  • What is the best way to move the data from the app and Server data structures?

    Hi guys,.

I developed my application locally with Apex 4.2 and Oracle 11 g XE on Windows 7. Not far away, it is time to move the application to a server Oracle Apex. I guess that Exim is the way to go app. But what about the APA tables and data (tables/as 'customer' and 'account' created specially for the application)? I've been using a modeling tool, so I can run a DDL script to create the database server data structures. What is the best way to move the application data on the server? Is it possible to move the structures and data in a single process?

    Thank you
    Kim

There is probably another way to get here, but in Developer SQL, on the navigation tree, expand objects until your table, right-click, and then click EXPORT... you will see all the options. It is a tedious process and it sucks IMO, but yes, it works. This is zero especially because 1) it's a table at a time, 2) If your data model is robust and has constraints and sequences and triggers, then you will need to disable all for the insert and we hope you can re-enable constraints, etc. without hitch (good luck, unless you have only a handful of tables)

I prefer to use the oracle EXP command-line to export an entire schema, then the server target, I use IMP to import the schema. In this way, it is almost true. This makes the dirty life if you develop multiple applications in a single schema, and I felt pain - however - it is much easier to drop the tables and other objects is to create them! (thus, even if the process of EXP/IMP moved more than you wanted to "move".. blow everything you don't want on the target after the fact...)

You can use method datapump oracle too.

If not, what can be done, IF you have access to both servers of your instance of SQL developer (or if you can tnsping both already from the command line, you can use SQL * MORE), is to run a script that will identify the objects of your applications apex (usually by the prefix for the names of objects, such as % EBA_PROJ_ etc.) and do all the manual work for you. I've created a script that does just that so that I can pass data from dev to prod servers on a dblink. It is difficult because of the order that must be executed to disable constraints and then turn it back on and of course, more complicated if don't always precede you ALL your "objects demand '... (tables, views, triggers, sequences, functions, procs, indexes, etc.)

  • What is the best way to move another server Vcenter Server?

    Hello

We have 3 nodes VMWARE running with VSpere 4.0.0 and a Vcenter Server 4.0.0. The server running the server Vcenter on disorders gives and must be replaced. What is the best way to move the VCenter server on the new server and keep all the settings?

And is it possible to update at the same time to VCenter Server 4.0.1?

    Thank you

    Marcel

There is no problem, I also think that it is the best way if you do not have a large environment - usually takes less time :-). Remove first the hosts of the other vcenter - this will make the vcenter agent to be uninstalled from the ESXs.

  • What is the best way to move around in a document?

Maybe I'm missing something obvious here, but what is the best way to move around in a document zoomed in?

The only method I have found so far is to slide with two fingers, which maintains the resizing of the document when it moves.

No hand tool? No way to zoom to 100%? No way to fill the screen with the document?

    Let me know, thanks.

    Hello

Panning is done with two fingers, that is you put two fingers on the screen, then move in the same direction.

You can also zoom by moving the fingers in the opposite direction, as when you zoom in.

    Thank you

  • What is the best way to move and organize records

I recently bought a Mac Pro and have bought files across the FRO my windows laptop but what is the best way to organize the files iCloud or local drive and how do I move files in my list of "all files" in individual cases.

In case you are not aware, all the files that you put in iCloud drive are on your disk local and iCloud.

You can go to preferences in the Finder menu and specify whether you want iCloud drive to display in the sidebar of the Finder. I find that having it in the sidebar makes it easy to use. I also have other folders I used frequently in the sidebar; You can add the system ones (Documents, downloads, etc.) using this same preferences window. You can add folders that you created them by dragging to the sidebar of a Finder window.

A way to move files into folders that you created is to open 2 windows in the Finder and drag it from one window to the other. Another option, if you move a file in one of the folders that is displayed in the sidebar is just do it from its current location in the main area of the Finder to the folder window in the sidebar in this same window of Finder.

  • What is the best way to migrate from forms to ADF?

We are in a big mess. Our company has been developing Oracle Forms for more than 15 years. We have applications developed in Forms 6i and 10 g. We have about 5 products and these 5 products have different versions of 25 to 30. that is, we maintain about 30 different versions of our applications. Each version of the application has about 100 forms and 100 States.

Now, given that the forms came at the end of life of 11 g we want to pass to the ADF. We tried forms of ADF migration tools but failed. So now, we decided to manually to rewrite applications in the ADF.

Our forms / PL/SQL developers, designers and analysts (about 40 in total) are all people of Oracle Forms. They have no experience in Java.

What I want to know is:
    (1) what is the BEST way to do this?
    (2) need to learn Java, JSF, and ADF? (i.e. every 3)?
    (3) it is mandatory to learn JSF?
    (4) assuming that may benefit from a full training, how much time will it take for people of forms learn the ADF?
    (5) what kind of training will be necessary? (Java, JSF, ADF and JDeveloper etc..)
    (6) how LONG will take? that is to train all 40, then to rewrite an application forms 100 + 100 + reports? (Ballpark is OK).
    (7) any other technology we should learn?

