Waiting for database and database representations

Hello

I had an interesting error this morning with our database awaiting. The database has been running stable and regularly for at least 12 months, when this morning the erroneous synchronization due to the standby database incarnation is different from the primary database. I have reset the day before the incarnation as main and synchronization has managed to carry out.

Primary incarnations:

I know that the incarnation is reset to zero during a resetlogs, but I wonder if there is any other instance where this might be the case?

The only thing that this is happened yesterday I think could possible happen, is that I made a Datapump Export of the primary database and imported into a new base of 11 GR 2.

  • waiting for CPU and cpu ready

    Hello

    We have very high CPU wait times on our virtual machines (19000ms).

    We have also very low cpu ready time (20ms)

    I did notice on one of the 2 networks performance issues

    I was hoping someone could give, in terms laymans terms, a definition of waiting for cpu and cpu ready.   The technical definitions I've seen online were not very clear to me.

    Also - who would be initially high such a timeout of the CPU on the virtual machines?  It seems to be that the same time limit on all the VMs on the server whether or not they have 1 vcpu and memory 2 or how much they were awarded.

    Info about our server:

    HP Proliant ML350G6

    CPU cores: 4CPus x 2,555 GHz

    Processor type: Intel Xeon processor x 5550 @ 2.67 Ghz

    processor socets 1:

    Logical processors: 8

    Hyperthreading: assets

    No vm: 33 (especially Server 2003 Server VM)

    Enjoying any assistance.

    Kind regards

    Simon

    CPU wait time is the time a virtual machine did get on demand, but the processor has

    Nothing in the process and so the CPU to simply waiting for then the time scheduled for the virtual

    machine clicks by.

    CPU Ready is the time that the virtual machine is ready, but could not get scheduled to run on the physical processor.

    Bascially ready cpu the prompt is queued on the host computer, waiting for cpu means that the host is queued on the prompt.

  • Waiting for database v$ archived_log applied watch no..

    Dear all,

    I'm new to the concept of eve of Oracle. Recently, I have configured Physical Standby Database.

    Whenever I run Switch logfile in the main entrance, in v$ archived_log standby is reflected and archive log file got copy.

    But all archived journal on applied shows no. report.

    When I run recover Standby Database, oracle wonder for sequence 2 journal which is not yet available on the primary.

    Is it possible to ignore the sequence of log in standby mode or any workaround for this?

  • error when installing database waiting for database

    Hello

    I copy the primary database to the standby database server.

    But when I mount the database command below, then I get the error message.

    ALTER database base_de_donnees eve of Mount;

    ORA-00201: control version of the 11.2.0.0.0 file that is incompatible with the version of ORACLE
    10.2.0.2.0
    ORA-00202: control file: ' / u02/app/oracle/oradata/standby/control01.ctl'

    What is the reason for this error.

    Thanks in advance.

    Binary files (ORACLE_HOME) are the version 10.2
    But the database (datafiles) come from a database of 11.2

    You cannot use 10.2 binary to mount a database 11.2.
    You must install 11.2 (preferably to the same patch as the source database level) and then use this new ORACLE_HOME to mount the database pending.

    Any help would be very useful.

    I think the problem is that I use USE_DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST for the location of the archivelogs, instead of a file system location.

    Thanls in advance.

    Diego;

    Thanks for the reply. At this point, I think that we are the retailer to death.
    His time probably on the occasion of this question as answered.

    If you had a "previous incarnation' this will return false results for awhile:

    select max(sequence#) from v$log;

    Use this:

    Check to ensure that the physical database is not running correctly

    On the standby database, query the V$ARCHIVED_LOG view to identify existing files
    in the archived redo log.

    SELECT
      SEQUENCE#,
      FIRST_TIME,
      NEXT_TIME,
      APPLIED
    FROM
      V$ARCHIVED_LOG
    ORDER
      BY SEQUENCE#;

    On the Primary force a log switch

    ALTER SYSTEM SWITCH LOGFILE;

    On the standby run the query again :

    SELECT
      SEQUENCE#,
      FIRST_TIME,
      NEXT_TIME,
      APPLIED
    FROM
      V$ARCHIVED_LOG
    ORDER
      BY SEQUENCE#;

    If you find this or anything else useful please mark as well.

