  Hello

  I clicked on install windows update on my computer (vista) and after he finished to install my documents, pictures and various other files have disappeared.  The hard drive shows again the amount of data I had, but all the files are not in the same place.

  That's what I had to do to fix my computer. I lost Aero and my computer just went completely wrong. I had to do a system restore to get it back.

  I did much of the backup computer and hope that I have included some of the files Photoshop Elements 9 I need.

  Can anyone help me with information on where to find files that contain tags, categories, albums and other items that I created in the Organizer to help manage my photos?

  I want to make sure that these files are backed up regularly.

  Also if you know how to install these files after you reinstall PSE it would be useful also.

  Find your backup for

  *.pse9db

  and restore all of the folder that contains this file (including subdirectories).

  You can restore this directory on any place, and in the Organizer, use the file... Catalogue... Custom location to navigate to the location of this directory to use its catalog.

  This is the system that I use for my data files: since I have several programs that use their own databases, I have created the following directory

  C:\Data

  and subdirectories under it for each program.  For example, I have a

  C:\Data\PSE Organizer\Catalogs\Test01

  Directory for my catalogue "Test01" and so on.  It is so easy to use WinZip to compress just to the top of all the C:\Data directory to create a backup file of all the data for all my programs.

• My program and other files on my C drive & external drives seem to be "deleted", but the virus scans show that the real files are still there...

  I use Windows Vista and the antivirus software Kerpersky internet on my Dell laptop. A virus 'seems have wiped my desktop and programs files and the directory of my document files, and index on my C drive and my external drive which was attached when you save.' .. that is the index of the two drives is empty shows that no file already exist...

  I managed to get my office back in a configuration much earlier using a Windows roll back feature that resets the list of programs and some very old directories and older files, but I can't see the previous desktop, nor my current "desktop", or a 'my document' content etc.

  When I jump into Excel and pick up the last file used, that has been saved on my desktop, it chose upward and able to be re-registered, but if I try to view a list of files via Excel or MS Word, none are found.  Another problem is that my backup disk has got so touched.  I am concerned to recover all my files and also not to overwrite anything on my C drive in the meantime. What are the best tools to solve this problem?

  Problem has been fixed.  I had a breakthrough last night when I did a bit of research to specific directories and found that files and directories 'lost' were just 'hidden '. I used the Windows tools to display all the files and directories hidden in the C drive and HARD drive and were able to view each of them to solve my problem.

  Windows saves a history of the names of files, programs, and locations that you type in the Run dialog box. You can delete this history, which you can do if you use a public or shared computer.

• Driver.cab and other files copy

  well hoping that someone can help because I'm lost...

  two weeks that ag has a virus that struck my notebook bad, then last night, that I decided re - install windows xp using the cd, everything has started big until the computer failed to copy some files to the cd. I chose to ignore copy them these files to upload later installation had compeleted. This is where I am stuck I can't get them anywhere. I tried to copy from the CD-ROM I386 folder, but it fails to make the copy.

  Anyway the files I need are;

  Driver.cab

  Hypertrm.chm

  Iashlpr.dll

  iasnap.dll

  Iassam.dll

  kodak_dc. ICM

  If someone could point me in the right direction to a place I can download these files or can happen to other ideas that will solve my problem, it would be much appreciated. also the direction as to where I have to copy the files to contribute to charges

  Thanks for your comments, but now solved the problem I had. I copied the file from another computer driver.cab, updated some drivers for my network card, then I was able to get the rest of the files I needed through automatic updates, end only took an hour and so far no problem

  When you move the pagefile to another PHYSICAL disk, you should always leave a little on C, perhaps 500 MB, for things like memory dump files. Next, you define a "system managed" pagefile on the other disk.

  It never makes sense to totally eliminate the swap file and don't forget that the swap file is not a Microsoft invention designed to shoot to the top of the hard drive space. OS UNIX, Linux and Mac too, independently use the totals of RAM...

