Webworks projects and several versions of blackberry

Hello html5 developers webworks

I created a test project helloworld webworks using the latest sdk webworks. Now I have problems loading on the playbook Simulator .bar file, but using the dev alpha 10 Simulator it is no problem at all.

My question: I am webworks projects worked on all blackberry devices? What I have to have all versions of the sdk and build each project separately or is this something that will resolve itself once I have signed my projects and download them on the blackberry appworld?

Also, I have to use the command line to build my projects.

You are right. App World, you create a product that can have several versions. For each new version, you can download another file BAR and specify exactly which versions of OS/device/carrier you want to target with this version.

  • Partition reserved system and several versions of Windows

    Separated from this thread.

I noticed that later "versions" of windows 7 (Pro), instead of a 100 GB partition, build a 357 MB system reserved partition. This is also the case for all / most new systems that we receive with Win 7 Pro preinstalled where I work (part-time).

This is also the case with the refurbished Dell OptiPlex 980 I bought last fall. It came with a 350 GB hard drive, the system reserved Partition was / is 357 Mb.

After cloning partitions of windows 7 to a 750 GB hard drive and the narrowing of the Win 7 Pro ("C") 152,49 GB partition I installed Windows Pro 8.1 in its own partition in the GB 545,79 remaining.

Windows 8.1 installed correctly, without any problem, using the system partition reserved 357 existing Mo created by windows 7. All major worked from the go and are still working fine today.

I noticed that when I start to Win 7 Pro, & assigns the drive letter "D" to the partition Win 8.1 Pro and Win 8.1 Pro did the same thing with the partition Win 7 Pro. Of course, the boot partition must be 'C '. Apparently, modern operating systems are "smart enough" to recognize this and make the appropriate drive letter reassignments.

Another note, I have two older systems Dell OptiPlex 620 (the two 32-bit) provided with Windows XP Pro installed. On the same Machine, after the "C" shrinking Windows XP to 25 GB Partition, I installed Windows 7 Pro (32 bit) on the remaining 207 GB. On the second machine, I shrunk Windows XP Pro 60 GB and installed Win 7 Pro on the 125 GB remaining. All of the work so far is fine.

Windows 7 Pro did not build a Reserved Partition system on each computer (Opti-630). I'm assuming it uses the Win XP partitions on them. However, if I remember correctly, Bitlocker is not available in 32-bit versions, so reserved partition is not necessary. Perhaps the other files normally placed in this score are in a "special feature" in Win XP partition?

    Norm Ives

    Norman,

There is some legacy features that are present in all versions of Windows, even Windows 10. One of them is the label C partition to the HARD drive partition where Windows is installed. At the time, when MS-DOS was in use and Windows 1.0, Windows was available as an add-on to the only existing MS-DOS and Windows cannot be installed directly without MS-DOS. Meanwhile, there were two present floppy drives, 'A' and 'B '. 'A' has the files of an operating system and 'B' is the disk storage for user files. So when the HARD drive came, it was the label 'C '. When Windows 3.1 came out, it was a huge plant at this time that it required a HARD drive for installation. The C label was added to HARD drive so HARD drive added. This legacy is maintained to this day. So you see what Windows installation, the installed Windows partition will be labeled as C only. It is also the reason why, every time that you add a floppy drive, the automatically assigned driver letter is or B and nothing else.

Coming to the system reserved partition, it contains the boot files needed to start Windows (and also of BitLocker data, if any), but present in the Windows version where BitLocker is not present (as in the case of Windows 7 Home Premium). Up to Windows XP, the boot settings were managed by a file by the name boot.ini, present in C:\ (at the root of C:\). Then when you upgrading or switching from Windows XP, and that no unformatted partition is available, this means that a new partition cannot be created. In this case, the boot files will be will deposit in the Windows installation partition only. So system reserved partition will be created during the new installation of Windows Vista or later, but if upgraded from Windows XP, startup files will be deposit in the installed Windows partition only.

  • copy a same project and BlackBerry APP World?

I know, I always use the same signature key of deploying applications for BlackBerry World - otherwise it would be 'an other' app and lost all data from sandbox

    What I do not know:

What are the criteria to be sure, that the app is the "same" BB world POV?

    My guess:

It is only the name of the package of bar - descriptor.xml

    Am I wrong?

I ask because I have a few 'old' created from the old SDK and IDE apps and I want to create new in a new workspace of the newest IDE.

so I think it will be ok:

    1. Create a new project in Eclipse with the same name
    2. Use the same package name in bar-descriptor (edited: identical to the in .xml - thx Peter Hansen)
    3. copy of the old project:
    4. / SRC
    5. liabilities
    6. Translations / *. TS
    7. Icon.PNG
    8. make adjustments in .pro (add libs used by the project)
    9. build the project and see if build errors

    If all ok,

    1. remove the old content of local repo Git, copy a new
    2. Check the differences
    3. validate and push
    4. continue normal work

next time, deploying to BB would be recognized as a new version of the existing application

    Don't you think it's safe?

It should be package , no name. Also the AuthorID should be the same, but of course, which has required just to use the same signature keys, so it's kind of force on your.

The field is, I think, irrelevant, which is good because you should be able to change the name of the application without it losing access to data on the sandbox upgrade.

  • Is it possible to implement the sequences to browse to project with several tables of contents and conditionalized modules

I use RoboHelp 9 with WebHelp output.

I have five outings, which one contains help for common functions, while the other four contain help for modules under license. When a user opens a module under license assistance, the user sees the soul help and authorized assistance. In addition, the files are conditionalized so that the unauthorized search a help licensed module brings nothing.

