• Shadows of 3D text and shapes do not answer?

  Hey everybody,

  Never had this problem before. As you can see in the screenshot, I have a simple composition... Simply text and shapes on a gray background (shape layer). Text/forms are 30 pixels in front of the gray background. I have a low ambient light and 2 point lights go. Each layer is 3D. I went through the choice of materials for everything to make sure that the "shadows" performed. Also made sure the bottom had "accept Shadows' turned on.

  Any idea on why the shadows are not being cast as usual? You can see the shadows of the circles are cast on the connections between them, but that's. I played with the distance between the text/forms and the gray background, but no difference occurs. Thanks for the help,

  Here's how I diagnose things. First I select the layers that I have problems with and press the U key twice to reveal all the modified properties. In your case, I have a point of light, the background and one of the circles, then gave things a glance. To ensure that the order of the layers was not causing any problems I have moved all the 3 layers to the top, installs the far background a little circle and then took two points of view, and began to turn the effects off one at a time. When I had all the sliders off I found the shadow appeared as if by magic.

  

  I have not taken the time to dig in expressions and understand what they do, but that is your problem. On one of the sliders will turn off in the shade.

  Your light position felt not much either. If the shadow worked because the lights are so close circles shadows will fly everywhere.

  It is also unnecessary to apply the drop shadow if you use lights to cast shadows.

  I have 250 multi-layer PSD (CS5/Win) files.  Each file shows 2 views of a product.  Parts of the product are labels (layers of text with different words). Shape layer arrows point then the text to the specific point on the product label.

  I'm new to Indesign and I am trying to write a long book that looks more like a catalog. I created a file of book (.indb) in which different files (.indd) are introduced.

  Each of these files represent a chapter. All chapters must have the same appearance and layout and I can use text and paragraph styles. But I would also

  to control the position of the blocks of text and images automatically from one master.

  Is this possible? Because now whenever I create a text block in the master, I can't change the text in the pages itselves. Self created an empty framework text, but then I can't

  Add text to the page. How can I make without changing each chapter one?

• Titler won't save titles... text and forms disappear after they are created.

  I can create a new title, but as soon as I got out first (updated latest CS6) and start it again no matter what the title disappears and I'm able to add any text or shapes in this title. It's like he becomes inactive. But the title itself on the program and the timeline monitor always shows as usual. It's just empty and don't make nothing on that.

• T510 - Win7 64bits/Random fuzzy text and icons - please help...

  So I just got my T-510 after a month wait with the screen WLED HD + 1600 x 900 and NVIDIA 3100 Mr. Ocassionlay I would notice some weird pixelation on the desk, but I use it I start to notice an ocassional but a very annoying artifact.

  This can be Blur/Blur text and icons. This text can be on a web site, fast moving text, and even the Start button in the corner appears blurred along the circumference. Also applied to other windows browsers. The blur lasts a few minutes, disappears and is completely random. It can be really pronounced on sites such as Youtube and DIsney. I confirmed this on all major browsers.

  It's really annoying and I have a hard time he described in support of Lenovo. Any help will be appreciated. If anyone else has noticed this?

• Excess of text with multiple layers

  I'm creating a bilingual brochure in InDesign with three layers; German, English and a layer of the image. German and English layers consist only of text boxes. When you view the document in InDesign with each of the three visible layers, some text boxes are the two texts are each on the others and others that one of the text boxes, then the other zone of the other layer text either invisible or packed off the page. This means that when I export it as a PDF file, certain parts of one of the layers of language do not exist. InDesign was told in these places, I have overset text I need to fix. I need the text to inflict on one another, however, so that the two versions are the same.

  Is could someone please tell me what I could do here? I would be very grateful for any help.

  I guess, there is dressing applied on some of the blocks of text.
  Turn off wrapping of text for all text frames and that there should be no problem to export in PDF format with all the layers and objects remain in place.

• New in After Effects 13.8.1 - with audio shape layers!

  

  I just wanted to share a little funny bug. the shape layer has no audio effect applied, and he still has an audio setting. It don't bother me much, although the last thing I need when I'm manipulating shape layers is another rocking to watch in the timeline panel

  Here are the steps to reproduce the problem in my current workstation:

  We have received reports from several users on another problem, which we have not been able to reproduce: by clicking on the layer switches (solo, lock, motion blur, etc.) sometimes unnecessarily vortices open the properties of a layer.

  It turns out that this problem is related to what you just posted on the redundant audio properties. The problem of the twirling property only occurs on these same layers.

  The bug occurs when you work in a model that has been composed before and this model contains a layer with audio, when you add a new layer to this model (any type of layer except the cameras or lights), if this layer should not have audio it will win the audio properties in any case. When you click on a layer switch (for example, solo, lock, a blur of movement, etc.) these layers with redundant audio properties will be automatically twirl open their properties.

  This bug started After Effects 13.8.0. There are still in 13.8.1. I have described it in our bugs database and ask so that it can be fixed in our next release.

