Want 5530: Installation of printer driver for want 5530 and Windows 10

HP Envy 5530 worked well on Windows 8. I upgraded me automatically to Windows 10 and now the printer does not work. I tried to download the update from HP for Windows 10 and followed the program of troubleshooting provided by HP, but without success. I read comments that suggest that it is not possible to a 5530 want a PC to the network operating Windows 10. Certainly, this cannot be correct. Advice please.

Hello @GBeastall,

This is a great place to visit for a community support and HP! I see that the printer does not work since the upgrade of Windows 10. I wish I could help you.

In the printers and devices window, check which shows the name of the printer and if it is set as the default printer.

Print a configuration page to obtain the IPv4 of the printer address: print a Network Configuration Page.

  • Check the port assigned to the printer on the computer to see if it matches the IP address of the Configuration page.
  • In devices and printers, click right on the printer and on the left, click on printer properties, select the Ports tab.
  • It must be checked on the TCP/IP protocol.
  • Click on Configure Port to display the IP address.

If the IP address does not, via the HP software, add a new device.

  1. Click on the Start button () or the lower left corner of the screen, then clickSearch.

  2. In the search box, type HP, and then click the icon for your printer. The software of the printer opens.

  3. Click utilities, and then click on the software & selection of the printer.

  4. Click on connect a new printer.

Test the printer.

Please try the steps outlined in this document, if you still have any questions: after 10 upgrade Windows, printer problems appear.

Let me know the results of printing and scanning doctor.

If the issue is resolved, your welcome to show your appreciation by clicking on "Accept as Solution" and the "Thumbs Up". Let me know how make you out. Thank you.

I have Windows Vista x 64 installed on my PC and nVidia Forceware motherboard and graphic cards.

The dialog where he asks me if I want to 'locate and install driver software', 'Ask Me later' or 'don't show this message for this device.

I select the recommended option: "locate and install driver software.

I click 'Continue' when Windows asks me permission to continue.

Then, when the execution of the installer of the software in the bottom right of my screen, the installation of driver software for device, it shows "unidentified device failed.

"Found New Hardware - device unknown".

Windows encountered a problem installing the software driver for your device

Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error trying to install it.

An error occurred during the installation of the device:

That's what he does when I'm trying to connect my Kodak Easyshare M550 digital camera. I would go ahead and contact Kodak, but the problem seems to extend to ANY removable device on my computer.

For example, I have a Lexar Flashdrive. When I plug it into my USB 2.0 port, it Windows says the following:

"Windows needs to install driver software for your USB Flash Drive", etc...

'Install the device driver software', 'USB Flash Drive search Windows Update'...

Then a window opens asking me to "insert the disk that came with your USB key. Problem is that no driver disk not supplied with the hardware that Windows Vista is supposed to come with the drivers. I know this because the camera and usb flash drive worked very well until I reinstalled Windows Vista on my new hard drive (new installation, because my old hard drive crashed) and I've NEVER had to install device drivers for Windows to recognize it as a removable drive and operate automatically.

Also, I installed Daemon Tools Lite and I had to manually "Update" the device driver to point to the "Windows\INF" folder in my hard drive, after copying the cdrom files needed for the specific subfolders for windows to let the program assign a drive letter for the drive virtual it creates.

I think that perhaps not all device drivers have been installed when I installed Windows Vista, this time. If that's the problem, I don't know how that could happen, nor how to fix it, but I really prefer to find a way to solve this problem without reinstalling Windows Vista again. I don't mind not manually install the drivers as long as someone can show me what files to copy and where to find them on the Windows Vista disk that I bought at Microsoft. I KNOW that Windows HAS come with these drivers.

If anyone knows how I can fix this, please tell me, because it's ridiculous to not be able to use any removable device readers (except for the use of all Flash drives). Thanks in advance.

I know it can be frustrating to solve problems.

  • I need a printer driver for HP Laserjet 1010 (Windows 7)

I'm very annoyed that HP did not have a printer driver available for the HP Laserjet 1010, which is a model just two years. I have scoured the internet for solutions, downloaded a few suggestions but none of them worked. I just want to use my printer and I want to use it NOW! Please can someone help me?

You say that you've visited everywhere. Have you tried this solution here? http://nwgat.WordPress.com/2009/07/21/get-HP-1010-to-work-on-Windows-7-Vista-XP-64-bit-and-32-bit/

If not, give it a try and see if it works. This blog, you should download the universal driver HP PCL 5 then select the port of DOT4_001. I don't know if it works, but it couldn't hurt to try and if it does not, make sure you uninstall the driver. Also before I forget before you try this make sure all drivers you put forward have been uninstalled.

    I hope this works

  • Mac OS 10.5 Hello cannot find the printer driver for P1606dn connected via a wired network.

