What color space is indicated first in the RAW files?
When I first open a new image (NEF RAW files) folder in the bridge, they are presented in a vibrant color space. After a minute or three colours fade to the RAW setting in Camera RAW.
There is no other type of files in the folder, so bridge is seen in assuming something about these RAW files until it changes.
What is this color space vibrating? Can I access it? See it displayed? Control it? There are times, it would be very useful to have access to it.
I use CS3 on Windows 7 (even if it's the same thing with XP).
Thanks for any help.
Ed
When you open the folder of RAW images, it reads the JPEG data for the thumbnail generation. Usually within a second or two that is replaced by thumb RAW. What looks like to depends on your RAW default settings.
In CS4, there is an option to have the JPEG inches.
Click on this link. It gives a good explanation on the parameters that determine the miniature RAW appearance.

In what color space is LR mobile make the raw images share?
The title says pretty much all this. I installed LR on my iPad, import raw images captured with the Camera Connection Kit, previously made some changes and exported jpg by email to myself. The files come into Photoshop as "mystery meat", i.e. without embedded profile, or even an exif tag. I'm probably leaving sRGB, but it would be useful that Adobe would include at least the color space tag in the exported file.

Hey Richard Southworth,.
Your assumption is correct. They are sRGB.

What is the best color space for workflow photo where the goal is marketing and selling prints?
The really important thing here is not work in the color space. The important thing is that you set up your calibration targets so they correspond to the document that you are printing on. This means that the white monitor should be a Visual match white paper and black monitor a match to the density of the ink max for the paper.
But to answer the question - assuming that you print on an inkjet printer, Adobe RGB should cover most of what the printer can reproduce on a glossy paper of good quality. If you have or get a range wide screen you will also be able to see the range of the file to the screen and you can then test your profile to print with confidence that "what you see is what you get".
Some will say that good inkjet reproduce some colors that are in fact outside the Adobe RGB, and so you have to work in ProPhoto. While technically true, this superior to Adobe RGB color range is very small and very limited and IMO a fairly minor concern.

Is there a way in LR to say what color space photo is stored in?
I have a lot of files Tiff 16-bit in my Lightroom library. I'm looking for a simple way to determine what color space has been assigned to them. The only way I know to find out is to open them in Photoshop. Lightroom has a way to tell me? This seems like a pretty basic capacity for high level like Lightroom photo software, but I can't. File Tiff still has numbers RGB of origin who had the RAW file, or have been changed as a result of the color space used? If the original numbers are still there, so maybe that the assigned color space is not serious, and I can change it if I want to? I'm using Lightroom 5.5 on a windows 7 64 system.
In Lr5 - Yes, well: sorta...
No display on the right metadata, or in lib filters, but smart collections have rule - see 'color-> color Source profile. Unfortunately, one must know ahead what to look for, but still: it's better than nothing...
For example:
Rounds to the top of all the photos with the Adobe RGB profile.
And you can have another with "contains the sRGB..."

How will I know what color space is assigned?
How will I know what color space has been assigned to an image imported into lightroom. I think that sRGB is affected when it was edited in Photoshop and saved in TIFF format, but how can I check that in Lightroom?

Hi can someone help me... I try to open my microscope fluorescnece images and they are all just empty black screen while the merged file shows the image. I can't change grayscale in RGB color space (like my single images the info on them is gray and the merged image color space is RGB)
Try to update your video card driver to exclude
Then reset your preferences - with Photoshop CC you can do it in the preferences. Earlier versions require that you press the modifier keys that you launch Photoshop. Ctrl alt shift on Windows or cmd opt shift on Mac.

After you change the raw file in CS6, jpeg looks dull and has weird tinge to it. I tried all color adjustments, but the result is the same throughout, jpegs of LR5 and 13 elements looks nice and consistent. How can I fix it?
Make sure the jpg has embedded sRGB profile.
In what application you view jpg files?
The symptoms you describe are typical of images with Adobe RGB or ProPhoto read in an application that does not support color management.

What additional features are available for the raw files?
When I'm working on the raw files in lightroom, I notice nothing else I can do with them that I can't do with JPEG files. With the JPEG files I can adjust the balance of whites and pretty much everything. When you work on a raw image, I see no difference in what I can do. However, the controls are there. So, what is the difference? Thank you for your help.
From a functional point of view, the RAW files are usually rather larger than JPEG files, but can be a joy to work with the help of Adobe's Camera Raw (the engine which results in Ps and Lr modifiable RAW).
A few points:
1. all JPEG images (from RAW files) are compressed down to a depth of 8 bits, so, technically, we don't work with almost as many possible colors as for RAW formats (which are the property of the manufacturer of the device). »
2. According to what you read, you may fall on the apocryphal information that says "your camera does no change for RAW images that capture." It's not exactly the case: all the cameras 'interpret' the 'Photonics' image data entering the CMOS sensor from behind a table of Bayer (in general). Depending on which filter through the matrix Bayer, that a photon passes through, the camera interprets the electronic data from the CMOS as red, green or blue light. There are several other "interpretations" as well.
3. on these two points: http://www.luminous-landscape.com/tutorials/understanding-series/u-raw-files.shtml
4. I found that with my digital SLR 'starter', (sad, sad) 10Mpx files aren't as pleasant to work with, say, my T3i 18Mpx files. So beware, if you have a camera Mpx lowest, you won't see much change with each increase in "Blacks" for example (or 'contrast', 'fill light' or 'brightness') than you will with a model more great.
But, working with RAW images, these other reasons and is better than to work with JPEG images. Link to this post Forums Adobe to learn more: http://forums.adobe.com/message/2690352