  • When I type some characters often do not appear but if I wait for awhile and tap them again once they appear.

    This happens in all programs that I can type, (e-mail, WP). Sometimes I can type the characters if I come back, space or both using the arrow key and then forward and try again.

    Laura V:

    Thanks for your help. It was a very frustrating experience, not being is not in a position to have all the I type characters appear. I did a full scan and who was clean. I was not able to boot mode safe then I deleted all the programs that I installed for several months, but the problem of many characters not appearing not when I typed persistent. I was about to bite the bullet and to restore an image of my C drive from a hard drive external when I decided, just for completeness, to test the keyboard. I unplugged my wireless Logitech keyboard and plugged an old keyboard. Eureka! Typing all appeared OK. What a relief. I think that the rf in my wireless keyboard transmitter was at fault and that it was not send all the characters I typed. I should have checked the keyboard first, but it was only 3.5 years old and I couldn't believe that it went wrong so little time. All's well that ends well. Thanks again.

  • Waiting for connection during vMotion

    Problem is when I have a Windows VM running, about 78% of vMotion

    I get a black screen with the message "waiting for connection" and wheels that

    does the trick for about 5-10 seconds until the display returns and vMotion

    complete.

    The environment is a configuration of network isolated for demo

    purposes only. Setup has two identical Dell R710 as hosts and Dell

    ISCSI EqualLogic PS5000 storage. Network configuration is NIC 1 = mgt; NIC2 = network

    traffic; NIC3 is iSCSI to nothing verified EqualLogic-kernel port.; NIC4 = vMotion-kernel

    verified port with vMotion. All are connected to a single GigE of D-Link switch

    with CAT6 cables. There is only one active machine, one being migrated through

    vMotion. I can migrate the virtual computer when it is not running smoothly.

    We know that the environment is not ideal, but it should work. He

    is hard to believe that the network configuration would be so saturated that it

    wait times.

    Any ideas to get this to work would be welcome.

    I forgot to add that the version of VMware ESX 4.1.

    Welcome to the Forums - are you using the VMware Forums? If you are what you notice is the transfer from the source to destination esx - the console vmware esx console is a function of the esx/esxi Server - try to connect via RDP and you shouldn't see any drop.

  • Waiting for redo log file missing when restore main database using RMAN backup that was taken on the database physical standby

    Here's my question after tons of research and test without have the right solutions.

    Target:

    (1) I have a 12.1.0.2 database unique main enterprise 'testdb' as database instance running on the server "node1".

    (2) I created physical standby database "stbydb" on the server "node2".

    (3) DataGuard running on the mode of MaxAvailability (SYNC) with roll forward in real time 12 default c apply.

    (4) primary database has 3 groups of one-man redo. (/oraredo/testdb/redo01.log redo02.log redo03.log)

    (5) I've created 4 standby redo logfiles (/oraredo/testdb/stby01.log stby02.log stby03.log stby04.log)

    (6) I do RMAN backup (database and archivelog) on the site of relief only.

    (7) I want to use this backup for full restore of the database on the primary database.

    He is a DR test to simulate the scenario that has lost every primary & Eve total servers.

    Here is how to save, on the database pending:

    (1) performance 'alter database recover managed standby database Cancel' to ensure that compatible data files

    (2) RMAN > backup database;

    (3) RMAN > backup archivelog all;

    I got elements of backup and copied to primary db Server something like:

    /Home/Oracle/backupset/o1_mf_nnndf_TAG20151002T133329_c0xq099p_.BKP (data files)

    /Home/Oracle/backupset/o1_mf_ncsnf_TAG20151002T133329_c0xq0sgz_.BKP (spfile & controlfile)

    /Home/Oracle/backupset/o1_mf_annnn_TAG20151002T133357_c0xq15xf_.BKP (archivelogs)

    So here's how to restore, on the main site:

    I clean all the files (data files, controlfiles oder all gone).

    (1) restore spfile from pfile

    RMAN > startup nomount

    RMAN > restore spfile from pfile ' / home/oracle/pfile.txt' to ' / home/oracle/backupset/o1_mf_ncsnf_TAG20151002T133329_c0xq0sgz_.bkp';

    (2) modify pfile to convert to db primary content. pFile shows below

    *.audit_file_dest='/opt/Oracle/DB/admin/testdb/adump '

    * .audit_trail = "db".