I have been solving problems with the previous topic and the next topic which, thanks William, I learned are associated with browse sequences. After having tried various configurations, I have a few questions:

    • HR support a sequence to travel alone in a project, even when the project has several outputs & fakes?
    • If HR supports a sequence to browse only, does that mean that there is no way to create a unique navigation for each separate output sequence?
    • If HR supports several sequences of travel, which is the workflow?

I also maintain a table of 'master' contents which contains all the modules, frequent and without a license. What I've done for now is to autocreate a browse sequence based on the table of contents "master." When I generate the output of a module under license, which is conditionalized, I only see the table of contents for this module and, therefore, can only travel between books and subbooks for this add-on. I also checked that the subjects that do not appear in the module conditionalized as for another module licensed, do not appear in the list of search results either.

    Me again, Carol

You also questions about the functional differences between WebHelp and WebHelp Pro, so let me explain.

I know only two major differences other than (the additional benefits of analytical feedback reports) and the management of 'Zones' with authentication in RoboHelp Server.

    1. The behavior of browse sequences as explained above
    2. The fact that the categories of content are not supported in WebHelp Pro for this latest version 9.

In regards to sequences to browse you try to anticipate the various modules (licensed, etc.): multiple browse sequences are included in an single . File BRS. Sequences are defined in the XML code in the single file.

As a solution (for WebHelp and WebHelp Pro), you could create a Help.brs of the NPM. that you have already created a module; then backup and archive. Then create a change for the different module before generating again. The Help.brs of the NPM. will need to have the same name as your project, so you will have to manage the .brs desired file in the project folder when you build this version. All your other choices (table of contents, Index, conditional tags, etc) remains the same for the respective modules.

Finally, I notice that you generate apparently WebHelp Pro right now even if you are not published on the server of HR? This is really not the best practice. You must generate WebHelp plain for a web server that has no HR server on it (even if you can be getting away with it). Regarding your concern about "breaking" something; each output is placed in another! SSL! folder automatically when you build, so you should be able to generate WebHelp without interfering with the release of WebHelp Pro. Then, you can republish on the HR using WebHelp Pro Server, whenever the server is ready.

  • Differences between the version of BlackBerry Device Software and platform. Help, please...

    Hi guys!

    I'm really confused... Help, please!

We have developed applications for our customers. We tested with our BB8700 and it works fine.

We used JDE4.2 for development... and we think that it will work on v4.2 based handsets.

But our customers wrote that it works on v3.7. Why? Is this possible?

I looked at the information about my 8700 device and then noticed: v4.2.1.107 (platform v2.3.0.84)

-What are the differences between the version of BlackBerry Device Software and platform?

Possible customers spoke of version 3.7 of the platform?

There is a list of the devices, where we can find the version of BlackBerry Device Software by BlackBerry device model?

Or where we can find information about the models of devices that will support our application?

    Thanks in advance!

AFAIK there is no version 3.7 platform.

Customer talking about the OS version.

So, if they have the device OS version 3.7 you must use JDE JDE 3.6, 3.7 or older.

Or take updated device OS if the necessary software is available.

  • Update 2015.3 is designed to open and use projects from previous versions?

There is much talk in this forum on the problems of opening and editing of projects created in previous versions. Many personal responses I recommend starting new projects and do not continue with the older.

Publishers and producers professional re-edit, to update and extract of old projects all the time. Is there final guidance on what projects/features or versions can be reused?

    Bruce

    Hi Bruce,.

It's giving me advice. You should be able to update any project and it works in many cases, it is simply not advisable on complex projects. For me, it's one with a lot of sequences that contain a lot of cuts, titles and effects. One with many multi camera sequences too. After that compositions Effects connected through dynamic links, media card based instead of footage of codec, etc., intermediate are examples.

With a backup of the project, such as an automatic backup, you can certainly try it. You can always revert to a previous version to continue working.

I am a professional editor who happens to work now at Adobe. Personally, I have avoided all projects in all software updates unless I had to. In doing so, I always did so with a backup.

In general, only update of existing projects after simplify as much as possible and only when you actually need.

    Thank you

If they were recorded at Adobe.com, sign in under the adobe ID, a number will be there.

If they were purchased in the box and unregistered, you need to find the number in the box (usually on the sleeve)

Of course, being on a server made some confusion for PS

    It's ok to remove them.

  • Would it be possible to have 2 shared resources, a local containing all common topics and photos for several projects and another a remote control containing all the topics and pictures for the purpose of collaboration

    Hello

I was wondering, now that I discovered the benefits of eating of the resource, if it would be possible to have 2 shared resources, a local with common themes and images for several projects and another one, remote, containing projects together, i.e. the subjects and images, for collaboration purposes.

The only local, I intend to use it for my purposes to have common points (topics & photos) update of all projects where they appear and the distance that I intend to use it with remote colleagues, who might want to make changes in the topics.

This would mean that the topics and current photos will be present in the resources, one local as one remote.

    Thank you.

SVN is not a source control package?

I'm not sure, but RoboHelp * MAY * be able to integrate with SVN to control projects and sharing.

RoboHelp comes with RoboSource Control that could be used to provide the source code control. But if you already have a package in place, my thought is why reinvent the wheel? Simply use what is there.

    See you soon... Rick

  • Several versions of TestStand (2013 and 2016)

Are there problems of having several versions of the TestStand development environment installed on my development machine? Thank you.

    Hi stephenb2,

There is no problem with having multiple versions of installed TestStand. There are a few things to keep in mind though.

Only one version of TestStand engine can be active at a time. Use the Version TestStand selector to change the active version. Sequence of files created in TestStand 2013 can be opened in 2016, but not vice versa (although you can save as a previous version if you wish). Finally, you have separate directories for each version, so make sure you know what directory/version, you are working in.

    Hope that helps!

Check your Adobe account online.  If you have registered the software version should be shown there.

Never share your serial number publicly... anyone can use it.
