What happens if your storage iCloud drive is greater than your storage unit? It will fill your iphone or iPad?

I've updated the plan of 250 GB. I am about to transition about 60 GB in front of another cloud provider, who will be my total storage to 100 GB.

ICloud Drive on my iphone 64 GB and ipad automatically try and synchronize all of these files? Is it possible to stop the application to do this - i.e. be selective around folders synchronized to your ios devices?

See you soon

Glynne

iCloud is a servcie synchronization switch.

All that is stored in your folder on the drive on your PC icloud is synchronized to your device. To be selective about your synchronization, monitor which is stored in this folder.

    and how to fix

If you try to turn it on it is still wet, the battery power could fry the material inside the iPhone. Electricity + water =

Do not power it on until you have let it dry for a few days. Some people use bags of rice, but I recommend what rice can get stuck in the helmet and refill holes. Use rather these silica packets that come with clothes and shoes if you have. Place the iPhone in a bag with the packages. They absorb water much more quickly, then the phone leaving aside to dry.

  • Phone has been "redevelopment" iCloud drive for more than a day now

In parameters, iCloud Drive was churning "valorisation" for more than a day now. Did not help restart the phone. iPhone 6 s, iOS 10.0.2.

    Thank you!

What kind of "reboot", you have?  What was this - restart your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch - Apple Support?  If you did, and it did not work, try switching iCloud drive, power switch (settings > iCloud > iCloud drive).  If this does not work, try to connect to your iCloud account and reconnect.

  • When to charge your iPhone or iPad

There is a lot of myth and folklore surrounding Chargers of iOS (or in fact any device that uses technology Lithium batteries). A lot of it comes the advice given to older technologies, such as Nickel-Cadmium or Nickel-metal-hydride batteries. None of this applies to Lithium, however and some of what we "know" by NiCd and NiMH days is actually harmful to the modern battery technology.

    Things to understand:

    • The "charger" for an iOS device is integrated into the device. It's not the thing that plugs into the wall, and it is not the cable that connects the thing that plugs into the wall for the phone. They are just a current source and a way to do it on the phone, respectively.
    • A flow completely a Lithium battery, even once, will kill him. (Unlike batteries NiCd and NiMH, where people really completely would drain to avoid the "memory effect").
    • The internal charger is 'smart' - it prevents the overload device, and it will try to prevent the unit to completely drain the battery by turning off the unit until the battery is fully discharged.
    • When the phone turns off at 0% it really is not equal to zero; It there's still enough fresh on the device to prevent the battery from completely flat. Similarly, 100% is not the maximum that the battery can store; It stops a little short of maximum load to prevent overload.
    • The worst thing you can do is drain the battery at 0%, then not load it immediately. After having reached zero and shuts down there is a small amount of energy left, but if you leave without charge for a long time he end flat and kill the battery. So if it reaches zero, charge it soon (in hours). And never leave a phone unused for weeks or months on end without recharge periodically.
    • You should only use sources of energy of high quality USB to load your iOS device. They do not have to Apple (although Apple made good), but they should never be sources USB cheapo, both because they may damage the phone and they can hurt you.
    • The power source must supply at least 1 ampere to recharge an iPhone and 2 amps to recharge an iPad. Note, however, that a power source that can provide more of these values is OK to use it; the internal battery charger will be only what suits him. So, for example, you can safely charge your iPhone with an iPad USB adapt.
    • iOS devices quickly cool until they reach about 75%; the rate then slows to prevent overload. Then, it will reach 75% very quickly (less than an hour), but it may take a few hours longer to reach full charge.

So what are the "rules" to the load? The simplest is fresh when you want, for a long as you want. There is no reason to drain the unit completely before recharging (in fact, it is a bad idea to do it on a regular basis), and there is no need to wait until it reaches 100% before you remove it from the power source.  You can load when it is 40% and disconnect when it reaches 80%, or all other values, without hurting the phone.

The best practice, however, is to charge the phone at night, every night. It stops automatically at 100% you can't overload it doing this. So, you start the day with a fully charged phone. And, if you configure the phone for the automatic backup using iTunes or iCloud, the phone will back up every night when he has a WiFi connection and fell asleep.

Lawrence, thank you for this good information.  Please can you develop on the second to the last point a little more about the statement "the power source must provide at least X amp to charge a Y".  It seems that the use of less X amps to charge the device, but you say that night to the device's battery?

