Want to replace Vista on Satellite A300D-158

In time of every day!

Bought this laptop a year ago, fed up with Vista, I decided to change the Windows, but there were a lot of questions...

(1) what Windows best place instead of Vista? XP? Seven?

(2) on the website of the manufacturer

HERE

For Windows 7-64 bit is lined with 10 pilots... There is enough of that?
For Windows XP 32 drivers lined... and which of them waving if you choose 64-bit XP?

(3) and where the windows download, set and forget, without registration, activation, and limited periods of work?

Many thanks to those who respond

1
In my opinion these new laptops like your one can work perfectly with Windows 7 and I think you should take a step forward and not backward.

2
Unfortunately the Win7 drivers aren't available for your laptop model, yet, and it will be difficult to install a clean operating system.
WXP 64 bit is not supported by this model of laptop

3
Windows is not downloadable. If you want to use the operating system without registration, limitation or activation, you must use OS you have with your laptop.

In my opinion the best solution for you is order Toshiba Win7 upgrade kit, so you can upgrade Vista preinstalled to Win7 no problem. This updated version should not be enabled, and you can use it without registration or restrictions.

  • Satellite A300D-158: webcam screen is almost black

Two days ago, I bought a laptop Toshiba Satellite A300D-158. It's a really cool hardware, but I have a problem with my camera.

It seems to work, but the screen is almost black.
I see my face (poor quality, there are a lot of noise on screen) only when I run a night Mode and 50 Hz.
Interesting thigs, it's that when I hide the camera using my hand the camera stop and try again to black screen regardless of my settings.

I have to click on 50 Hz to 60 Hz and 60 Hz to 50 Hz and after that I can see a view.
I checked all the possible settings in Camera Assistant Software but it doesn't give any effect.

    Pls help me ;/

PS: Is it possible that the hotel is broken?

Try to update the Chicony Webcam driver to the latest version. The pilot is on the site Web of Toshiba in the drivers section.

I had a quick glance at the page drivers, there is no camera A300D driver. Try the Satellite L300D webcam driver v1.7.193.0508L

  • I need XP but do not want to Miss Vista on satellite series

    Hi friends,

I tried to install Xp on a different partition for XP and Vista... but... It was a nightmare... I installed XP but nevere can start the system on Vista and Xp only automatically executed.

I had to restore my system of product recovery disk and format the drive to get Vista to boot. I did so, and as you know I lost all installed programs. I did back up data to DVD, but I could not restore them after the restore.

    Please help me...
I need XP, but I don't want to lose Vista.
Meanwhile, after you set up XP I couldn't set up my wireless and then connect to the internet...

Please guide me how to install XP keeping my current Vista. I have 2 partitions C and D.

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

I put t really know why lafonction installation doesn t.
You must first install the Vista (from the recovery CD)
Then starting in this operating system. Create the partition under Vista. In management disks you should reduce the C partition, then you could activate the partition on the free space.

Then, you could install XP on the second partition.
In the system properties-> General-> startup & recovery
You can set the default operating system and the second operating system.

It is a part of the booloader file.

    [boot loader]
    timeout = 30
    default = multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (1) \WINDOW S
    [operating systems]
    "multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (1) \WINDOWS="Micro soft Windows XP Professional "/ fastdetect/noexecute = OptIn

Just add the Vista steps, and you should be able to choose between the two OS at startup.

    [boot loader]
    timeout = 30
    default = multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (1) \WINDOW S
    multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (2) \WINDOWS Vista
    [operating systems]
    "multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (1) \WINDOWS="Micro soft Windows XP Professional "/ fastdetect/noexecute = OptIn
    "multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (2) \WINDOWS="Micro soft Windows Vista "/ fastdetect/noexecute = OptIn

When this value added package is uninstalled all buttons works with WMP, but during the installation - do not.
Illumination power button is not working do not by the press.

This means support to toshiba button does not work properly with vista.

I don't have these problems with XP

    Hello

As far as I know, you can enable and disable the lighting in the BIOS.
Go to BIOS and check if you can activate it.

By the way; you said that buttons don t work with Vista.
Have you tested this with Vista OS preinstalled Toshiba?

  • Satellite A300D-158 (AMD ZM-80) - internal temperature of 70 - 80 c

The NB was bought a few months ago, and these days begin to stop from time to time. Not to sleep or cut the words but just nearby. Whenever he is in a State of rest. I suggested what I due to overheating. First I remove dust from the processor fan grig. Then I begin to observe that enough space will belong and near CPU cooling unit.
Cases outside parties. But in comparison with my second NB which is a non-Toshiba machine with Intel Centrino 2 2.4 GHz, the Satellite is much warmer.

I installed all new drivers, including the BIOS.

I installed CoreTemp utility that shows 60-70 ° C temperature of charge now to 25-35% CPU and up to 80 ° c at 50% load. And even rarely 87 C.

The running application is Photoshop and in parallel a film in the Mozilla Firefox browser... A few months ago, I made a DVD on this NB within two hours without any overheat shutdown. But no charge is miserable.

That is what it is? I'm starting to regret, I chose Toshiba and at least AMD CPUS.

    Hello

I use Satellite P200D AMD CPU and also an A300 but with Intel Core 2 T8100 processor. I just positive experience with AMD on Satellite P200 processor.

Your laptop is placed correctly on the desktop?
The temperature in my opinion is not critical but shut offs are really bad sign.
Can you please try to follow: square back of your laptop on CD two boxes to make a slightly higher rear? I hope that the laptop will be able to take a breath. Please post the results.
These two applications running should not be a problem for this model of laptop.

If you really think that this question may be critical for your laptop computer, contact the nearest service provider and ask for advice. The laptop has guaranteed valid and if something is not there, they will halp you.

  • Re: Failed to start General on the Satellite A300D-158

Sorry for my language, but that little bit difficult for me.
After 2 years of using this cooler model and drive hard breaks down because of overheating. Generally, the system worked. After disassembly and replacement of cooler, I got new problem - system is not starting at all. Power and battery LED always indicates "supported", all caps to the motherboard are properly placed, graphics card connected correctly, too.
After putting in the work of the indication for a few seconds, cooler rotation begins, but screen remains black and after a few seconds system stops.

What can be graphics or Mo? Please advice.

Who knows what you are doing... Again, check well all if all cables connected correctly.

    > After work indication start for a few seconds, cooler rotation, but screen remains black and after a few seconds system shutdown
    > down. What can be graphics or Mo? Please advice.

If it's a problem of graphics card, the laptop is remained working with white screen. But in your case, it works for a few seconds and stops.

    > After disassembly and replacement of cooler

Check if the Cpu is mounted well, I think it's a troublemaker. Replacing the fan could touch.

  • The Satellite A300D - 158 DVD player firmware downgrade

Is it possible to recover the old firmware (1.50 worm) or newer for DVRTD08A drive?

Unfortunately, I flashed this drive with the wrong firmware version 1.54 to DVRTD08L with label flash function. My drive does not have this feature.
This firmware will not affect the player functionality?

    Hello!

I don't know if the bad firmware affect the functionality of the reader, but in your case I would test it Mr. try to read different CD s/DVD s and create your own CD s/DVD s.
Then you can see if your drive is defective or not, but I think a bad firmware will improve the functionality.

It s doesn't know is not for me to get an older firmware. To do this, you must go to a local ASP and ask a technician for help.

  • Satellite A300D-126 downgrade Vista to XP

    Hi all

I bought the laptop Toshiba Satellite A300D, model 126, with Windows Vista Home Premium (PSAK4E).
These days I tried to install Windows XP Professional with SP2 on my laptop.

First, I made a new partition (D :) for the new operating system.
I installed the OS XP on the D: drive. I expect to be able to choose between the two OS (Vista and XP) when I start the computer.
After you have installed all the drivers for XP, I took on the Toshiba site, I realized the SM Bus controller driver is still not installed.

Where can I get this driver?
Secondly, how can I choose between two operating systems when you start the computer?

    Thank you.

    Hello

First of all I hope that you have created a Toshiba Recovery disk in order to recover the laptop if something will go wrong.

Now to your installation of Win XP.
The installation of Win XP has damaged the Vista Boot Manager.
If you want to start the two BONES, then you will have to boot from the original Microsoft Vista disc to repair the boot manager.
After the boot manager has been repaired and you started the Vista device you can use a tool called Vista Boot Pro to include the Win XP to the Vista boot loader.

    See you soon

  • Satellite A300D - 14 p Windows Vista OTB for Windows XP

Satellite A300D - 14 p Windows Vista OTB for Windows XP?
Is it possible to install Windows XP on the satellite with no complications (bad drivers and other things). I hate Vista!
I heard that some laptops require modding some files .ini to install Xp on vista.

If you want to install Win XP on this laptop and want to use this OS instead of vista, then you should check out some threads here in the forum.

There are several discussions on the installation of Win XP.

    Just a comment:
The Satellite A300D - 14 p belongs to the series of PSAK8E and all the XP drivers are on the European driver Toshiba page.

  • Satellite A300D updated Vista to seven back

I bought the laptop Toshiba Satellite A300D with Windows vista Home Premium, after purchase, I burned 2 DVD recovery and after that, I ordered the upgrade to windows Seven and updated my laptop.

My question is: if I burn now recovery DVDs, will recover their laptop for Windows Seven or if I want to reinstall Windows Seven I should recover the Vista laptop, and then reinstall Windows Seven?

"Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator" is not designed to create the image of the current state of OS recovery.
This tool is created to burn already created recovery image of media such as CD or DVD.

Thus, the second part of your question is the correct answer at the same time. You must install Vista using the recovery disc and later he switch to Win7.