    * full = '12.1.0.2.0'

    *.control_files='/oradata/testdb/control01.ctl','/orafra/testdb/control02.ctl'

    * .db_block_size = 8192

    * .db_domain = "

    * .db_name = "testdb".

    * .db_recovery_file_dest ='/ orafra'

    * .db_recovery_file_dest_size = 10737418240

    * .db_unique_name = "testdb".

    *.diagnostic_dest='/opt/Oracle/DB '

    * .fal_server = "stbydb".

    * .log_archive_config = 'dg_config = (testdb, stbydb)'

    * .log_archive_dest_2 = "service = stbydb SYNC valid_for = (ONLINE_LOGFILE, PRIMARY_ROLE) db_unique_name = stbydb'"

    * .log_archive_dest_state_2 = 'ENABLE '.

    *.log_file_name_convert='/testdb/','/testdb /'

    * .memory_target = 1800 m

    * .open_cursors = 300

    * runoff = 300

    * .remote_login_passwordfile = "EXCLUSIVE."

    * .standby_file_management = "AUTO".

    * .undo_tablespace = "UNDOTBS1.

    (3) restart db with updated file pfile

    SQLPLUS > create spfile from pfile='/home/oracle/pfile.txt'

    SQLPLUS > the judgment

    SQLPLUS > startup nomount

    (4) restore controlfile

    RMAN > restore primary controlfile to ' / home/oracle/backupset/o1_mf_ncsnf_TAG20151002T133329_c0xq0sgz_.bkp';

    RMAN > change the editing of the database

    (5) all elements of backup catalog

    RMAN > catalog starts by ' / home/oracle/backupset / '.

    (6) restore and recover the database

    RMAN > restore database;

    RMAN > recover database until the SNA XXXXXX; (this YVERT is the maximum in archivelog backups that extends beyond the scn of the backup of the data file)

    (7) open resetlogs

    RMAN > alter database open resetlogs;

    Everything seems perfect, except one of the file log roll forward pending is not generated

    SQL > select * from v$ standby_log;

    ERROR:

    ORA-00308: cannot open archived log ' / oraredo/testdb/stby01.log'

    ORA-27037: unable to get file status

    Linux-x86_64 error: 2: no such file or directory

    Additional information: 3

    no selected line

    I intended to use the same backup to restore primary basic & helps record traffic and the downtime between them in the world of real output.

    So I have exactly the same steps (except STANDBY restore CONTROLFILE and not recover after database restore) to restore the database pending.

    And I got the same missing log file.

    The problem is:

    (1) complete alert.log filled with this error, not the concern here

    (2) now repeat it in real time apply won't work since the Party shall LGWR shows always "WAITING_FOR_LOG."

    (3) I can't delete and re-create this log file

    Then I tried several and found:

    The missing standby logfile was still 'ACTIVE' at present RMAN backup was made.

    For example, on db standby, under Group #4 (stby01.log) would be lost after the restoration.

    SQL > select GROUP #, SEQUENCE #, USE (s), the STATUS from v$ standby_log;

    GROUP # SEQUENCE # USED STATUS

    ---------- ---------- ---------- ----------

    4 19 ACTIVE 133632

    5 0 0 UNASSIGNED

    6 0 0 not ASSIGNED

    7 0 0 UNASSIGNED

    So until I take the backup, I tried on the primary database:

    SQL > alter system set log_archive_dest_state_2 = delay;

    This was the Group of standby_log side Eve #4 was released:

    SQL > select GROUP #, SEQUENCE #, USE (s), the STATUS from v$ standby_log;

    GROUP # SEQUENCE # USED STATUS

    Then, the backup has been restored correctly without missing standby logfile.

    However, to change this primary database means break DataGuard protection when you perform the backup. It's not accept on the production environment.

    Finally, my real questions come:

    (1) what I do may not do on parameter change?

    (2) I know I can re-create the control file to redo before delete and then recreate after. Is there any simple/fast to avoid the standby logfile lost or recreate the lost one?

