    Hi rpwerner,

Please use the forum for Support of Vista,

This is a codec package from Microsoft you want to download to see if it will be useful.  Also, try to update your Windows Media Player and Windows Update to get the latest version of the codec required to play the type of media.

You can also use your favorite search engine to look for codec packs available on the web to help you read the content.

  • Someone knows how to get a Walkman NWV-E475 to accept and play protected WMA with DRM audio files?

I bought a new Walkman - NWZ-E475 a few days ago. It's my third Walkman. I use the devices to download audio books from local libraries. Older devices work fine, but the new system said that the WMA audio books cannot be played on this. I can drag and drop them on the device by using Internet Explorer, but they will not play.

He spent about 90 minutes in support of online chat yesterday. People very nice but have not solved the problem.

It's so boring. The Overdrive library software uses slick works as a whistle with the older Walkman (E345 and S545). What is the problem with the news, and what I can do to make it usable?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi Donna,.

Welcome to the community of Sony!

Trying to transfer rights WMA files digital management DRM Windows Media Player. The Walkman player only supports these files when they are transferred through the Windows Media Player software. In addition, Walkman player must be recognized as MTP device. Follow the steps on the below technical support article:

    http://www.KB.Sony.com/selfservice/documentLink.do?externalId=C1003479

However, we cannot guarantee the compatibility, but audiobooks checked through a Web site of the public library and transferred to the drive using their media must be compatible and play back fine. If they do not return, contact the source for more information on compatibility.

Please indicate the only accepted such solution if you find the information useful.

  • Can play.wma files fully but only seconds of .mp3 files on a home network with Windows 7 and WMP 12.0.7601 wireless

    Hello community,

I have a problem with Windows Media Player 12.0.7061 when I try to listen to music through my home network Windows 7.  Windows Media Player has no problem playing the media all types of files locally on the Windows 7 system.  On my home network, .wma files play well through the (Pioneer) wireless speaker, but .mp3 and .mp4 files only play for the first ~ 5 seconds and then the audio stops.  If I wait long enough, Windows Media Player will skip to the next song and continue to play the .wma file.

Is this a problem of DRM?  My home wireless network is too slow to allow .mp3 or .mp4 fully transmit the wireless speaker?

    Thank you!

Problem dealt with.  It's a problem of bandwidth of wireless network.

  • New Sony Walkman NWZ - M464 MM Player installs (to facilitate file transfer) software taskbar on my laptop. . Were wiped out my media files on PC

Since last week, after installing the software MediaGo integrated into my new Media Player Digital Sony Walkman NWZ-E464 - which was to facilitate the transfer between the camera and the PC - I've known everything, but a transport seamless music and photos.  Allegedly, the software is designed to simplify the process by using just one application to streamline the effort.  However, my pictures, and my music are in chaos due to this element.

I lost folders with hundreds of photo files in transfers.  Some are found on the Sony; the other disappeared fronm the laptop.  I have no idea why my Flip videos stills are in past in photos on the device files.   I found MP3 files in some of my document files.  It was last week when I thought that carrying the music from my PC to the Sony.  Now, Windows Media Player will not play CD I insert the optical disc; It does not recognize the artist or the 6 following the statement (I'm connected to the internet at the time).  Tear up or burn?  Out of the question.

After that the unit stopped and stop in the middle of a transport of pictures, and Windows blinking a Code 43 "Windows does not recognize this legacy", I cleared any activity of this kind.  Occasionally my PC screen open these windows (without the trendy Sony) offer me to download codecs.  I searched for what seemed to be executable files (codecs). It turns out that this one was compared to the Sony - exe SRL, I think.  And the other was a JPG file, which could explain why my JPEG photos. have been bailing out.  Anyway, I can't help but wonder why Sony, if he had not the conversion factor to the bottom for the transport of my Windows 7 OS, it does not tell me that this codec SRL? are relevant to a success - if they were still (to 60, it is difficult to keep in touch with tech pace today, and there is a good probability that I don't even know what I'm talking about).

I'm reluctant to run again - even if fixable - MediaGo after this experience.  I want to simply move the computer to the MP3 stuff.  So my question, I guess, if I uninstall the software from the laptop how down it the Sony?  And will she try to reinstall MediaGo on the PC?  Also it is not late to send it back to Amazon, but where he was baptized already, I doubt I have would be allowed to return.  Is it possible to clear the taskbar of the device?  Then I could manage it as an «old fashioned MP3 player»

Please forgive me to babble on... and on... I think that I work only on what could have happened while typing on this subject and arrive at the relevant issues to raise awareness in the light of the situation.  I'd certainly appreciate suggestions raised apart from my point of view of neophyte.  Thanks obstinate by this stroke of mouth and all your relevant ideas and advice will be much appreciated.

    Hello Diallo,

UN-installing MediaGo softwar of the computer that will remove no Walkman.

If you connect the player after removing taskbar of the computer, it might invite you to reinstall MediaGo again.

  • .wma files will not play in WMP11

Suddenly my music wma files will not play in WMP11. I have tried everything I know and read, nothing helps. So far I tried to convert the MP3 files is not working even in these programs (v3.0 have all Audio Recorder being one of them); I tried to delete the ID3 and all the other codes (HeadStrong ID3Kill v1.4), all what has been clear all my songs the album/song. etc - HUGE mistake! I tried to play in RealPlayer - still will not play wma files only mp3s; removed and reset the codecs - nothing happened. so on and so forth.

What in the world is happening? I uninstalled my old version of WMP and installed more current. When I went to play the WMA in WMP11, I get an error that it can not play. It does not itself error code number, only this statement in error. I tried to restore my computer to a date and time earlier, he said that he could not change my Media Player to the previous version.

I have more than 1,000 songs on my computer, I simply can't pull it all back in (for days and days), I copied them on 2 sticks of memory as backup, also HUGE mistake because them copied without albums and song titles.

    Help please!

    ==================================
If your CD player is compatible with MP3... you
can convert the .wma files in the. MP3 format and
create a data CD which should play. You can convert
of .wma to .mp3 with the following free software:
(info on the creation of a CD of data in Windows Media
    Player 11 pasted below article)

(Mp3, Wma, Ogg, Aac, M4a, Ac3, Ape, Flac, Wav)
(FWIW if you install the converter, you can
Uncheck offerings from Yahoo and Dealio) (also... you
may want to uncheck the CD Ripper and the Easy
    MP3 Cutter)

After installing the program... open and drag and drop
on the main screen .wma files...

Choose a backup folder (path of output). Or just leave...
"Save to the directory the file" checked and the new
files will be saved in the folder with the .wma files.

    Choose a format... MP3.

    Left, click Convert.
