  Ah, I got it. Existing files are checked as indicated cmholden. If the image is not stored locally, we use URLStream to load the image file on the web. We can then save the file directly via the ByteArray to the URLStream and then use our code existing loader to load the ByteArray even as a DisplayObject. I was worried there would be some downturn app to save the files, but the change in performance is negligible and of course once the images are saved on the device they charge a lot more quickly the next time the application is run!

  Transfers on the network are not deterministic.  You ask how to use the data in a deterministic way, once it arrives on the RT system.  Usually, you would create a separate loop, not critics of time to deal with network communications.  The data arrives it is copied in real-time-safe structures such as RT-FIFO to put at the disposal of the evanescent loop.

  I can't give you specific advice on network variables and network flows; Finally, I did this kind of transfer over TCP, until these other options were available.

  2 back up the entire computer with a software that can full disks and systems backup and restoration of complete systems. COPY OF FILES WILL DO THIS. This will help if your hard drive goes down, but it will be useless if you buy a new computer.

I have currently the library full of Adobe applications, and I noticed that I don't use the majority of the applications outside of these two.   Physically, you can't add content in a swf file that you go back and find what you have created still exists.  You need to store information related to these new content in external storage (cookie, database, xml file, etc.) and then use that information to reconstruct this content when you reopen the file.

  To move e-mail messages, the cleaner is to use the IMAP protocol. Then your new client look just the same files you had in Pegasus.

  Unfortunately, email clients tend to use their own systems of storage of e-mail owner and there is no commonly used standards that could help to transfer between clients. If you can export files in mbox format, then Thunderbird can use.

  There are so many variables in estimating costs and savings. To start, you need the power cost per kilowatt, which varies across the country and the time of day. For another, you will need to measure the power consumption on a handful of "typical" computers in a few typical days of use. It depends on what type of processor and what type of hard drive you have, what kind of printer you have, and how they are used. It varies even with use being the most busy the computer, the more energy it uses. If a computer is mainly used for processing, it will not use as much as one who is constantly making queries against a database of large size. That is why the only way to get an estimate of good savings / is to measure a handful of typical systems for awhile and then extrapolate. There are devices that will make these measures, you need technical expertise to determine what is 'typical' but I'm sure you've heard the term "garbage in, garbage out!"

  Some power companies offer to make estimates of how/where you can save. You can check with them. They might have a few general ground rules of their experience. You can check with your Board of Directors to see if any of them have experience in this field. You can also check with the vendor of your computer. Companies like IBM, Dell, HP and others might be able to help. IBM made a lot of advice and support to businesses, so I'd be willing to bet they would have suggestions. They could even contract to conduct a study and come up with estimates.
