• Japanese fonts are cut by pix 2 or 3 on each text box, among other...

  I was really hoping that this issue would be resolved with Captivate 4, but no luck.  I'm working on a Japanese English PC inputing through an IME, and each unique text box has problems.  Or fonts are cut on the top by 2 or 3 pixels, otherwise they swell in somewhere between a normal font and a bold font.  Not a single text box will make what it looks like in Captivate before I saw it.  Everything looks wonderful in Captivate, but no matter how I saw or make, it's just awful.

  Any help is very appreciated!

  First of all, I assume you mean legends of text here?

  Assuming I'm reading correctly, I wonder if you tried to set the margins for the legend type you are using. For example, if you use the type of legend blue Adobe, when we look at where Captivate has been installed

  (for me on my own PC for Captivate 4, I look here):

  D:\Program Adobe Captivate 4\Gallery\Captions)

  You should see the files ending with .fcm.

  For the type of blue legend Adobe, find you five of them:

  

  If you change each and adjust the margin values. Then create a new project and use the legend type Blue Adobe. See if that makes a difference in the appearance of the font. I am not sure, it will be, but it can't hurt to try. Who knows, it may just solve the problem.

  Hey, I have the problem that the ascending and descending of some fonts are cut.

  I'm pretty new to Muse and would like to help with this! I can't figure out how to change that.

  When I started my business, I had a company logo and Web site designed for me by another company.  This company no longer exists and all that I have left the source files of my logo and Web site.  They gave me the logo in PNG format.  I'm doing the different sizes and shapes of my logo, but when I open the PNG file in Fireworks (CS5), it is said that the police is absent, so if I want to replace the fonts or maintain the appearance.  I'm looking for on what font was used in the original PNG file?  When I select the text, the font selection box is empty, so I don't see what font was originally used...

  If you choose the option 'replace fonts' you will be presented with a list of the fonts used in the PNG file.

  But seriously. For a newspaper, I would avoid without font ("Arial", Helvetica, universe, myriad). Why not try some of the rich classics? A few of them come on the InDesign DVD, but I don't know which. Minion Pro is a very nice, but perhaps too modern. Try Jenson Pro, Caslon Pro or Adobe Garamond Pro. The 'Pro' means that these fonts have extended features, such as the former graphic ornaments (very pretty when used in the proper context!), style old numbering and true small capitals.

  Use a classic police will be your journal gives a very high class look.   I just noticed a folder named "Final Cut Backups" in my movies folder. It is very small (18 MB). My Final Cut Pro libraries file is 5 GB. What is it and do I need? I guess that since it is so small, that it doesn't hurt really...  Since I'm on a laptop, I am always concerned about space. I have a 2 to external for FCP stuff.

  It contains copies of the libraries that you are working on. They are backup up automatically every 15 minutes approximately. They are not of your media, this is why they are so small.

  I'm new to the forum, but have been using labview for awhile. Finally found something that really puzzled me, hope I can find someone who is smarter than me! It may be something obvious too, but here goes. The attached vi is the cause of the error. I have a serial number I need to convert a decimal string into a number, I use later the number of "math" so he need as a number. The system always receives a serial number of 6 characters (ie. 123456), but today the system has received a serial number with two leading figures of the scale (ie. 003456) zeros. This compensation of all the bells of alarm stream (sent 4 digits), but the error found that started the 'intelligence' at the beginning of the monitoring program. I would like to know if there is a way to force the zeros in the decimal number in string to not shave off the coast of the 6-digit value above.

  The problem is not the string functions.  This is the display format for your digital indicator.  Change the properties on that.

  Hello Wolfgang: Look at the Luis response in this thread. MS Shell dialog is listed under the key listed by Luis: on my machines is translated to MS Sans Serif WinXP in Win7.

  I created the EN with 4 dimensions as POV, but when I run the report, the data does not, unless I specify the POV at the zero level. Fact the POV must also be at the zero level, my understanding was if the POV is at the top of the page generation or level the report should give us the number.   I m working on a project for a client of mine: an educational comic strip that will be used in some schools in my country (product printing).

  I m using font "Tekton Pro Bold Oblique" and "Tekton Pro Bold Condensed". I think they came with InDesign when I downloaded it.

  Since this is my first project of this kind I want to doublecheck: have I not all rights to use these fonts? They come with my subscription of the CC?

  In addition, I ve got the CC edition student and teacher. This evolution of sth. ? According to Adobes log I m right of the to use commercially - so I hope not!

  Tekton supplied with your installation of Adobe CC. Surprisingly, Adobe helps the student/teacher version be used in commercial productions. Therefore, there is no problem.

  In General: any font that is allowed to print may be used in your workflow. Typekit is a good source for fonts, but there is also the free Google Fonts . You can also try those.

  I worked on a project for several months now, and this is something that I don't understand.

  Fonts I select in the list of fonts in InDesign that seem to be working correctly, i.e. for months that I get no error message, will all of a sudden (like today) reported as not in use.  Then I have to change anything that I used this font for.

  Now my project does use a few words of Korean and Chinese (Mandarin I guess) and Thai as well, it's not like Geneva or Helvetica suddenly gets rejected.  But why, if I use a font that I should not, accept it for months at a time and then suddenly InDesign protest?

  Missing is not the same thing as "cannot be used. This means that the font is installed on your system or stored in a folder of fonts in the Document alongside the .indd file.

  Hello, I recently just got how integrate web fonts - Tykepit (fonts obtained while creating an Adobe Typekit kit, not through the Adobe Edge Web Fonts).   You can apply the font of the text panel, or select the text itself and apply the police.