    I understand that there are a number of ways to circumvent this. Something to keep a copy of the log file waiting restoration progress and copy up one missing, etc, etc...

    And yes I always have done no real-time applies "to the aid of archived logfile" but is also not accept mode of protection of production.

    I just want proof that the design (which is displayed in a few oracle doc Doc ID 602299.1 is one of those) that backs up data backup works effectively and can be used to restore the two site. And it may be without spending more time to resume backups or put the load on the primary database to create the database before.

    Your idea is very much appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Hello

    1--> when I take via RMAN backup, RMAN does not redo log (ORL or SRL) file, so we cannot expect ORLs or SRL would be restored.

    2nd--> when we opened the ORL database should be deleted and created

    3rd--> Expecting, SRL should not be an issue.we should be able to do away with the fall.

  • Grid below: various UNIX users for grid and databases?

    Hello

    I am trying to install 11 GR 2 + (Standard Edition 11.2.0.3) + with the grid Infrastructure (we use ASM) on a brand new RHEL5 (64B).
    When I'm done with this one I'll have to do the 'same' several regional advisory councils of 2 knots and other single-instances.

    As stated in the official documentation, I created 2 separate unix, named grid and oracleusers.
    -Grid is the owner of the grid below
    -Oracle is the owner of the RDBMS
    +(They both have oinstall As Primary Group) +.

    They both share the same ORACLE_BASE (that is + / oracle + in my case)
    But as this directory was created by the user to the network (with umask 022), the oracle user does not have permission to write to this directory.

    Therefore, the installation of RDBMS is a failure (so I added the write privilege to the user oracle on ORACLE_BASE)
    I also had to give the privilege of writing on c++ / oracle / product + and + / oracle / cfgtoollogs + to go throught RDBMS installation and dbca.
    Now, when Nicole netca, she complains c++ / oracle/cfgtoollogs/netca +...

    Just to illustrate, it is that the c++ / oracle + is currently:
    $ ls -l /oracle/
    total 60
    drwxrwx---  5 grid   oinstall  4096 Mar 19 10:45 admin
    drwxrwxr-x  7 grid   oinstall  4096 Mar 15 17:31 cfgtoollogs
    drwxr-xr-x  2 grid   oinstall  4096 Mar  9 18:21 checkpoints
    drwxr-xr-x  2 grid   oinstall  4096 Mar  9 18:16 Clusterware
    drwxrwxr-x 11 grid   oinstall  4096 Mar 12 12:23 diag
    drwxrwxr-x  2 oracle oinstall 16384 Feb 20 15:36 lost+found
    drwxrwx---  6 grid   oinstall  4096 Mar 12 18:55 oraInventory
    drwxrwxr-x  3 grid   oinstall  4096 Mar  9 18:12 product
    drwxr-xr-x  3 grid   oinstall  4096 Mar  9 18:16 sodbdd28
    drwxrwxr-x 10 oracle oinstall  4096 Mar 12 18:00 sources
    Of course, it's no big deal and I might be chmod-ing occur each directory to which this question, but I feel "bad practices."
    We are talking about production machines that I might have to administer for some time and I don't want to "bolt" or "poorly designed" day 1.

    I saw him on most of the installation of RAC 11 GR 2, her infra grid and RDBMS have been installed on the same user unix (oracle), which makes administration easier.

    What I want to know is:
    -What is the best of a +(by DBA I mean in charge of both ASM and databases) point of view s/n +.
    -There's an official paper which recommends to NOT to serve distinct user grid infra and RDBMS +(or at least something to say wheither it's safe/supported or not to use a single user) +.

    Thanks in advance to all who will have on their time to help me.

    Hello

    Wouldn't be safe / smart to opt for a single unix users, always have different home for GridInfra and RDBMS?

    Have different OH (ORACLE_HOME) on the GRID (clusterware) and RDBMS is required. Have different OB (ORACLE_BASE) on the GRID and RDBMS is recommended by Oracle, but you have a possibility to place the GRID and RDBMS on OB. even

    If the issue is users:

    It really depends on how and who will manage your Cluster environment. I believe that for every choice, we have a reason for this choice.

