t work then you could boot from the original Vista DVD and could try to repair the boot manager.

In the worst cases, you need to reinstall the OS from Microsoft's Vista DVD or you order a new Recovery DVD from Toshiba.

    Good luck

    Hello

I have a Satellite L300D crashed on me the other day, now, when I boot the message I get is "BOOTMGR MISSING".

    Anyone has any ideas.
I tried again to load XP but it does not load

    See you soon,.

    Hello

The MISSING BOOTMGR error message means that the Boot Manager cannot be found and that's why the windows cannot be started again

How have you tried to load Win XP?
Have you tried to boot from the CD of Win or have you tried to boot Win XP preinstalled?

Generally, the installation of Win XP CD should fix you.
But you can also try start the console BACK (you need to start the CD of Win XP then should R for repair)
On the BACK, you can try the command: * fixboot *.

    Hi MicheyJ,

-What version of Windows has been installed previously?

Windows XP does not Bootmgr. I suggest you to rebuild using the installation CD startup files:

    1. start the recovery console.
    2. run "bootcfg /rebuild.
You will receive a message similar to the following:
    Total identified Windows installs: 1
    [1] C:\Windows
Add installation to boot list? (Yes, no, all)
    3. press on "y" then "enter".
4 when you see "Enter load identifier" type the name of the operating system (this name is arbitrary and is just a label for found installation) and press "Enter."
    5. when the "Enter OS Load Options" appears type "/ fastdetect" and press "Enter."
    6. exit the recovery console to see if the problem is resolved

Let us know the status of the issue.

    Hello

    1. you are trying to install Windows XP by using the bootable USB key?

Check if the sequence of the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) is set to boot to the operating system from the USB key.

For more information get in touch with the manufacturer of the system.

  • Laptop computer shows BOOTMGR missing after running system back to factory State

I have a HP Pavilion Entertainment notebook model #dv7 cl 3163. First of all, I must say that I am a beginner user. My problem started with a low battery problem. Then, using recovery mgr. I first ran to the top of disks and then tried system restore. During which it stops. When I tried to restart it initially said something about starting like new from the factory. Then it said could not load the windows program. I contacted hp and tech had me buy a phone holder 1 year plan. Had me then go th the Recovery Manager and select restore to the original image. During which he gave this message. Recovery Manager cannot restore computer using the fzctory image. Please contact HP support. 0xe0ef0003 error code. He said that meant, that I need a new hard drive. Now when I turn it on it says BOOTMGR missing. Use ctrl del apt at the beginning but who doesn't. It doesn't do anything. The technology would be good? Is there a way I can check my drive first? Or another way to tell? It was not the original problem so I am not confident in its determination. Should I be?

Immediately after turning the power on, press the ESC key. This should bring up a menu which F2 is what you choose. Use Diagnostics to test your hard drive.

  • «BOOTMGR missing press ctrl, alt, delete to restart»

Original title: Acer Aspire computer desktop slimline AX1800.

Hey, I just bought an Acer Aspire AX1800 E5200 brocante slimline desktop computer since it was flea market I wanted to wipe it to factory, so I could start over, in any case, I thought id a back up just in case he went sour (innocent'myass cover) however end 80 percent to save the computer restarted and then a black screen comes up saying "BOOTMGR missing press ctrl alt. , Del to restart ".and say now every start I FINALLY tried to put windows 7 or 8 on it (its runnin Vista Home Basic), but given what happened to im thinking I could just finish nd done with, tell me there's a very easy way to fix."

    Thanks in advance :)

    Hello

You need to reinstall the operating system with a computer, second hand that you don't know what it was used for, legally or illegally.

With an Acer press you left ALT F10 to start the recovery process.

    http://Acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/A_ID/2631

Use the following steps to start the system recovery:

    1. Restart the computer.
    2. When the Acer logo appears on the screen, press the left Alt and F10 keys.
    3. If you are prompted with a Microsoft Windows splash screen, press the Enter key.
    4. After that the Acer eRecovery Management application is loaded, select your type of restore.
    5. Read the review and then click Next when you are ready.
    6. Click next to start the restore process. Restoration can last from 10 minutes up to an hour.
    7. Once the recovery is complete your computer will load Windows and start the installation of your software and drivers. Your computer may restart several times during this process. Once they are all completed, your computer will be like it was when you bought it first.

If the steps above do not work, you will need to use recovery media to restore your system.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks (if they still...

They should do this for a small fee.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

"How to activate Vista normally and by Activation of the phone '

  • Operating system not found while recorvery troubleshooting + BootMgr missing.

I did everything in my power to try to get this computer to work again. With vista, it's a giant paper weight. I posted here because it is located between the category of drivers and the system recovery.

So, this is what happens... My laptop no longer works a year ago and I failed to fix and abandoned, but this time I have been putting everything I got to fixing. Firstly I had to buy a drive for recovery because that buy thanks to hp in tight bundles and by including only not with the laptop. Drive me out of the area of the black screen in the recovery screen. When you click on the menu comes up saying select the repair disk that you want to repair, and there is nothing on the list so revealing that the computer does not even recognize his own operating system. To fix this madness, I opened and check the panels to ensure that everything has been properly connected it was. After that, I did a reading even more and tried to fix it manually via command prompt, a few hours later I finally understand that it won't work because there is no recognized for her fix operating system. More read later, that I tried to use a parking program called gparted, I wrote to a disk, put it in the computer and restart, the drive is not recognized and I get to square one... Bootmgr missing

    Hello

Check the link posted in the last answer, and others in the previous troubleshooting methods.

Repair the Windows Vista boot loader
    http://NeoSmart.NET/wiki/display/EBCD/repairing+the+Windows+Vista+bootloader

It is trying everything, race to the bottom of the list one by one.

You can also try to do a clean install, check with the system manufacturer who will sell the disc not expensive
    Since you already own windows.

    I hope this helps.
