What is client group policy?

It doesn't let me access my account.  I share the pc with my partner.

Hi Calvin,

Welcome to the Microsoft community.

According to the description, you cannot share the computer with your partner that you are facing problems with Group Policy client. Am I wrong?

1 did you changes to the computer before the show?

2. do you get an error message/code?

Group Policy in part controls what users can or not do on a computer system, for example: a policy of complexity of password which prevents users to choose a password that is too simple, to allow or prevent users not identified from remote computers to connect to a network share, to block access to the Windows Task Manager or to restrict access to certain folders.

Please refer to the article for the Group Policy settings:

I have tried everything recently adjust the settings of the firewall from my window and a box appears saying that after an unidentified error, I can't access my firewall. After some research, I discovered that it was because my client group policy server does not connect and a small box appears saying that whenever I connect to my laptop. It is not effect my use of the internet at all, so I've never bothered to see what that meant until now I need to access my firewall. I tried to adjust the settings in group policy, but everything is gray and I can't change anything. I use an admin account so I don't know why I can't set the parameters. Are you connected or connected to a work network or domain? If so, this could be a policy governed by your network administrator, and you will not be able to change it.

  • Error after running system update: "the Group Policy Client service has no logon. Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service".

Original title: run windows Vista Ultimate 32 - is system update, get now

Facts: OS Vista Ultimate 32 bit

    Antivirus - Eset NOD32
ESET prompted me to leave with the latest updates window, made it regularly, menu updates box Eset Windows open.  I accept the standard updates. Computer needs to restart to complete the installation.  I accept.  Windows restarts comp, I connect, BONE implements internal whatnot.  Screen turns off, a blue screen, stop, restart cycle begins = restart - screen down - blue - boot in SafeMode etc.   Finally, I use the Vista ultimate installation disc to break the cycle.    I repair the startup procedure, then restore point 3 days for a previous backup of the system.  Now I get "The Group Policy Client service failed the logon.  Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service".
What should do? What should do?  Buy a Mac?

    Hello PatrickRatley,

Often we see odd behavior as the result of a program from loading at startup.

To solve these, we use the clean boot troubleshooting.

  • The Group Policy Client service does not have logon

"Hi we seem to have almost exactly the same problem (on portable House my wife running Windows Vista Home Premium) and accessible via a wireless connection at home)." The only difference is that she receives the message 'the Group Policy Client service has no logon' every time she enters her password, to attempt to gain access to his laptop. We are sure that his password has not changed by mistake (or one of our children!), as a message "the user name or password is incorrect" appears if the wrong password.  We can't even get to the start ORB / search bar. Any suggestions? I apologize if we are missing something simple, but we are not informed users!  Any suggestions gratefully received.  "Thank you James.

  • Cannot connect administrator account. Error - the Group Policy Client service has no logon. Access is denied

Original title - MESSAGE of ERROR

    Hello

I am runnung Windows Vista on my laptop Toshiba A200. As of a few days ago, asking that I try to open a session (I'm the admin), I get an error message saying "the Group Policy Client service does not log. Access is denied. »

I managed to get in the "back door" through my wife and did a system full scan with Norton and Spybot and neither found anything unusual. He asked me to change my user account settings, but of course, because my wife is not the admin, he won't let my do changes.

In addition, some of my software, such as Final draft, also seem to have vaporized.

    Help!

    Thanks in advance,

    Steve Hayward

    Hi stevehayward

    1. is the computer on a domain?
    2. during how long have you had this problem?

If the computer is not connected to the domain, you can start in safe mode, and then try to perform a system restore.
    Step 1
    :
In safe mode; you have access to only the drivers and base files. Check out the link to start the computer in safe mode and then check-
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Step 2:
You can perform a restore of the system to a previous point, when the issue was not present. The System Restore tool uses points of restore to return the system files and settings to an earlier point in time. You can use it to restore the operating system to a point in time where you have not experienced the problem.

Note: When you use System restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

To do this, there must be a restore point from the system in which the connection was successful.

Please refer to the below of the help links on performing a system restore.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/what-is-system-restore
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/system-restore-frequently-asked-questions

    I hope this helps.

