You can "downgrade" to win 7 BUT dependent on the Lim, it may void your warranty and there is perhaps no drivers for your computer with windows 7.

Putting aside the modern splash screen (which you can ignore at startup) win 7 and win 8 are very similar.  If you don't like the modern user interface, you don't need to use it.

  • What can I put in my Pavilion dv8000, p/n EZ706UA #ABA?

I would like to get a faster processor and more memory in this old laptop without spending too much $$. It says that I have

    Processor: Genuine Intel(r) CPU T2050 @ 1.60 GHz (2 CPUs)
Memory: 1022 MB of RAM and I am running XP Pro

I would like to put it on Win 7, after I get a new memory and a new processor.

What CPU can I put here, and even for memory, and it is very difficult, or even really not very profitable? I did it on the mainframes of old office, but never in a laptop. Can I even swap on a USB 2 and get a USB 3?

  • Can I put Windows XP to Windows 7 without him deleting anything?

I've been running windows xp, someone told me that I can put windows 7 on xp with out takeing it out is it is true

No, it is not possible to perform an upgrade in-place from Windows XP to Windows 7.  In addition, if the computer came with Windows XP, it may well not be able to support Windows 7.

  • What can I put the RAM and the hard drive of a Macbook Pro 13 "2014 in a Macbook Pro 13" 2016?

The main logic of my Macbook Pro 13 "2014 card is broken, and it turns out that it will be much easier and just slightly more expensive, buying a new Macbook Pro that, in order to replace. I would like to set up my new Macbook Pro 13 "online in a way such that it is as cheap as possible, while always respecting the level of my former. So, if I could order one with the minimum of RAM and disk space hard and then put these pieces of my old in the new, this would be ideal. -2.9 GHz i5 or i7 3.1 (I've not yet decided)

-RAM: Here I want to configure it with as little as possible, if I can just put the chips of the old in the new. Is this possible?

-Hard drive: same thing: if possible, I want to get the cheapest option and simply put the old in the new. Possible?

  • Can I put Windows 7 on a Dell Dimension 4600?

    Hello

I have a 6 years old Dell Dimension 4600 PC with the following specifications:

    • Processor Pentium 4 3.0Ghz
    • 1 GB OF RAM
    • nVidia Geforce FX5200 128 MB graphics card
    • Windows XP Home Edition
I expect to make a custom on this old PC Setup, but my problems are with the drivers.
I recently used the special Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, which tells me that I meet all of the minimum requirements, and of course programs such as Outlook Express will not available on Windows 7.
In the middle of this report is a link to the Dell (Windows 7 section) website where they tell me to go learn more about compatibility. When I do click on this site and then click on hardware compatibility, it brings me to the next page: http://support.euro.dell.com/support/topics/topic.aspx/emea/shared/support/dsn/en/document?c=uk&docid=360683&l=en&s=gen
The page says there is apparently only ONE socket support Dell Dimension model which can be improved on the range Dimension, covering a good 30-50 models. I'm sure that this is due to support driver from Dell, which is absolutely horrendous. The drivers on the site range Dell Web from 2004 to 2007 (for the only critical updates), for my model. The only OS supported on the site it is XP. Research on the Web sites of manufacturers of drivers, I find that the newer drivers are available for my hardware, more compatible with Vista. Do I have the old OEM from Dell specific drivers or the drivers provided by manufacturers! Can I REALLY move to Windows 7! Dell said it is not supported (and is fast enough to give me a link telling me to buy a new PC), but I have friends who have installed on other Dimensions of Dell old where it worked a treat. I don't want to lose £70 on a BONE that may not work and may leave me without a usable PC!
    What should I do!

    Hi Fred

Not taken in charge and is not possible are 2 different things.

How you proceed depends on how comfortable you are troubleshooting. It is very likely that you will end up you are looking for a few drivers for hardware on the sites of manufacturers or possibly replace certain hardware devices that are simply too old to work.

Windows 7 includes many of the compatibility of the tools that can help when you use the devices more old drivers/hardware and software troubleshooting.

If the Upgrade Advisor did not identify hard incompatible devices, I would say you should go try before the upgrade. Make sure you have all the latest drivers for the hardware installed and available on external media.

If you have any problems, come back here and start the new thread, we are here to help.

    Kind regards

  • can I put windows 7 on a laptop that was given to me?

They gave me a laptop, I can put my Windows 7 top?   I have a drive to restore a desktop computer that is dead?  Both Dell Inspiron computers.

You cannot transfer an OEM of Windows from one computer to the other version.  When the original computer dies, the license dies with her.  You can purchase a license upgrade for the laptop that you has been provided and update in this way, assuming he has XP or Vista on it now.

    Good luck.

  • What can I put in my laptop?

I've had this laptop for quite some time and it was wonderful!  I wanted to know what all I could be upgraded on this laptop.  I really do I wait a bit, but I try to wait for that one!

    I have a HP Pavilion dv6119us.

    I also have this information:

Operating system: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3

    Processor: AMD Turion (TM) 64 X 2 Mobile Technology TL-50, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs), ~1.6GHz
    Memory: 958 MB RAM

    Hello:

The only thing that I might consider getting with this laptop if I were you, is in memory of 2 GB max.

You have only 1 GB. These days, it's marginal.

It would make a nice improvement in performance.

Use the free memory Crucial scanner and it will let you know what memory you need.

If you are a student and live in the United States, and that you want to update your operating system to Windows 7 Professional, you can get it for $29.99 on the link below. You must have a College e-mail address.

Otherwise, you'd be paying over $ 100 for the upgrade to W7 Home Premium retail version and I don't think it would be worth to pay that kind of $$ in your machine.
