It is a very popular request.  Well so I added the code to do it for you in this knowledge base article

It will take a day or two to appear there, pending attachment code seems to be accissible (and I hope that the link does not change until the revisions I did to publish - if it refers to article I mentioned).

  • Removal of WAV files after you create AAC version in iTunes

I recently deleted about 5 GB of iTunes WAV files after their conversion to AAC files. I chose to "move to trash" and then empty the trash. When I rebooted my computer, there is about 5 GB of free storage added to my HD but not the Audio storage, which has not changed. I forgot to check the free space came as I thought it would be audio.

I tried manually deleted WAV files and they do not appear on my HD, only new AAC versions I created. I'm curious to know why the Audio storage did not change at all, even if the files are audio files and seem to have been properly removed from my HD. I wonder if they were not stored somewhere else and if so I want to make sure that they have been deleted. What worries me is that my iTunes library is 94 Go yet my Audio storage is 126 GB. I understand Garageband, etc. takes place, but the gap seems to be excessive. Please help/explain whether you have any ideas!

    Much appreciated!

  • How can I create a text-to-speech .wav file?

I would like to create wave files using the text-to-speech feature in Windows or by using another method.  Is it possible to do this on Windows?  If this isn't the case, anyone know if there is a freeware/shareware that would work?

I am sure that there must be still of programs with options like that out there, try to go on your favorite leading software download site and search for such a program.

  • Reduce the size of a file created by "write to waveform.

    Hello

I'm using labview in 2012 and I have a problem with the size of the tdms file generated by the function "write to waveform. The data is real time 16 channels in a series of X NI USB-6343 and is composed by the gains of the voltage on the y-axis with the absolute time on the x axis (waveform format). The size of the file is reached a Go command within a few hours. Is it possible to reduce the size of this file? All configurations on the component?

    Thanks for the help.

    Best regards

    Marcelo Nobre

Yes indeed, there is a better way.  Instead of using writing on file express VI measure, try adding the DAQmx logging into your task DAQmx (before starting the task):

This method writes the raw binary data unadjusted to the file (2 bytes per sample because it is a 16-bit data acquisition card) with scaling of information in the header of the file.  In the example you posted, you write the data which are already put across to the file (double 8 bytes for example).  What will make this change you expect to reduce your file size by ~ 4 x.

If you wish you can compress the files once you have finished writing to them for further reduction of size, but there is no support to achieve so that you are currently writing in the PDM file.  In addition, you will need to unzip the file until you can access the data in the .tdms file.  You can probably get good results with something as simple as the data stored in a .zip file.

  • Add data in the header of a .wav file

    Hello guys,.

I seek your help for a small problem that I can't spend during my internship.

Here's what I want to do: I acquire signals that I write a .wav file. What I would do then is to reopen this .wav file and add data in the header, such as the sensitivity of the microphone for example. I am doing this is because it's one of our program of works, it can resume the pressure vs time signal using this information. I already have the hex code I need to add, but I was not able to determine if such a thing is possible or not after a day of research ideas would be greatly appreciated. I wonder if Matlab might do the trick but I prefer to stay with the 'normal '... screws

Thank you very much for your help.

To insert data into the middle of a file, you will need to rewrite the entire file after that point, as Gerd said in the linked post.  I would do the following:

    1. Search for the location you want to put your new piece
    2. Read 65 000 bytes from forward and store in a local cache (shift registers work well for this, or just a wire at this point).
    3. Write your new piece, taking note of how long it is
    4. Give your data buffered less the length of your new song
    5. Read a 65 000 other bytes and put it in a new buffer
    6. Write the end of the old buffer and a part of the new buffer until you get to 65 000 bytes
    7. Repeat 4 to 6 until you reach the end of the file
    8. Update the offsets in the header to match the new locations of piece, since you have moved things

You can probably do it with both data pads in a pair of registers at offset in a loop.  The 65 000 bytes is chosen for best performance.  You can use other sizes, but your speed can suffer.  Let us know if you encounter any problems.

  • WAV file, do not replay in LabView or load in WMP, but works in VLC

I'm creating an audio file for an interview with the attached code snippet (VI is very big and made a lot of treatment without report).  This sound is recorded in the Subvi "interview".  In the end, the Subvi is closed and the Subvi 'process' is open.  If this process is followed, labview will open and play the WAV file without problem.  Furthermore, 'process' can be run as a stand-alone.  In this case, I get error 4810 to its reading Open file (possible reason: cannot recognize the format of sound).  If I try to open the file in Windows Media Player, wav is open, but will have a length of 0.  If I open the wav in VLC, it plays without problem.  I have not tried saving as a new file, but it is a solution untenable sortof still.  For what it's worth, this problem arises when audio recording has been replaced by a process based on the queue.  I have attached the old code (work) for reference.

    Thank you

    Brendan

    Hey,.

