  This is perfectly normal.  By design, even administrative accounts do not roll with full administrative privileges at all times.  This is one of the most important security features of Windows 7, called User Account Control (UAC).  It helps to ensure that, when running as administrator, nothing can "sneak by" and changes to the system that the user is not aware.

  But since you have kindly offered to answer some of my questions, I'm a little.

  -You use the touch screen? It seems like a nice idea, but with 27 "screen I think I might need to move away it from the edge of a desk and so beyond my reach of partners.

  I use a 23 "and 20". I am five feet high and short arms, but reaching a bit if it is moved again on the desktop is not a problem. You will need to bring it back a little if you order touchscreen for the functionality of the tablet. The folds of the screen and laying back for easy writing.

  -Is this the screen smudge easily? Fingerprints are very visible.

  Windows 8.1 in systems now. You will still control panel to access the calibrations. The app store of Windows has many free applications that you can use. There are a lot of games on the apps also.