• How to display /etc/resolv.conf and other files from the remote host to the vMA host ESX4i

  I'm new at VMAs, I put it in place and adds 5 Server esxi 4 and I can list the fines using vifp lists broadcast and works, very well but my problem is I want to interrogate the remote servers for this vMA host for example I need to check the contents of these files

  Can someone please help me on how to run these commands or another way on how to get this information above hosts and ESXi 4. I checked the forum, but I don't see anything similair nature! now, either I'm stupid full because it's as simple as drinking water and so no one asked or I am just lucky to ask the right question, so be it, I appreciate your time and effort

  So its worth your time through the vMA documentation to understand how to manage your hosts and it's main use case. The operations that you are trying to accomplish cannot be done using vMA... at least in the way that you are hoping for.

  See my vMA article and some of the getting started guides.

  You will want to use esxcfg-dns to list the configured DNS servers

  cat/etc/sysconfig/clock

  This file does not yet exist on ESXi, if you try to set the time on ESXi host, you should use NTP and it is also important to note that single ESXi uses UTC and no other options are available.

  tail/var/log/vmkernel

  If you need to display the host logs, consider using vi logger on vMA OR configure syslog on your host to send to the centralized syslog server

  Regarding the last two commands, they do not apply to an ESXi host and therefore these commands are not available.

  There are certainly differences between ESX and ESXi, understand the differences and orders to ask for certain pieces of information is very important. vMA can help with this, but you must understand the use case of vMA and what tools are at your disposal. The best way to start is to take a look at the documentation, to jump it and try to jump in, will just be confusing.

  If you happen to use the DataFinder server, and if you are using only VBScript DataPlugins, then there is a function to automatically synchronize each connected DIAdem or LabVIEW client DataPlugins with versions updated on the DataFinder Server computer.

  If you use DataPlugins from www.ni.com/dataplugins, then you can have a VBScript that run at startup to check the local version of use compared to the version updated to www.ni.com/dataplugins and download the new version when it is available.

  If you use DataPlugins, you have created yourself, so the only thing I can think is to have a VBScript that run at startup that runs automatically the file *.uri every time that DIAdem launches, although having your use up-to-date on shared DropBox may prevent this option.

• I can't delete photos and other files. These are my own files and they are not open on the computer.

• Cannot search RTF and other files

  Windows 7 will not pick up my RTF files. Now it also lacks the Word files. I tried all the tips of indexing support. There are too many links in the previous posts. Can someone tell me something simple to do?

  We will check to make sure that the search system is to find in RTF files.

  Step 1: enable content for RTF files search:
  1. Type index in the start menu to find and open the Indexing Options, and then click the Advanced button.  On the File Types tab, click the list, and then type "RTF" to access this item.
  2. With selected RTF, set down for "Index Properties and content of the file", then OK to close the Indexing Options.
  Second stage:  The value search to find content, even if the place you are looking for is not yet indexed:
  1. Type folder in the start menu to find and open the Folder Options, then go to the 'Search' tab.
  2. Select option 2: "always search file names and contents..." and then click OK

  • More information: normally, if you are looking in a place that is not indexed, content in files don't is not sought.  This encourages people to add their common to their index storage places, but it also means that if you do not pass this option, results may not be what you expect, because only the names have been raided.

• Why are the HTML (and other) files in Dreamweaver CC not in alphabetical order?

  It's a royal pain to find a file without any order. The previous (CS5 and 6) versions the files placed in alphabetical order. Can Adobe fix this problem?

  Click the headers of the columns in the files window to rearrange them as you see fit.

  If you are not alphabetical or reverse alphabetical, they are probably organized by size, type, or change date by accident. Click on the "Local files" header to go by alpha.

  

• Why have my images not exported via FTP folders and other files?

  Muse new first site filled with versions of office, phone and Tablet and exported via FTP to third party host. HTML and css, but no pictures in the pictures folder?

  I discovered that some of the files were not loaded when I moved the to the root directory to enable the site.  Once I've spotted and sent them to the root directory, the problem has been resolved.