Is returned to the point and redid my whole setup, including locally (not with locals on the IDS of devices microphone and speaker).  It works now. so... I'm not really sure what to do all this.  I doubt that it was a question of the use of local variables for input/output devices because the noise was always playing.  It could be a small error with the creation of the file, which I rewrote, but I can't tell what it could have been.  In any case, thank you.

  • Prerecorded Wav files

    Hi all

I'm trying to find a Wav file to use at the end of a LabVIEW program that prompts the user that the test is over.

I use the LabVIEW VI but I'm looking for a pre recorded the wav file that reads "Test is now completed.

I have had a look on Goolge, but I am unable to find a suitable file.

Can someone provide my with such a wav file or point me in the direction I could find one?

    Thanks again

.wav files will open with Windows Media Player. If there is an attachment in the e-mail message, follow these steps. If it is already on your hard drive, just skip step 1.

    Create a file association.

    1. download and save the attachment to the office.
    2. right click on the saved file.
    3. Select: Open with on the shortcut menu.
    4. click on: choose [default] program.
    5. Select: Windows Media Player.
    6. check: always use the selected program to open this type of file.
    7. click on OK.

This should allow you to open these attachments directly from email address now.

  • The contents of the folder WAV files will not work unless the folder is on the desktop.

Re: Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit W/sp2 installed.

I created a new folder for Wav files and set it on my desk until I was finished downloading the files for convenience purposes. I then used them to slightly change the default sounds for different commands, events and others. Everything worked fine until I moved the folder on the desktop to another location. Files located in the folder assigned and uncorrupted but will no longer work when the event or the command is enabled. If I move the folder to the desktop everything works well again. No error or anything are reported. The files in the folder will simply not work unless the folder is on the desktop. Is that all I could do to fix this?

    Hello

    1. what happens when you play the file from another location, you receive error message?

2 - is that happen with some .wav files or all files?

    3. did you try copied the contents of the file and save it to another location and check the number?

Step 1: Restart the computer to boot to verify if any third-party application is causing the problem.

Follow the steps provide in the article below to perform the clean boot. http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: Make sure to restart the computer to normal startup followed step 7 in the link.

  • WAV FILES

I'm working on for my Codian 4500's and MPS800s custom wav files.

Problem I have is I create .wav and download it, but it does not work.

For the codian, I guess that it is looking for voice_prompt_first_participant.wav of file name?

The format that he needs is not compressed, mono, 16 kHz and 16-bit resolution.  My option of voice of windows 7 is 16 kHz, 16-bit, 1-channel, but don't say no compressed?

I also a few tens of window, but it does not define the recording under 2 voice channel 16 bit 44100 hz (CD quality)...

Question is what are the critical parameters and length parameters to get the wav file to work...

I also if I register on the 10 windows machine I convert m4a to wav and if I save on windows 7 I need to convert wma to wav...

Any idea of a more effective way to make wav files?

  • WAV files will not import

Sometimes I create an audio file to accompany an image. This audio file is written on the my camera CompactFlash memory card in a wav format. In my workflow, I insert the CF card into my computer and open LR to initiate an import of the image, as well as to rename the image using my own model (which is yyyy_mm_dd_HHmmss). Since LR1 and until a while ago 4 months this workflow worked perfectly rename both images and its associated wav file (giving both the same name) and put in the folder I designated during the import. That allowed me to use LR to see what images had attached audio files by looking at metadata field of the library module titled "Audio file" as I saw the pictures as well as read this wav file by clicking on the arrow in the Panel metadata.

In the last months, I continued to use the stream of work preceding but noticed that, if I thought that I had created for a few images wav files, I saw more registered in the "audio". As I saw these audio files appear in the metadata Panel, I assumed that I had simply forgotten to create the files. However, recently returning a great shoot, I followed once more my usual workflow but this time, noted that I did of wav files on my CF card, but none were imported if images did import and were renamed according to my model.

I spent the morning trying different methods to get my workflow to work as originally it did but had no luck. Ironically, I noticed that a new version of LR was available today (2016-03-31) so I installed it, but the problem has not been corrected.

I tried procedures and their results:

    1. Import without using my custom template. Results: image is important to designated folder and is viewable in LR, but the wav file does not matter and is therefore not visible (or playable) in LR.
    2. Import without using my custom template, and THEN manually copy the wav file in the designated folder. Results: image matter refers to the folder and is viewable in LR but wav file is not listed in the metadata Panel, BUT after restart LR the image file is visible AND the wav file is listed in the metadata field (and the wav file is playable by clicking on the "arrow" in the metadata field).

I use Windows 10 and have tried the steps above with the image and audio files created with a Nikon D3 and Nikon D3x.

I have searched through this and other forums and cannot find a solution to allow my workflow work as it has done for years.

    I thank everyone's help.

It also happens to me with LR CC 2015.5.  On Windows 10, import from a SD card does not matter. Sidecars WAV.  But the import from disk files import them (and they appear in the metadata panel immediately without the need to restart).

However, on Mac OS X 10.11.4, import. Sidecars WAV works of SD cards works as expected.