  The twirling of the property problem can't for layers that have real audio. for example, with audio images, or a solid with the effect of the tone. This does not happen for the layers without audio created before the bug conditions occur (computer pre composed containing a layer with audio).

  I found a few solutions workaround for this problem.

  The simplest solution is to add the effect of audio signal to the affected layers and then disable audio (the switch icon small speaker) for these layers. The problem only occurs on the layers that have no audio, so the addition and then cut audio takes layers on the bad state.

  There is another, more cumbersome workaround that effectively eliminates the redundant audio properties:

  1. In the model problem, select all the layers having audio.
  2. Remove (temporarily, it gets canceled at step 5) these layers.
  3. Select all the remaining layers (or at least those with the redundant audio properties).
  4. Activate a switch layer for all selected layers, such as Solo or lock. Redundant audio properties will disappear.
  5. Cancel twice: once to cancel the toggling the layer switch and a 2nd time to undo the deletion of step 2.

  Redundant audio properties won't return after the cancellation. Unfortunately, this only solves the problem for existing layers. Adding new layers will still get the attached redundant audio properties.

  In any case, my thanks to you once again, Yang, to post the steps to repro the problem. That's the key for me to discover the cause of the problem, much more annoying.

• Reagent: text and image move together

  So, I hope that it is very simple, something simple I'm missing.

  I want that my text and images remain "attached" to another, rather than dragging on the other I'm resizing the Muse (and preview when I look at a preview in Chrome). As you can see in my screenshot, at some point, this happens, and at some point it does not work: title text block 'IJsbreker' remains perfectly in place under the image, but the foregoing is waaayyy down and slides on my image. I have no idea why this is happening: all the text boxes and picture are pinned the same, I have the same resize 'features' (the text boxes are all width and the images are all of width/height). I have no idea what I'm doing wrong with the boxes of slide on each other, or what I do with the boxes that do not stay in the right place.

  Hi Anoek,

  I took a glance to your file and was able to discover the problem. What you see should not happen with the simple layout of image/text/image/text/etc. However, it seems that there is a bug caused by the many items hidden on the page (take a look in the layers panel). Hidden items were prejudicial to the page layout that you rub the smaller browser width, which they should not do, because they are hidden! The good news is that you should not copies of the any of these elements. Instead, simply change the text attributes, position and size accordingly in each breakpoint.

  I edited your file to use only one copy of each block of text and image, which fixed the problem. You can download the modified version of your file here. Let me know if you have any questions.

  You can do in PSE.

  1. Do the math to see how much space you'll need on your canvas to the image and text.
  2. Navigate to the file queue > new.blank. Enter the width & height, background color, resolution 72 px / in. It is your canvas, and in the layers palette will be the background layer.
  3. Copy and paste the image. It turns on a separate layer
  4. Activate the tool move, position the image and resize if necessary
  5. Activate the text tool, and then type your text. It will be on a separate so layer
  6. Position the text.
  7. Flatten layers and go to file > save for web. I'm usually on the long side about 800 px. Don't forget to check "constrain proportions". Adjust the quality slider to suit. You will probably want the type of JPEG file for web work.

  Probably hit the toggle to show/hide the bounding box is (Ctrl) Cmd - Shift - B. Some other programs use this to activate fake "BOLD".

  Hello, I can't find an answer to this.

  I am unfortunately quite new to photoshop and im trying to create a logo, perhaps I should have used illustrator instead, but my problem is the following:

  I created a path, a circle and were able to put text around it. but now, when I try to change my other text on other layers, the text tool ALWAYS comes back to that path on the layer that has the text on the circular trail and I can't select text on other layers.

  How am I supposed to select other layers/text/deselect text on path?

  When you do the line is highlighted as shown in the bottom example.

  You can do this:

  (1) create the initial direct Type;

  (2) in the appearance palette dialog, click on add a new fill and define the color as you wish;

  (3) effect > convert to shape > Rectangle corners round/Rectangle/Ellipse and set parent > width/extra height as you wish (essentially what needs to be added to the size of the bounding box, if anything).

  After that you can change the Type and the filled area will fit as shown on the picture.

  I have a document of a few pages, but a story. The right column is the area of main text and on many places, anchored text boxes are placed which appears on the left column, as shown below.

  I want the text of each text box anchor to cut of his place and sticking to its point of insertion/anchor and remove all of the empty boxes of anchored.

  I'm trying since this morning but I was able to get the anchor object reference. Any help on how to start with will be useful.

  OK, let's say you have a main text (not rooted) box and three text boxes that are anchored to the text it contains. One is anchored with text, the second is not anchored and the third argument is empty (I won't get into the anchor vs custom anchor line given that you mention in your message).

  I guess the takeaway is perhaps you aren't looking at the main text block and then check if anything it is anchored. You are watching each text block and find out if it is anchored. That's my approach, anyway.
