  I get "new updates available" icon in my toolbar, I install the update, but when I restart my computer the next day it's back. Check the update history and it shows that it has been installed successfully. It passed since the 16/05/2009 my computer does not show any major symptoms except sometimes slow downs (nothing serious or constant) I tried to delete the msxml4.dll file, but it is said that the action can not be performed. I also see the msxm4r.dll file and wonder if it is also a cause for concern.

  If you get a different error while you should start a new thread with your system information and the wire that you get.

  3.	At the command prompt, type exit and press ENTER.
  4.	Visit the Microsoft Web site at the following address: http://www.update.Microsoft.com
  5.	Download and install the latest MSXML security update.

• Anyway it is official that I can improve my Microsoft Core XML Services (MSXML) 6.0 to SP3 on Windows XP?

  I am working on a project in VB6 on XP and you want to use the component XMLHTTP60 in msxml6.dll,

  with MSXML6 Sp 2 (it comes with Windows XP), the component has a limitation that sends the http request must be smaller than 2048 characters, but in Sp3 (which seems to have happened with Windows 7, my win7 has it), limit has disappeared.  We want to improve that msxml to sp3, and the Microsoft Website is not the official update, the last update, I can find is SP2.

  I can copy the files from win7 to XP, for sure, but we need to use it much, I don't want something dangerous.

  Microsoft Core XML Services (MSXML) 6.0 Service Pack 3 is not available for Windows XP.

  If you have not installed Windows XP Service Pack 3, you might consider to install and check the difference.

  I was on this site throughout the morning looking for a solution to this issue.  I have a laptop running windows, op system 7 (do not know if it is 32 or 64 bit).  It came with software anti-virus free trial pre-installed on it (Norton).  This morning, I noticed that the update history showed a lot of failed attempts to install this update.  I clicked for more details on this topic, and this is the error message I get, "" WindowsUpdate_0000064C""WindowsUpdate_dt000".  Looks like a lot of people have problems with this.

  I tried the fixes of a message on this forum (see below):

  I tried to use the MS TOOL of DIFFICULTY, which has not helped in the installation of the update successfully

  I then downloaded KB954430 and saved on my hard drive and run it in safe mode, only to have and the following error message will appear, "ERROR OPENING INSTALLATION LOGFILE VERIFY THE SPECIFIC LOG FILE LOCATION EXISTS AND IS writable."

  What I am doing wrong?
