Wall/car chargers - Woot today...

http://www.woot.com/ - Philips DLO PowerPack for iPod & iPhone

Power on these chargers acceptable specifications (use your own USB cable, of course)?

Output: 5V, 1A

Yes, it's more than enough. A port USB PC/Mac outputs 5V to 0.5 a, maximum. Higher amperage won't hurt (connected devices will only remove as much current as required) and will reduce the same time charge if the device can pull more of. 5.

But they are now out of print.

  • For iPhone5 and Air2 iPad car chargers

I have 2 iPhone 5 s and 2 iPads. An iPad is iPad Air2 and the other is an older iPad in 4 years. What types of car chargers will maintain loaded safely and as soon as it is reasonable within the limits of the 12V car system?

I have read and received mixed advice.  Chargers vs inverter with usb ports USB and AC.

I was told that a UPS is a more robust type of charger and voltage is better regulated.

So what is the bottom line. Chargers USB or INVERTERS?

    Thanks for some tips.

A good quality of 12 v to 5 V USB adapter is fine, such as Griffin or InCase. Store lists Apple adapter number and everything that you get from Apple has been tested and certified by Apple. Avoid cheap imitations. And unplug the adapter when starting the car unless the car is a hybrid.

EDIT: For the iPad, the adapter should provide at least 2 amps (10 watts).

  • Are these chargers FRY my Sansa Clip +?

Hello, after doing a lot of research in the USB wall and car chargers I find many stories of fries Sansa Clips in all directions. I have read and understood 5 volts is the limit for this camera, but I can't find the specifications listed anywhere and I am very confused as to what a safe charger would be together. There are a ton of them in the Amazon, but they do not necessarily list their specs, and most of them is not yet affiliated with SanDisk. I live in the United States and I don't own a cell phone, so I'm ignorant by complimenting the USB Chargers. I would appreciate some comments.

Caveat Emptor on any one of these gadgets.  Only plug do not tell the whole story.  Sellers who such things in stock are known for his replacement by products by manufacturers without a name.  Everything just because the specs say they are within tolerances, does not mean that the product will be.

This is one time I would spend an extra dollar or two and get something locally by a merchant of trust.

  • Car charger for Droid - my profile

I know that the original charger has a 850 spec mA, but most car chargers do not (as well as most wall Chargers).  Search, I see two contradictory principles.  One is that a slower presentation for lithium batteries is actually better for the life of the battery.  Yet others say that if the charger does not know that the unit will try to attract, the charger can overheat and may fail.  The manual of Motorola said only that for battery charging you must use Motorola Chargers, but shippers listed on the for the Droid Motorola Web site do not meet the 850 my and are of course chargers for another model.  Motorola someone all advice on that?

I gave you a clear answer.   It is that the full current nominal is 850ma.  The two instructions that you seem to find contradictory are not.   The droid needs 850ma to recharge his rhythm quickest.  It will load more slowly with lower currents or perhaps not at all.  The droids (and other smartphones) need more or less depending on what they do and 850ma provides enough to load and do something else.

It is what is the charger supplied to you and what the relative rating that it was.  I think that if you buy a Motorola charger they support for the Droid, he will say that.  The warranty says only to use Motorola Chargers.  (although I personally don't always follow it) and, as Motorola brings many cell phones (some with the same connector)... Make sure that the charger you get specifically States it is intended to be used with the droid.

I also told him that you could use a charger with less than 850 ma, but it will not load as fast.  If you go down, it will be not at all.

Yes, Motorola made 850ma rated Chargers.  Is one supplied with your phone. You can read the right side on it.  It's the 'exit' not heat output.  Chargers for smart phones of all types are usually 850ma.   I suspect that what is meant by 'Fast rate' is that they put out the 850ma that is needed.  The Chargers that work as low as 500ma can work in some cases, but I don't recommend them.

Just in case you need a final bit of clarity... 850ma puts the charger supplied with the droid by Motorola.    I don't know of a smartphone seller with less than 850ma charger which comes with their phones either.

  • car charger

    1. car battery charger damage iPhone 6 is it?

    2. What is the best, fast and safe car charger?

Cheap car charger can damage the battery. Get one that is certified Made for iPhone. Griffin and InCase the two make reliable car chargers. The Apple online store sells several others.

On the thing to do as a precaution - do not start the car with the phone connected. Connect to the phone after starting the car, because the starter on some cars can generate a voltage surge which can cause problems. A good charger should filter out them, but it's still a good precaution. (BTW, hybrid and electric cars do not have this problem).

  • Recharge with an iPhone/iPad car charger only

I have a Honda CRV from 2015.  Suddenly, none of our iPhones will load with car chargers.  Two different Chargers, two different ports, lights, showing the power to the cables on the two, previously worked.  Our iPhones include a 6Plus, 6 and 5.   I rebooted my iPhone 6 with no result.  We travel a lot and it is a real drawback.  Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Paulette

Since iOS 9, the new firmware on Apple devices also checks the accessory used, especially a 3-wire party, to ensure that the device will not be damaged material not approved electronically.