    Published by: user12240205 on July 18, 2012 05:48

Obvoiusly liked you training the better, but I think the minimum would

    (1) Java skills - I think to start, 1 or two days read some thing like head first Java http://www.amazon.com/Head-First-Java-Kathy-Sierra/dp/0596009208
    (2) I would then get the http://www.amazon.com/Quick-Start-Oracle-Fusion-Development/dp/0071744282/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1343201618&sr=1-1&keywords=jdeveloper+quick of "The Quick Start Guide to Fusion Development" (declaration: I am the author so have an interest, but I still think it's a good point of departure - this should be about 2-3 days to read and also to try things.)
    (3) in parallel I would observe these http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/adfinsider-093342.html#a1 ADF Insider Basics - a few hours
    (4) I'd so try this tutorial http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/jdev/obe11jdev/ps1/ria_application/developriaapplication_long.htm - 3 hours.
    (5) if necessary, if you come from a background of forms I would also read http://download.oracle.com/otn_hosted_doc/jdeveloper/11gdemos/SummitADF/SummitADF_Redevelopment.pdf and watch http://download.oracle.com/otn_hosted_doc/jdeveloper/11gdemos/Forms_Redevelopment_ADF/Forms_Redevelopment_ADF.html - which is about 2 hours of work.

I think it would be the absolute MINIMUM at least be able to build basic applications and begin to feel your way all also described in the http://download.oracle.com/otn_hosted_doc/jdeveloper/11gdemos/ADFTour/ADFTour.html 'ADF COLLATERAL TOUR' could be shot as you start to build a proof of concept. However, I would say don't you try to build a real application with a single exposure of weeks (in the same way, I don't expect you to design a database of product with the formation of a week only). I would probably expect your developers to have at least the above training, then spend a month or so evidence of (minimum) building of the concepts (or test themselves with the ADF Insider Essentials tasks). In addition, I would probably expect to have at least a senior developer/architect, with much more experience that may be decisions on things like reuse, partitioning, architecture, etc..

Of course, it's all subjective, but I hope it helps.

    PS
Of course, we also have lectures for university training Oracle which you could attend (or they can be bought to watch online).

  • What is the best method to move from an iPhoto from one Mac to another library?

What is the I best method for export/transfer my iPhoto on MBP to the iPhoto library library on my iMac? I prefer to keep my metadata intact; I guess that to do a package contents 'show' of my iPhoto and AirDropping the 'masters' library, I won't lose it? I'm under El Capitan 10.11.4 on Mac.

I just want to explain my situation because maybe I'm missing something. I have SUMMER will use the photo library iCloud for synchronization on all my Apple devices and as a backup off-site. Fortunately, I realized soon as enough it would become a management NIGHTMARE. I downloaded everything from iCloud to my MBP and want to get it all on my iMac, so I can clean up the mess of duplicates and others.

I couldn't synchronize with realism of the iCloud photo library to my iMac because I would have had to download about 150 + GB of data, so that I can download the 30 or GBs who were on my families iOS devices iCloud and the MBP. ICloud photo library interface is NOT well designed or easy to use - download directly from the cloud is heavy at best.

    All tips are appreciated, thanks.

Simply connect the two Macs together and drag the library in the pictures of the new mac folder - or use an external hard drive to the Mac OS extended (journaled) format and drag through - then launch iPhoto on the new system

Move the masters moves original photos and metadata exactly as they were imported without organization

And iCloud library isn't an option for iPhoto - it requires OS X 10.10.1 and photos 1 or later version

  • What is the best way to stream from one Panel to the next?

I am writing a LabVIEW application that uses two monitors of different sizes on the same computer. I have to listen to four data channels of 100 Hz for a main VI to its front panel as a second front on another monitor.

    My options:

    1. the easiest way would be to call the second front panel as a Subvi, but I'm not like that because as a Subvi the user did not click the buttons or have any input.

2 another way would be to use a queue of LabVIEW for transmitting data of the main VI to the Subvi; in this way the two panels could have their own loop of the user interface.

    3. is there a better way?

It depends on your data, but I recommend the queues or user events to send your data on another the VI.

  • What is the best way to move the node for virtual device to an IDE SCSI hard drive?

    I used PowerCLI on vSphere 5.0 5.5.

I'm deploying VMDK that were created with a switch in Ghost from Symantec, which by default is the HDD to IDE interface.  How can I change the HD of IDE, SCSI using PowerCLI?

We also seek to regenerate the VMDK with the correct setting in Ghost, but maybe it's not feasible.

I looked at the post below, which seems close, but don't tell me how to change the Type as the disk ID number.

Sort of put the virtual device node / drive SCSI ID?

When I look at the vmdk on the host for the virtual machine, I can see that the ddb.adapterType field is set to "ide" and KB 1016192 - conversion of an IDE virtual disk to a virtual SCSI disk

    http://KB.VMware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1016192

I need to have the value of "free", but I can't manually change the vmdk file.

In addition, the hard drive has the VM operating system already installed on it, so I don't want to just remove it.

Another related problem is that I can not put the type of SCSi LSI Logic SAS controller LSI Logic parallel (Windows VMs does not start if it has the value LSI Logic SAS). I just get an error "inconsistent backup specified for device 0.

