  Hi, I'm trying to find a solution that works like this:

  Users connect to a host of Win 2008 R2 with the RDP client, opens the vSphere Client and can mount the ISO as a virtual CD-ROM on the RDS Server.

  I was initially thinking to allowing users to change a setting of VM and browse data stores to mount an ISO, but this also means that the user will see all the other VM and catalogues on data warehouses, which is not an ideal solution. Since it is not possible to give access rights to individual records in a data store, or prevent users to see all the VMS in vCenter5, this is not an option.

  So, I install an ISO, editing directly on the terminal server tools server, IE. Deamon Tools or similar. But that works only for 1 user in time. For example is users evaluations1 is connected and mount ISO RedHat, all users connected to the terminal server server will also have the same ISO attached to the virtual machine (if they choose to use the client machine). Which means that if User2 connects to the terminal server, it will see that RedHat ISO's mounted alread and get a different ISO. User1 then have will be so happy to lose the connection to the ISO.

  So is anyone know another method to do this? All hosts are running ESXi5 and vCenter5. Thank you

  You can actually mount an ISO stored on a local disk of Windows and also accessible network location where vSphere Client is installed.

  I guess Sata 2 being public for so long, this new laptop of my he.

  I want to buy one of the nicer SSD for this camera, but I can't confirm anywhere it runs up to 300 megs.

  If it is Sata 1 so I would not get improved performance of an SSD as the rate of disk HARD 7200 RPM up to 100 megs.

  I contacted HP Support and said that my laptop only has Sata 1.

  I find that impossible to believe.  Why in the world, HP would do that?  I read in a post on the forums that this laptop

  falls in the top 5% for overall performance for laptops.  How is it, unless it has sata 2?  Why would they

  have old Sata 1 in these new technologies?

  Can anyone confirm if HP Support is correct?  I have the second guy guess himself right now and he asked serial number try to find documentation in support of its application.  I can have to RMA this beast and starts looking for a laptop that has SATA II because it's the main reason I wanted a laptop!  For the SSD to IMPRESS me!

  Currently, I have a few very large volumes on the SAN (2.0 1.5 TB) to be my warehouses up to some comments from Suse Linux ES. I have volumes/data warehouses for the operating system itself that I ride the big volumes/data warehouses in the sharing of files/Home areas, etc.. Although the 2.0 TB 1.5 we should last awhile, I fear I might have to increase the storage space in the next 2 years. What I read, I can not simply to increase the size of the volume on the SAN and then increase the VMFS datastore. If this is true, who can put me in a difficult position later.

  So my question is - I'd be better off using an initiator iSCSI in the prompt to mount these volumes directly from the SAN? I would gain the ability to resize these volumes in the future?

  I'm losing sleep over this...

  I think that the answer will almost always come down 'it depends' rather than a "this is how you should do it."  You will need to run instant EqualLogic or replication on this large LUN?  If so, it might make more sense to have it as an iSCSI attached inside the guest volume and not a VMDK file on a VMFS storage.  You will always be able to expand the LUNS on the fly if you need to.  That way the snapshot might be conscious application, but I don't know if the EqualLogic Host Integration Toolkit supports Linux (maybe, not sure).

  If you attach it inside the comments rather than VMFS volumes then you will need to do multiple paths inside the host, rather than the ESX level.  Not better/worse, just different.

  Make sure you understand all your needs before making any design decisions that will be difficult to change in the future.