  • Group Policy client service

Whenever I start my computer, the following message is display "Political group Customer Service failed the Logon" access denied

I can not access anything on the computer. I also tried CNTR, ALT and DEL the system don't even want to restart, it seems there is no way to access a floor to the format of the C - drive.I even try to use the recovery disk, but nothing does not read or does nothing.

    Hi fortyn,.

Thank you for writing to Microsoft answers Community Forums.

This can happen if you have lost the connection to the login server.

    Are you on a network?

If it's just a home PC, restart the computer in safe mode

    1. reboot the computer.

    2. as soon as the screen is empty for the first time, or if the BIOS post ends.

3 start recording the F8 key repeatedly. The Windows Advanced Options menu is displayed.

(If the menu does not appear, restart the computer and try again. If the keyboard has a F-Lock key, it may be necessary to press this first - AS

QUICKLY before you press the F8 key. "This will have to do it quickly before hitting the F8 key repeatedly).

    4. Select safe mode and press enter

    5. try to boot to the desktop

Check the Group Policy client service by typing services into the search bar above the start and pressing ENTER.

Navigate down the list until you find Group Policy Client. Make sure that it is set to automatic and that it is started. You can change to double clicking on it and selecting the drop down.

If the steps above fail it looks like a case of damaged user account. You may need to create another account.

I FOUND THE SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM!

The crash of your computer during updates Windows caused which!

I had this problem on my laptop since November, and it really annoyed me.  I sifted through the event log and found the model of events leading up to the issue and, probably, he did.

In short, the model is as follows: Windows updates automatically run as planned, and when restarting is launched after the updates are complete, the computer crashes (probably during the reboot sequence).  When starting, it signals that the last stop was not planned, and the question starts to happen.

I spent 2 days trying to dig a solution by Internet, without success, until I came across this page.  It says nothing about this particular problem, but it gives more information on the SVCHOST process that launches many services, including Group Policy Client.  It seems that when restarting vital registry settings have been lost during the accident and Group Policy Client 'do not know' how to start.  Let me explain:

There are two places to look in the registry:

    1. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services this path must contain gpsvc key (a record), which is responsible for the configuration and service settings.  I found the key was intact, so you do not touch anything here - just check that the key exists.
    2. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows svchost It's the most important way you should look at in, because it should contain keys and values under the #1 key.  Here are descriptions of what must be present there.
    • There must be called GPSvcGroupmulti-string value. My laptop was missing it.  Thus, you must create the multi-string value called GPSvcGroup and assign it the value GPSvc.
    • Then, you must create a key (a folder) and name it GPSvcGroup - this key should normally be there, but, again, that it was missin on my laptop.
    • Open the newly created GPSvcGroup folder, then create 2 DWORD values:
    1. First called AuthenticationCapabilities and you must give it a value of 0 x 00003020 (or in decimal form 12320)
    2. Second, called CoInitializeSecurityParam , and it must have the value 1.

When you have finished all the above steps, restart the computer, and the problem will be solved.

I'm so relieved that I could remedy and hope this will help others with the same question.

  • Windows 8 Group Policy client service, has no sign in

    Hello

I am running Windows 8 Professional, and over the past two days have experienced random errors, try to connect.
First of all, when I log on as a standard user, I get the message ' customer service group policy has no sign in "and cannot connect.  If I try to log in as administrator I can connect but Windows recreates the profile from scratch and when I get to the menu start I have no apps posted and it cannot find all the programs through research.  This problem has happened twice now, and it seems to settle temporarily after the reboot, but this morning, it took 4 reboots to fix.
I also have the error "Windows could not connect to the system event notification service", and once again, it seems setting after restarting a few.
I scanned my SDD on which the operating system is installed and there is no error reported.
I am worried that during the next reboot the problem will come back and will not be repaired.  Can you please tell me how to resolve this.
    Kind regards
    Matthew

OK, guys, I already posted solution in other threads, and it's for Windows 7. But it seems that it's exactly the same problem and a very widespread--caused by accident during the restart initiated by Windows Update.  I'm to re-post here.  If anyone can test it on Windows 8 would be great.  If you need my help let me know - I'm really very interested to test it on Windows 8.