    Appreciate any ideas.

I thought that I would come back and update this post.  I got it works by changing a setting when I create the VMDK.

I changed the way I created the VMDK via the Symantec ghost32.exe (version 11.5?) application by adding the following switch:

    -vmdkAdapter = free

    Ghost32-clone, mode = restoration, src = 'SRC %', dst = "% DEST" - vmdkAdapter free course =

It worked for my Windows 2008 VMDK, don't know what he'll do for any other type.

At the end of the day, I have never able to edit the VMX of PowerCLI file, although I got close enough.

Regarding PowerCLI, I think I have corrupted files on the ESXi server and could never get around it. The steps were roughly as follows

    1. the Copy-DatastoreItem cmdlet to copy the file vm.vmx on the desktop of the local computer

    "2 use Get-Content to read file and change ddb.adapterType ="ide"with ddb.adapterType. =" free ".

    3. copy a ConvertTo-LinuxLineEnding cmdlet from the internet and remove CR/LF characters to the BYTE level; because nothing else has worked.  I still don't think it worked 100%.

4 copy-DatastoreItem to copy the vmx file to the directory of the virtual machine.

The vmx file has the correct setting and looks ok, but I think something is broken here, because when I use the VI Client to look at the data store, there are only 2 files in the directory. I don't know which more.

    5 remove-hard drive

6 New-hard drive - vm $vmObj - diskpath "[datastoreName] vm/vm.vmdk", at this point, I get "the path of the specified disc is inaccessible or does not exist.  It is probably because I have damaged the structure of files on the data store.

When I delete the virtual computer in the VI Client, I can remove it with success, but I have to manually delete the directory on the data store using skip
    Control data store.

  • What is the best way to move with esx3.5 vmtools key/value pairs?

    Hello

I found both candidates to store the key/value pairs for a vmware client. My ultimate goal is to run a process on the VC box that updates these data, and then read through the software tools of vm on the host (somehow) were invited.

The first method is through 'guestinfo' settings which can be adjusted in four ways:

Add the variable of the vmx fileprompt.
    Set the variable manually on the client (using vmwareservice.exe - cmd "infoset");
    using vmware-cmd (vmware-cmd & lt; vm-cfg-path & gt; setguestinfo & lt; variable & gt; & lt; value & gt;)
the use of vmcom.dll COM objects (seems to be deprecated in ESX 3.5)
These variables are easily accessible on the client by running vmwareservice.exe - cmd 'info-get guestinfo.variablename '. However, I cannot find a convenient way (better based on powershell) of their definition of a scheduled task or service to VC area.

The second method is the customfields of guests in VItoolkit property, which can be defined as follows:

    get - vm MyVMName | Game-CustomField-nameOfValue name-value DataToBeStored
Unfortunately, I am unable to access these data in the comments, and indeed I do not know if this is possible. If this isn't the case, I guess my only recourse would be to write a tool to connect to Web services on the VC box with a low privilege account. I prefer not to do this because it means the network infrastructure implementation to point the guest to the right VC, development of custom etc permissions...

    So, my questions are:

    • Is it possible to define variables of guestinfo through VI Toolbox, running on the virtual circuit?

    • Is it possible to read customfields on the client, through the vmtools?

    • Or is there another method to make this key/value data exchange?

You can add/edit entries in the VMX file like this

    $vm = get-vm | Get-View

    $vmConfigSpec = New-Object VMware.Vim.VirtualMachineConfigSpec
    $vmConfigSpec.extraconfig += New-Object VMware.Vim.optionvalue
    $vmConfigSpec.extraconfig[0].Key= "guestinfo"
    $vmConfigSpec.extraconfig[0].Value = "whatever"

    $vm.ReconfigVM($vmConfigSpec)

  • What is the best way to move a LR2 catalog without moving images?

I have several catalogs on different drives and I now have a drive much more and have decided I want to keep all my catalogs on a disc under a folder called lightroom catellogs.

Can I just move my .lrcat file (s) and associated to an extract or folders to the new location and wait for LR2 works fine when I open the newly moved .lrcat file?  Or are there hidden files or paths coded hard directory inside the .lrcat which could cause problems if I did?

    Mike,

I moved the catalog files several times without problem.  I suggest you copy the catalog folder and all its contents to the new drive, without deleting the original. Make sure that Lightroom is not running when you do this.  Then open Lightroom all holding the key OPTION, and you will be presented with a pop-up allowing you to select the catalog file in the new location.  Once you select it, Lightroom should work as before.

So go ahead and delete the previous Catalogue record.

    HI -.

As a prelude to 2014.0, we have added a feature allowing you to choose what number to start the increment of.  Look in the section ingest Rename dialog and change your preset. When you click the button, you should see the option "Custom Auto Increment". This will allow you to choose what number to start on.  We've also added a few newspapers to try to remember where let prelude last successfully interfere the operation by using this option. So, in theory, to remember the number for you. But if it isn't (maybe you want multiple kickoff ingested at the same time) you can always manually set the number to start with.

Check that out and let me know how it works for you.

    Kind regards