  • What happens in files on iCloud, which account no longer exists

I recently changed my internet provider and changed my Apple user ID. I never used the cloud before. Now, when I got to my new user name all together towards the top, the opposition a Division kept popping up sometimes. So, I have backed up this error because iCloud sent me a warning message that my iCloud is almost up to 5 GB. I got especially photos and videos, there was no loss because I have them on another drive.

The account has been deleted by me, so it is no longer accessible for me. Apple removes the account/files when asked is no longer for some time?

System of preferences/iCloud and select manage. Select each item to see if it shows the data. If so, you can delete it.

  • What happens if your comments analysis and challenge

We certainly appreciate the new analysis. We use it now to see if our new OPA rules can give the same results as a legacy application.

However, we have an immediate challenge affecting the "what-if" analysis

The first rule we write always is "today = current date".

Then, we use today's value to changer used from the time of the observer. Rules which should pull in the future can be tested as if we were in the future by setting the value of "today" at a later date. This gives us a simple 'what-if in the future we have added this rule' type of analysis.

Unfortunately, we cannot change the value of "today" or any other intermediate value by using the "what-if" analysis Intermediate values are cleaned as soon as we hit the button "analyse".

How to set intermediate values for analysis?

    Thank you
    Paul Fowler

    Hi Paul

Getting back to your original question, it seems to me that you can easily reach what you want to do by simply today = the current date a rule shortened. You get the same result assumed today in production as a normal rule, but it is now regarded as a basic attribute rather than deducted, in solving your problem and if. Maybe I'm missing something?

Write me if you want me to send you a simple sample project, I created to show you what I mean.

    See you soon

  • What happens when your computer dies and you need to reactivate your applications on a new computer, but you can't turn them off the old computer?

My computer died recently. I had the right to install applications on two different machines. My new Mac is here and my panic to get back to work by using the CC apps, I reinstalled the on the new machine. Now I'm able to use them on my laptop because I wasn't able to disable out old Mac applications and this is why Adobe think I used my two installs.

    Hello

You can actually have installed creative cloud and on two computers, signed as long as you don't use it on one at a time. Download and install as you did on the first computer, sign in to your Adobe account on the Adobe using your Adobe ID website, download the desktop app from clouds, then download the software. Sign on a computer that should not be used: log in and log out of the desktop Adobe Creative Cloud application

You can download the installer for Creative Cloud from here:
Creative cloud help | Creative cloud desktop.

After you install the creative Cloud desktop application, you will need to sign in with a login password and Adobe. Then you can install applications. This link provides more information and step by step instructions, if you need: CC help | Download, install, update or uninstall applications

    Hope this helps

  • How to save the document iWork on iCloud drive?

I have 4 files in my player to iCloud.  When I create a new document in Pages and save it in the folder of chemistry, I noticed that the Pages also saves a copy in the Pages folder.  So I find myself with two copies of the document.  The same thing happens with Numbers and Keynote.

Is there a way to save the Pages (and Numbers and Keynote) documents to an iCloud specified by the user folder without copy also end up in the related app?  THX

When you save Pages documents in iCloud drive, but not in the Pages folder, it will create an alias in the Pages folder pointing to the active page document that you saved in your folder of chemistry. These aliases will be a small vertical arrow under the icon, accompanied by text stating "in iCloud drive." You can right-click on the alias and choose the menu option Show Original.

The cure is to make your records custom inside the respective iCloud drive: Pages, Numbers and Keynote primary records. These applications have an abbreviation save default Panel. On the right of the Save As the Committee Save: field, you will see a small box with an angle down in it. Click on this button, it will expand your panel Save/Save as and a button new folder will appear on the bottom.

You select iCloud drive from the Favorites panel column Pages save and then browse the Pages main, numbers, and Keynote files. This is where you click on the button new folder, which will initially show no icons it contains until you save the document. No alias is generated. For existing records outside the above-mentioned applications, you could drag and drop the folder in the respective Pages, numbers and Keynote primary records, and then you can delete the (single) alias files.

  • Alias files no synchronization in iCloud drive

I use iCloud drive to keep all my synchronized and accessible files between my Mac and iPad.  I found that the alias files I use in the system do not appear in iCloud.com or other computers.  I use the alias feature to reduce the file size on my computer for my genealogy Articles.

Does anyone know a way around this or what I could do wrong?

    Thank you.

...? How did this the size of the file downwards? Aliases are just a pointer to the original file, to remember anyway. Even if you were able to synchronize alias through with other devices, they are meaningless, unless the file is also present there and in exactly the same directory and structure under the same username as on the first computer (which will not apply on an iPad). I don't know about the specific case of iCloud and alias but another sync service do not handle their property for this purpose, so I would not be surprised to see that they have been blocked.
