What is the password for the virtual machine to Virtual Labs

Once I go to the following link:

https://CMG.vlabcenter.com/lab/9187d4c6-f587-480D-9fb8-954dfed0c360
I then go to start practical work:

After two minutes, another site arrives. This is the virtual office.
There is a logon screen
The user logon name is *.
The password is given in the margins does not correspond to the *.
The opening of session is supposed to be for * / *.
and the password for this user name is *.
I have a problem with the window but not sure.
Can you help me?

  • What is the virtual machine backdoor?

I fell on what we call a back door virtual machine by reading the following blog post: http://virtualfoundry.blogspot.com/2009/04/protect-console-virtual-firewall.html

    He says the following:

While you're there, go ahead and disable the virtual computer is backdoor by adding this directive:

    monitor_control.restrict_backdoor = 'true '.

What is this backdoor? Should I add this command to all my virtual machines?

    Thank you

The backdoor is a channel of communication between the client and the hypervisor.  It allows guests to enjoy the hypercalls on the hypervisor.   Despite the scary name, it is not a security issue in and of itself, although there is always the possibility a hypercall implementations allows a kind of safety operating.  The backdoor of VMware is implemented as an operation of e/s to a specific port address.  The games instructions VT - x and AMD - V also provides a hypercall mechanism, but we still use the inheritance mechanism, because it is supported by all of our hypervisors, regardless of the underlying implementation.

The 'monitor_control.restrict_backdoor' configuration option does not disable the door entirely.  As its name suggests, it restricts the use of the backdoor.  In particular, they only allow the guest to use the backdoor when the IOPL prompt > = his CPL.  In general, this means that the client must be running code monitoring, such as the core OS guest, clocked at CPL 0.  (There are some notable exceptions, such as Linux X server, which takes place in CPL 3 with 3 IOPL.)

When you run a nested VMs, the backdoor should be limited in the external virtual machine if you want to be able to make the inner virtual machine to the hypervisor inner hypercalls.  Otherwise, hypercalls made the inner virtual machine will be provided by the external hypervisor.  If you don't care to install VMware Tools in the virtual machine internal, you don't have to restrict the backdoor into the external virtual machine.

  • password for vSphere virtual Appliance 6.0?

    Hello

I want to install vSphere 6.0 and I would use the appliance virtual vSphere.

    I have deployed ""VCHG_Appliance_SLES11 - 6.0.0.0 - 2564774_OVF10.ova ' in a segment of a network that has no DHCP "

(During the deployment of the EGGS, I'm not prompted to create a password)

When starting the machine, he gets no (no DHCP) IP address and he invites me to connect manually configure the network

PROBLEM: what is the default password for the appliance 6.0.

    I tried the following:

-user name: root, admin, administrator, vmware
    -pw: the default admin

    tips are greatly appreciated,

    Chris

You have deployed the wrong package, since VCHG is not the vCenter Server Appliance, but the evolution of the management of Multi-hypervisor (MHM). To deploy vCSA, you must download the following package: VMware-VCSA-all - 6.0.0 - 2656757.iso

  • Change password for Network Time Machine

    Hello.

I used a time Machine to backup since 2010.  Recently, I changed the home network password Wifii.  The time Machine is more access to the network, and I do not know how to change its parameters, so it can re - connect on the same network.  When you open AirPort Utility, I can't click on the time Machine, it says "Device not found" and only offers me the option "Forget this device".  I must forget this device to start the process?

I work on a MacBook Pro, OS 10.11.6 (El Capitan).

    Would appreciate your help.

    Tim

Your best bet would be to connect a computer with AirPort Utility is installed via a cable ethernet to the time Capsule. This allows to connect back to the time Capsule to update your new password Wi - Fi settings.

  • How does Ready Boost Option work... I know how to activate or deactivate it... but I want to know wat to what makes the faster machine?

I have win7 hav, double heart 2 (2.6 GHz), 2 GB of ram, 80 GB hard drive...

ReadyBoost uses Flash Player as a cache for random reads from the hard disk. Written on the hard drive is copied to the Flash drive. When random play is issued, the flash instead of the hard disk drive data will be read.  As there is no mechanical movement, it will be faster.

As you have 2 GB of RAM, which will be also used for the disk cache, I don't expect to see much difference.

This article explains how this works in Vista; the principle is the same in Windows 7 with the 4 GB, a limitation of the device thrown

  • What is the best way to convert LAB to RGB

We tried the method EasyRGB and Bruce Lindenbloom, and none are perfect enough. One shifts the color red, giving it a pink hue - the other is green shifted sometimes.

Konica Minolta seems to have the conversion better but they (SpectraMagic NX) proprietary software, and I don't know how they do it.

    Are there any alternatives?

I don't see your point. It is a simple matter of using profiles on the right on the measuring devices. No different from any appliance-based color space conversion.

  • See Virtual Machine role cannot accommodate the virtual machine is on. Help please.

