What is the difference between DV and HDV formats

First pro lets you choose between HDV and DV before starting a project.

Hi Isaiah:

These are the two digital tape formats that Premiere Pro supports directly.

If your workflow is tapeless, you can ignore it.

If your workflow includes tape DV or HDV tape, you can choose the one that corresponds to the format that you use. However, you can change at any time according to the needs.

DV is a standard definition tape format (480i60 if shooting NTSC) and HDV is a tape format HD (1080i60 is common, but the other parameters are supported).  Each can be recorded on a tape MiniDV cassette.
