  Unlike compatibility processor only in motherboards, it's that there are motherboards for dual core and Quad Core boards. If you have a Quad Core, you can install any other Quad Core. These mobile Intel Core i7 1 genQuads always tends to be expensive and I don't know how much delivery must be done by replacing one such Quad Core for another. The base clock speed increase would be only 1.6 to 1.86 ghz, which is not terribly important. On eBay the i7-840QM is still ongoing for over $ $100 and for that price you approach the cost of a 500 GB SSD, which would provide a lot more help to your user experience.

  If you want to risk this update check the specifications of the other portable Satellite M30. If you can find one with faster CPU, maybe it will work also on your laptop.

  After a discussion on another forum, that it has been suggested that I have updated the BIOS because it can allow the processor to manage memory 1600 mhz, but I don't know where to start on this or what version to selected download. I'd appreciate any help you can offer on this.

  The other way, that I can see is to update the processor itself. I thought of nothing too fancy just an i5 because it will allow me to run 3d blurays and should allow me to run some apps at the same time.   This is the second time that I post this question, now with more information. I ran the HP Hardware Diagnostic and Test "Multicore" informed me that "only two of the four cores are enabled. How to activate the other two hearts? When I search the computer for the amount of available cores, it is said that two nuclei, yet all other research say that there are four cores of the processor. When checking with the Manager tasks two cores work. The processor is the AMD Athlon II X 4 630 processor. I checked in msconfig and still only 2 cores are available. Here, any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Device Manager displays both physical and logical processors.

  Download CPU - Z to verify that you have actually 4 cores and 4 wires. The default CPU tab shows the number of hearts and son down.  This tools will flush out the inaccuracies with Windows may report errors.  This tool should "dispel" you.