    So, if you have a cluster with many users of OS (operator / DBA / Sysadmin) access to this system... I recommend you to use Job separation of roles, this keep your environment more organized and secure.

    But if the user (Sysadmin/DBA) who will be responsible for administering the Oracle database is the same who will manage the grid... I don't get to use the separation of job roles.

    Although for use separation job roles really made a difference for that access through the BONE Cluster resources and ASM... With respect to the binary installation only root has privileges to change.
    In the Oracle introduced 11.2 security version that protects Network Infrastructure installation binary files. This prevents unnecessary changes or access to the OH.
    Change the binary files of the grid infrastructure, to unlock this ORACLE_HOME with root privileges.
    If this security should not be applied to ORACLE_BASE of Installation of the grid. Because this ORACLE_HOME of the GRID must be off ORACLE_BASE. (The documentation does not explain it, suffice it to say that the OB should stay out of the OH)

    P.S/maisons/Oracle Grid Infrastructure for a stand-alone server (Oracle Restart) can be under the Oracle base.

  • Error 1019043 create a sketch for database Pool

    Hello world

    I tried to update an application in Hyperion Planning 11.1.1.3. When I launched it, the following error came

    Error 1019043 create a sketch for database Pool

    I seemed not to be launched; However, when I went to EAS, I found a reestructure running. I did only changes alias in rare dimensions so it should end quickly. Finally, I looked in the APP file and found an OTN and OTL my database files. I've been waiting for hours, but she is unsuccessful and my IND PAG files have not changed. What could I do?

    Kind regards

    Thanks Sreekumar,

    In fact, I tried to stop the application, but as long as it was a reestructure I was unable to do. I tried to stop the services, but it was not possible either. Finally, I decided to restart my server it was a blocking process (I did not see the esssvr or treat) as long as the single file created was OTN.

    After you restart the server, I rebooted services and then applications. Everything seemed normal, in environmental assessments are not the current process and I launched a new reestructure. It was fast as expected at the beginning and he finished properly. With this restructuring, the OTN file has disappeared and only my OTL remained as usual.

    I checked the integrity of the data and metadata and everything is OK.

    Kind regards

  • More than 1 month and always waiting for out of stock keyboard SL410 + Win7)

    Hey I'm worried that the SL410 has a manufacturing defect in the keyboard. When I hit h I hu if I typed w I get \w. This question of strike fault is not present while typing on the keyboard. I'm also waiting on a keyboard of stock since 12/04/10 more than a month. I am so disappointed by the performance of this thinkpad. Also disappointed by the s/h in the replacement keyboard. I have to call, in the request, a service representative customer to help me with my case given the length of time that I've been waiting for my replacement keyboard.

    Hi Peter,.

    Thank you for following it upwards.

    The keyboard has finally arrived for a month and a half after the opening of the issue. When I replaced it, however, the problem persisted - which means there is a whole new motherboard. So this is a note for anyone who reads this thread with a similar problem on a SL410 - it's a motherboard problem, not a keyboard.

    Who had another week to arrive and the laptop is finally usable.

    Overall, it was a very disappointing experience with support from Lenovo. I don't know if it's just the SL range or a sign of things with org Lenovo support in general.

  • Enterprise Manager for database pending?

    Hello

    Does make sense to have enterprise manager is installed on the server of database pending?

    I'm under 11 GR 2 on 64-bit Windows Server 2008R2. I have the primary database (pprd) on a server and backup server (pprd_dr0) on another server.

    I have not (yet) implemented grid control.

    After getting my database ensures working with protection data, there is no Enterprise Manager.  I have that sqlplus to administer it.  Is it wise for me to install the Business Manager on the standby database server? If I do this, wouldn't the patterns and then be out of sync from the primary database (sysman) for example, beating so part of the goal of having the database shall be identical to the primary?

    Or do people in general NOT install EM on the standby database server?

    Thank you

    Hello;

    "Does make sense to have enterprise manager is installed on the standby database server" No. you would only install the agent on the day before in most cases.  (After you commissioning EM of course if you want)

    If you are new to Data Guard running it with SQL for awhile and get the feel of it.

    Later, you can decide if you want to use Data Guard Broker or EM.

    Here's a query to analyze using SQL:
