Warranty maintenance and stuff

I'm sorry, I don't want to sound stupid, but this means exactly, when they say to go back to the depot?

Why I ask this is because my laptop has suffered some damage and my warranty was told to return to the deposit in order to get servucrd...

I suppose that g that wants to go back to where we bought it?

Hi Talulaooo,

Thanks for posting.

Here is information about the return to Service.  If you have not purchased directly from Dell, the retailer that you purchased at home may have additional security, as some retailers cover the unit during the first year.

Kind regards
Robert

    Hey,.

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro laptop, it's about a 10 months now and I was wondering if offer you a service out of warranty for your products? There is nothing wrong with the laptop, just normal wear...

Toshiba Australia has a service where you will take the product, clean everything, test all parts for reliability... perhaps optional upgrades of the components of this kind of thing? I like that I use and rather than spending $ 2,000 on a new laptop in a year or so... would rather spend a few hundred it maintenance and upgrade of all components, if this is possible on an older model.

I refer to things like upgrade RAM from 2 GB to 4, maybe replace touchpad... replaceing drive only one bigger, faster... individual tests of USB ports... even replace some plastic case components that become scratched...

I have no idea, that Toshiba offers this kind of service, if not, are you aware of any independent companies doing?

    Thank you

I think Toshiba Mobilecare Center offer this service, give them a call. Their number is listed on their Web site, its 13 30 70

  • Manual maintenance and parts for C2N34UA

I just buy this laptop auction, but information on it is like finding teeth of the chicken (which probably betrays my age & geographical origins).

It is a 2000-2B80DX - C2N34UA 15.6 "laptop. I can't find information on the date of manufacture of that computer, but since it has Windows 8 I guess, it's a relatively new model that could explain the rarity of a maintenance manual.

Before the tear in there, I was hoping to get detailed information for spare parts, specifically size screws needed for the LCD screen & Assembly display. It's the only thing missing on the computer screen. I just happen to have a screen, but I'm running out of screws. One could even say that I have a little loose.

I'm selling my old G62 341NR so I don't want to cannibalize it but I'm guessing that most of the screws required are interchangeable since it is the LCD that I have with the same connector.

A final question is whether this model is interchangeable with the 2000-2b09ca because invariably when I search on my model that it jumps to the top.

Thanks for any help you can give me on this & happy Thanksgiving!

  • Looking for dv9933cl of Maintenance and Service of Guide

I have a dv9933cl that needs a motherboard replacement.  I'm looking for the maintenance and Service Guide (MSG) for this model.

Normally, the maintenance and Service Guide appears under Guides the user to the system, but appears not to be the case for any dv9900 series laptop PC.

According to the sticker on the bottom of the laptop, the dv9933cl part of the dv9700 series.  However, the MSG to the dv9700 series (which is also for dv9500 dv9600 series) lists no information for the dv9900 series.

In my particular case, I need to replace the motherboard, but the part # for the motherboard for the dv9933cl is not listed in the MSG dv9700 (the dv9933cl has a 512 MB NVIDIA video card).  I was able to find the part # (461069-001) on PartSurfer but still need the MSG for the disassembly instructions.

I confirmed that the MSG dv9500, dv9600/dv9700 works for dv9900 series.  I used it to replace the motherboard and got in trouble or notice any differences.

However, if you want to party #s, you'll have to use PartSurfer.

Maybe HP wants to publish this manual in dv9900 series systems.  It would be very helpful!

  • Maintenance and Service Guide

    HP Envy 17 - i7 2090nr 3D

    S/N: {removed privacy}

    M/N: LV045UA #ABA

This discussion refers to the maintenance and Service of Guide (M & SG), not the user's Guide. The latter is delivered with the product while the former is located on the HP website.

The SG & M I found on line was published in April 2010 and does not refer to the 3D features. In addition it does not refer to hard drives more than 1 TB, while my system came with a 1.5 TB hard drive. Finally, I think that my version of the HP Envy 17 3D has come on the market after April 2010 because the original system BIOS (F.07) in the system date was February 2011 (which I've since upgraded to the system BIOS F.15.)

So is there an edition more recent (April 2010) as the SG & m for the HP Envy 17 - i7 2090nr 3D? And if there is, where can I find it?

    Thank you.

    Kind regards

  • How can you lead base i/o without the help of the sendVars() and stuff like that?

My understanding is that kind of things like sendVars() and loadVars() looks more for recording of variables and stuff like that.  I just want to be able to treat an ordinary text on the server file and to write, read, delete, copy, and get the size of it - while having full control over its content.  I can't believe that this information is so hard to find.  How can it be done?  Thank you!

  • Computer maintenance and its importance

Computer maintenance is the practice of keeping computers in good state of repair. I have well maintained computer can live well beyond its "life expectancy."

Computer maintenace can take two forms. The first is to physically clean the computer itself and the second is by cleaning the 'virtual computer '. The virtual machine is inside your computer, system files, documents, programs, etc. Here is a good list of tips and tools that you can use to keep your computer.

    Virus protection

Install anti-virus software to protect you. There are many programs that are available to help protect yourself you against viruses are created every day. Ask 10 different people what antivirus program, you should get you'll get 10 different answers. You may need this option to find out which antivirus program you prefer and run with it research. As long as the program is updated regularly, you will find that you are taking the right step in the right direction.

Update regularly, check your settings of your antivirus program. Many of these programs come by default to search for and install updates regularly (usually once a day). If your program is not defined that way I would strongly advise to search for and install updates on a daily basis. Every day without the latest definitions are everyday you find yourself vulnerable to the latest virus.

    Applications

Each application and utility are prone to security risks. The developers of these applications can find a breach in security and patch it, if you don't have the latest version, you can find yourself open to attack.

Remove unused programs. If you have not used a program in a long time, then it is likely that you don't need. Many unused programs can represent free space that is not available to you because you have a program that you have installed a year ago. Many new computers have testing programs and other software that you might find that it is not enough. By removing unused software, you can help up to free space that you can use later on the road.

Clear temporary files and other unnecessary files

When you use the Internet a copy of every web page you visit is stored. This is useful because it allows for faster viewing later on the road. Say I visit Facebook every day, in theory the first day, I'm going it can be slow to load, but every day it's going to be faster as the day of the original. While this works great it does she become a resource hog when you already visited 10000 Web sites last month. Since it is space occupied at least once a month you should consider to erase temporary internet files, internet history and cookies out of your system. Here's how to delete information on the three most used browsers.

    Internet Explorer

    Chrome

    Firefox

The next thing you want to do is clean out that downloads the file. What happens so you go to a site and you decide to download any software. If you click on it and it downloads and then you run it. The program installs and everything works fine with the program, you are quite right? No! What of this file, you need to download? It is still on your computer and it is absorbed to free space. Only a single file resumes May 5 k of space, but let's say download you 20 apps, oh are you want to look at the pictures if you have downloaded those as well. Now take a little space that you can not use your downloads. Cleaning of your download folder can help find some of this space lost on your computer.

The download folder is easy to access

    1. Click Start
    2. Go to 'My Documents '.
    3. Downloads

You should consider to keep this cleaned once a month. If you find that you download a bunch of stuff then you might want to dump this on a more regular basis.

While we're on the subject of clean up the record of downloads let's talk about these zip files. If you receive a bunch of files (or even a single file) and it is in a zipped file, the first thing you need to do is to unpack. When you unpack the compressed file does not disappear. Once you have checked that you need out of compressed form file was safe to remove that file zipped as it is needlessly occupy space.

Maintain the integrity of the data

At least once a month, you should check your hard disk for errors by using two simple solutions.

The first thing you'll do is a defragmentation of the hard drive. When you use data on your computer on a regular basis data gets fragmented throughout your entire hard drive. While you can see an MP3 file, your computer see pieces of this file that can be spread in the entire hard drive. You tell to defragment the hard drive the program to go find all the pieces and put them back together.  In making them together again and find this single file, you notice that specific file is significantly faster and other aspects of your computer can speed up.

The next tool to use is a Check Disk. The disk check will focus on volumes of records and see if it finds problems, if that is the case he will try to fix it for you. Very hard to solve problems can be simplified by running a checking the disk for bad sectors, or the repaired lost clusters.

These two programs are built into Windows and are ready for you to use.

    1. Click on my computer
    2. Right click on your hard drive (usually drive C), and then select Properties
    3. Click the Tools tab and you should see these options.

    Backup

How important is your data? The most important that your data are for you more you save. Generally, once a month backup solution works for most people. However, all critical files should be backed up as regularly as you change them. There are many programs that enable to backup your data on a CD, jump drives or storage online. You should examine the different options and find the best fit.

    Windows updates

Windows pushes updates on a regular basis. Check your settings in windows to check you are download and install these updates because they are coming. Critical updates for windows can save you any questions, you can finish by the experience.

This Microsoft article explains in addition to detailed information on the Windows updates.

    Empty the trash

When you delete something it is not spent for always in a trash can and left it there for a while before it auto deletions or you tell him to take it off forever. This is usually a really sure fall. You never know when you can accidentally delete something you really need, and you will find. Once a month if you should consider reviewing everything that is there and the removal of everything that you will ever need again.

Everything so far has been clean the virtual computer. Next, let's look at what you can do to maintain the physical computer. Quarterly (every four months) you should consider bringing down your computer and clean it up.

    Own devices

Everything you connect to your computer is a device. Your keyboard, mouse, printers, etc. are all devices. Disconnect your keyboard and mouse and clean them. The keyboard can be sprayed on with a can of air compressed and given a gentle wipe down with a cloth. If you have a mouse with a ball inside him which means that it is not optical, then the ball should be cleaned. Jump off the plate and drop the ball clean with little of isopropyl alcohol and remove any dried grease, oil or dust.

    Clean the screens

The monitor can be dusted with a cloth and screens cleaned with a glass cleaner and a cloth.

    Clean tour

The shell or the turn of the computer will also need to be cleaned. When you get to the back of the computer, look at the gills, they need special attention because the dust to accumulate and must be eliminated.

Clean the inside of the Tower

If you have a tower that opens, then it is important to clean the inside of the computer. Even if the computer is never opened before it will accumulate dust inside. With a can of compressed air to spray any dust or debris from the computer and clean the fan vents.

    Check your cables

Even if you have the open computer inspect your connections loose cables must be firmly connected.

    Clean the surge protector

For starters, if you are not using a surge protector can get a. A surge protector can save your investment if a power failure which causes a burst of electricity. If you already have a surge protector damaged's just as bad as not having surge for any damage protector check a. If the surge protector has exposed wiring, it must be replaced immediately. If the surge protector is working then it must always be cleaned to make sure that the sheets that you use to connect to your computer are free of dust and debris.

You don't have to be an expert to do one of those simple things that can make sure that you have a computer that will last for a long time in computer science.

If you are an experienced user and you have other tips you will find may help new users and users not so irritable ensuring what they see their computers up to date add a response to this post.