You can download the plugin from 8.3 camera setup, which should work on windows xp

If the above does not work you can use the manual install method explained here:

Best way to sort, organize and delete the RAW files?
Hello world
I am looking for a way to simply sort through a series of close to 600 raw on a Mac files. I'm very new to this, so bare with me :)
At first, I downloaded the raw files from my SD card in my iPhoto which led to all the files in JPEG format. So I decided that it was no good, so I tried to put the CR2 files in an organized folder and dragging the file in the preview. I find that the preview is verrrry slow. I'm looking for the best way to sift through
These files and choose the best/remove the worst. What do you recommend? I plan on changing the files in Photoshop and Lightroom.
Is there a place in Lightroom where I can get this sort of process I speak of? Or do I have to download another type of organization program offline?
Thank you
If you mean the word "out" the process of getting rid of the 'bad' images, and Yes keeping 'good' images, Lightroom can do this as many other programs.
In Lightroom, you would import the 600 images together, and when the import process is completed (this may take a few minutes or more depending on your computer), then you can scroll through each image and if you decide that it is a 'bad' image that you don't want to keep, press X, then go to the next image. Once this is done, you can delete all the photos that you have assigned X in a single action.
Other programs will probably allow you to do this "spell" faster, but I can't talk about them.

Corrupting the RAW files Lightroom? Hardware problem?
I started having some problems with being corrupt when RAW files I open them in Lightroom. I did a lot to solve problems and to limit the symptoms, and this is what I can tell you. If anyone has any ideas about how to solve this problem, I would really appreciate it!
Material
Canon 7 d, 1 32 GB, 1 CF card of 4 GB CF card
Lenovo laptop, win 8. Lightroom 4
Dell PC, Win7, Lightroom 5
Here's what corruption looks like in my view of the library. Note that all the pictures are the same. I just quick-draws a bunch of shots in the hallway to test this out.
I first noticed the corruption on the PC, shooting photos of the 32 GB card. I bought a new hard drive (SSD hybrid), installed a clean version of Windows 7 and upgrade to Lightroom 5, then the 5.3 update. I have re-uploaded a few photos of the 32 GB card, and they are always corrupt. So here is my new events:
- I shot a series of photos as mentioned above on 32GB card, downloaded on the laptop with a USB cable. The photos look good.
- I shot a series of pictures on 4GB card, downloaded to the laptop with the same cable, they seem good.
- I have imported the same photos of the card 4 GB and the 32 GB on the PC card with my existing Lighrtoom catalog and they are corrupt.
- I created a new catalog of Lightroom on PC and downloaded the same pictures of the card 4 GB and the 32 GB on the PC card, and they are corrupt.
So, what gives? I think we can exclude from corruption or see questions on the hard drive, the operating system, the USB cable and both of the cards It baffles me that a new clean, new OS install HD catalogue, USB cable and upgrade Lightroom have not solved the problem. Is it possible that there is another part of the material on my PC which is corrupting the files?
I'd like an idea if people have ideas!
Thank you
AdamAH HA! Found the problem.
I was wrong when I said that I had read / edition / exported one of the files above. It turns out it was another file in the series. After several tests with the original memory card, it is clear that corruption happened in the car plug. Try to view the images on the memory card via the card reader integrated on my Macbook Pro so that a 3rd party USB card reader both show the same corruption. The card (or maybe camera, although less I think) corrupted file in the capture / write times.
I think that the reason why that corruption was not visible in Lightroom, until I saw to the magnifying glass was that I had the opportunity to "Build overviews" in LR "Minimal" value, which means that he was using the built-in previews and only renders don't not a preview of the file RAW itself. Lightroom only attempted to construct a standard in the RAW file preview once I opened it in the Loupe, so that's when corruption was first visible in LR. It's what made me think that I could see the file becomes corrupted on the fly. I had put in Lightroom to build some of the RAW file when you import (using the "Standard" or "1 / 1" ") likely corruption would have immediately shown.
Appreciate the feedback and advice. Apologies for not doing my due diligence ahead and excluding the memory card. I had been cheated on my previous interactions with files that threw me a little trail during troubleshooting.
Keep, nothing to see here

Having trouble getting the raw files to open in Photoshop CS2
Feel stupid.
Have the new Canon 5 d Mark II and raw files first shot. Went to open them in CS2 (my old 20 d files open fine) and got the error message.
Came to the adobe site, new camera_raw.8bi download, followed the instructions to move it in the right folder, old archived. Nothing. Same mistake. Checked the "help > about plug-ins >" and it only shows the gross.
Returned to the adobe site and looked into the DNG Converter (don't know why I need that - can't I just open it in CS2 as ago?) and downloaded the zip (5.1). No instructions I can find anywhere on what to do with these files. Drag the .exe on my desk and pulled upward, said one of the raw files and. . . got an error "there was an error of analysis of the file."
Any help would be greatly appreciated. In particular, I would like to be able to open the files in CS2, if possible.
Thank you

How to separate the Raw files of the photo library
My photo library is over 700 GB. I have a lot of raw files that are 30 MB or more. How can we separate the raw files in a separate file or a separate library?
Duplicate your photos library in the Finder and then remove all the BULLIES of the first library photos and all photos that are not the RAW files of the second library.
You can search for RAW photos with a smart album:
File > new Smart Album
Then set the rule set to "picture is GROSS."
Of the other library use the rule 'The Photo is not BELIEVED'.