I tried to connect my HP Laserjet Pro P1606dn to my PowerMac G5 running Mac OS 10.5.8.  I have connected the priner to my LAN via the Ethernet cables and Switch 8 port NetGear.  I then properly installed printer driver from the CD provided on the Mac and went into system preferences / Print & Fax to add the printer to the list of the connected printers.  Click on the button «+»  The HP P106dn was listed in the table (kind = Hello).

I chose this entry in the table, and the dialog box immediately went into action: the pullodwn "to Print using" listed the message 'Please select a printer or driver model' greyed and a spinning wheel called 'Search for new drivers' appeared underneath.  The dialog box search but never find the printer driver (I waited for 20 minutes without success).  I installed some other HP printers in this way on this machine with no problems, for example, HP Color Laserjet 2605dn.  Why this method does not work with this printer?

I was able to connect to this printer with other (Intel) Macs in my house through this arrangement of LAN.  Is the printer driver for the Intel Macs only?

I disconnected the printer from the local network and connected directly to my Mac with a USB cable.  The same process, and I was able to connect to this printer.  Successfully print a document page.  Although it gives me a work-around for Mac G5, I need to share this printer with other Macs in my household.

I went on the HP download site and downloaded the latest driver for this printer, re-installed the printer driver on Mac and repeat the steps for the arrangement of LAN (above) complete the connection via the Print & Fax dialog box.  The result was the same: spinning wheel looking for a printer driver are not.

I don't know what else to do, or why this facility will not work.  I would much appreciate it if someone could give an explanation for this or any suggestions as to what can be done?

    Ed

I'm sorry to get back to you on this so late.  I was OOT Sunday all day.

Ok. So, here is what happened.  As I mentioned at the end of my last post, I was in the process of resetting my printing system, repair disk permissions, then restarting.   Reset the printing system wiped out all my printers in the "Printers" pane in the "Print & Fax" system preferences dialog window  I moved forward and fix permissions of the drive on my system disk.  A number of authorities have been repaired, but nothing that I could decipher impression related ro.  Finally, I restarted my Mac and went directly to the dialog box print & Telec.

As the printers pane was still empty, I'm gone before adding the simplest of my printers (LaserWriter 360 connected via AppleTalk) who has always been correctly added to the list printers in the past.  No chance!  WAITED a few minutes everything is was "Looking for new drivers.".  I tried the Color Laserjet 2605dn.  No luck.  Then the Laserjet P1606dn.  No luck.

Thus, this way of solution did not work, and now I was without any driver associated with one of my connected printers.  I decided that I had no choice to rebuild the operating system.  I started my DVD of Installation OS 10.5.4 to rebuild my system (without reformatting my HARD drive).  Once which was finished, I've immediately went to the Print & Fax dialog box and tried to add in each of my printers.  In a few seconds the LaserWriter was added successfully, then the HP Color Laserjet 2605dn, and FINALLY, the Laserjet P1606dn.  Thus, it appeared that my upgrade to OS 10.5.8 was at the origin of the problem.

I proceed with Sofware Update to restore the computer to OS 10.5.8 and again once, went to the dialog box Print & Fax to experiment with the addition of each of the printers again.  Stopping before the acceptance of each 'Add', I could find quickly and successfully the drivers for each of the connected printers.  So, it doesn't seem to be a problem with OS 10.5.8 find printer drivers.

After reflection, I concluded that the problem must have appeared during the upgrade to OS 10.4.11 OS 10.5.4, but it remained hidden until I tried to add these new printers to the list of printers.

I appreciate the reference to the last download Laserjet full feature software.   Since I was able to solve the problem without it, I mind not do the download.

I want to thank you for patiently stay with me during the last two weeks, your advice and comments.  Just having someone to "talk" about it, it was reassuring and useful that I went along to apply each suggestion to the problem.  I tried to solve this problem several times on my own before that, the search of the forums, and I hesitated to participate actively – to reach out.  I'm feeling very different about it now.  Once again, thanks a lot.

Thanks for writing on the Dell Community Forum.

Please uninstall all the printer driver on the system installed for Dell Laser 5100cn printer and then install the driver on Windows 8 using this link http://dell.to/1ETptNA. Install in compatibility mode if the installation does not engage.

Answer please if you have any other questions.

    Hi Mocanu,

Looks like you're right. It might not be a complete driver of features still to the all-in one HP Inkjet 915, but looks like there could be a BONE or integrated driver, which you can download. Go to installation and using the built-in Windows print driver for the steps.

    Hope that helps!

I've updated the Mac driver for the 8600 and direct wireless printing is no longer works. The HP utility is v5.9.1, Mac OS x 10.7. I did the software update and a new driver HP was part of the package. HP ePrint still works, and print tests are okay for General network settings are intact.