  • Car Dock - leaving bluetooth on calls

Whenever my Atrix is in the car dock, when I'm on a phone call, the bluetooth disconnects and turns on the speaker phone. It will intermittently be / reconnection bouncing between the speakers of the car and the phone's speaker. I tried to use another car dock, another cable USB and 3 different USB car chargers. I have no idea what this may be suggestions?

Music works fine on bluetooth, but once I take a phone call is starting to evils.

Are you by chance near the area where there are many open wi - fi? I noticed that every time the phone toggle between wi - fi and H +, bluetooth will be briefly disconnect and then re-connect.

I tried several car chargers with my Jet 7 HP and none seem not to work. They don't seem to even be recognized by the HP 7 stream.  Does anyone know of a car charger that works? This is for American cars, to the United States.

Make sure your car charger is off 2amps.

Many of them offer only 1 amp, and some of them don't 500ma.

  • Icona w3 usb power?

Posted this in my intro - just bought an Icona W3 and love everything, except not being able to load is via USB, charging system. Hoped to be able to charge off or my load tape or Solar battery pack for trips in order to avoid extra cords and adapters.  Any suggestions?

Little or no. Have a single charger auto (55 a) with a definition of 6v and unloaded it puts out 8.4vdc. Car chargers are often poorly regulated and dependent on the battery charge as a control (I use 'smart' or really small Chargers 'float' for AGM to limit the peak voltage.).

Case I mentioned was an ancient used radio 8 "D" batteries or a 12v 50ma wall wart. Warts that I found were all large and poorly controlled so I used a 9v switched off 11.4v to 50 ma, which worked well for the power required (I tend to decommission older systems by 10% anyway).

That's why I'd be worried about connecting a W3 or W510 directly on a car cigarette lighter. Even a good system can go to 15v and some 14 car models are plauged with much higher surgers electronic frying (suspect a bad ground. Do not know). Wish that acer would release a mobile charger 12v - 12v or plug for one.

  • Satellite L750 - block power supply

Is someone can you please advise me what is the auxiliary power supply for this model.
    The battery shows 10.8.

    Car chargers that I have been watching are 18v - 20v 90W or 120W.
These are suitable car chargers or they will damage the laptop.
Due to the nature of my business, I need the laptop on charge while I'm driving long distance.

    Thank you

    Hey,.

Simplest is that check you the spécifciations on the underside of your laptop. Usually, there is a sticker with a denunciation of the intensity and tension.

The car charger should have the specs of that too.
For example, if your laptop 19V, you need a charger with 19V too has need. Amps must be identical or greater, that s no problem.

  • Registration code not valid when you try to register

Open my new dashboard to Woot today and after having downloaded the software update, I tried to save the dashboard. It doesn't let me do, say the Registration Code provided on the dashboard (in the news on the device) is not valid. I tried to register and associate with Chumby account and when it does not work since the original registration page. Neither work. Please tell me how to fix. Thank you. Woot, it is a whole new product so previously renovated registered should not be a problem. Thanks for any help.

Thanks Tom611. I actually downloaded the update of the firmware/software before even saving. It ends up being an issue wih trying to record with an e-mail that I have used to sign up for the Sony Forum (Chumby tips sent me here when I was doing research on the dashboard before buy you). No matter what they did through phones help if they couldn't do so that I can register (they weren't sure if it was a problem with my email, the registration code, user name, etc.). I finally decided to try to save the email from my husband, and that ended up working. Yay! Now, I stayed too late playing with him. Thanks again - I appreciate really only provide you with such a quick response & recommendation!

  • Acer Iconia W3 810 power power requirements

My battery fell to 5%, so I guess I have to get a power brick to charge.

I have not found all the specifications in the manual or at Acer. I need the polarity of voltage, current, centering pin, the pin diameter and outside diameter.

I know there is one available at Acer adapter, but when I went to buy one for the acer of the Wal-Mart, where I had the Tablet, he did not.  They me refund for the charger, but stressed that the first page of the Iconia user guide clearly noted that "components vary by model" and that nowhere it specify that the charger is included.

I could order one for $58,00 but I have not found a place that has one in stock and says it works on the W3 810.

RadioShack has everything I need to gather a supply and assorted connectors for much less, but I want to be sure of the necessary current, voltage and polarity.

Hi, here is the info from the adapter itself:

    Delta Electronics

    ADP - 18A TO

    Output is 12V1.5A

Tip is + and the Earth is on the outside.

Search the Bay for similar products (model name) and they are much cheaper.  There are car chargers cheaper than you can get off the tip as well.  It seems to be the same size as the A100 Iconia tab I had before... which is not too good a new because they are not the standard/common out there you will find.  I have a Radio Shack tip 'G' if I remember correctly it fits but it still isn't as great fit the OEM from the tip like a Groove on the medium, which allows him to click in the port of loading.

And it's a little weird, if you got your Tablet without charger of a store.  I had mine with an Interior... I imagine it would be difficult to find a charger for ordinary people.

    Good luck.