Hi all. I'm trying a re-branded minimum permissions to a group for some virtual machines. The role of Virtal Machine user seems to be a perfect fit. The only problem I have is that the user can't see what host the virtual computer is on. If they are in the VMware Infrastructure Client and click on the Summary tab, it is empty. The reason why I want to see them is if they need to use a CD-ROM to install an application in that they need to know what a host to the CD. Can someone tell me which box to check if I go and change the role? Is there a better way to do it?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Welcome to the Forums!

If they have access to the virtual Center and the access flag to the virtual machine itself, why not just mount the .iso/CD on the computer virtual in question then disconnect when you are finished.  Having to put a CD in an ESX host, every time something must be installed not the ideal way

  • Oracle installed on the virtual machine

    Hello world!

In one of the server, Oracle is installed on a virtual machine.

I have to make a change in the way I set up the file settings or something else to improve performance?

What a difference, is to have the Oracle in the area directly compared to what in the virtual machine?

    Hope to hear some tips.

    Thank you. :)

There is no difference running Oracle in a virtualized environment or on a box. For the performance gain, the same number of steps are necessary as normally are required. Read the guide to performance optimization of Oracle doc site corresponding to your version of db http://tahiti.oracle.com.

  • I couldn't put a password for my laptop

    Hi all

I tried to put a password for my laptop but I can't, he says that I have to take something away from UBS even I don't have nothing put on

do you know if I can solve this problem?

    Hi romio,.

Please specify. To set a password for your Win8 machine, under the "user account" in Control Panel you will need to click on 'Make changes to my account in the computer setting' and from there, you will be able to set a password for your laptop under the sign "in the options.

'Create a password reset disk' for you the machine is a fail safe for you in case you have forgotten the password of your machine. In this case, it will take a recovery password and this will require a USB flash drive to create the recovery.

    I hope this helps.

There is absolutely no such thing as a 'IO profile' typical of a VMware VM. Always, forever everyday, depends on.

A hypervisor sits between the OS and the Application and the storage Bay are not because the needs of profile and e/s storage are suddenly turned upside down or scrambled at random in all directions.

An inactive VM does not generate any more or different IOPS / s only idle physical server. A busy database VM behaves different than a physical server with the same database/application in terms of IOPS profile / s and e/s either.

  • WAIT % - % IDLE, what is the average for a virtual machine?

I did some research on performance of VM problems and worked with the media to see that there is maybe a bottle neck IO that occur with a virtual VMware machine I have performance problems on. The technician found that the WAITING % - % IDLE on average for this virtual machine is around 200%. The tech said it was abnormally high. I forgot to ask her what was normal but wanted to put a post to see if some people out there know what they are on average. What is an average number of see? I have the system done nothing right now and I see 579% waiting and 372% IDLE. The technology has been able to confirm that no IO queue was occurring in the VMkernel or on the HBA controller.

Some average % positions would be useful. Thank you.

    gdewulf18480 wrote:

Supposibly the amount of time in a State of waiting for I/O is the WAIT - IDLE % difference. I was wondering if anyone had the numbers for this feeling. Is there anyone with some of them?

Q: How will I know the VCPU world waiting for I/O events?

A: WAIT - % IDLE % can give you an estimate on how much time processor is spent waiting for I/O events. It is an estimate only, because the world wait perhaps for other than the i/o resources. Note that we should do it only for the worlds of the WWW, not the other kind of worlds. Because the VMM worlds represent the best guest behavior. For the disk i/o, another alternative is to read the disk latency stats that we explain in the drive section.

WAIT % by itself cannot be used, you must develop and examine the individual vCPU % EXPECTATION values and subtract their idle time.  You can't do it on the initial view of a single line by VM CPU in esxtop.  If technology that you mentioned did not explain it, he doesn't know what it takes.

I have lots of virtual machines that are never less than 300% when I wait - % idle and I have no problems.

It is an example, I caught NimSoft server:

    DHSNMS1 100 100 5 192.63 193,80 0.24 0.03 291,44 1.04

%EST USED (s) 192 - in other words, almost two processors are used 100%

The %Idle is 1.04% WAIT 291.44 - according to the calculation of waiting idle, I have a super serious problems of e/s past  But this isn't the case, and expanding, I can see that.

    5665 vmware-vmx 100 1 0.09 0.11 100.00 0.00 0.00 0.01

    5667 100 vmassistant.566 1 0.62 0.65 99,63 0.00 0.00 0.00

    5703 100 mks:DHSNMS1 1 0.01 0.01-100.00 0.00 0.00 0.00

    5704 vcpu 100 - 0:DHSNMS1 1 32,35 32.88 67,28 0.28 0.11 67,14

    5705 vcpu 100 - 1:DHSNMS1 1 31,58 32.05 68.11 0.00 67.85 0.12

So the changed values unfortunately because of ESXTOP bike when you develop... which is annoying, but anyway.  In this you see % waiting is 67 and 68 with another respectively being 3 to 100% (which is normal) and the idle being %, 0, 0, 0, 67 and 67.8.  Doing the calculation on the processors shows a wait - slowed virtually 0 - or very little IO wait past with processors.  But if you add up all the expectations of % and % is idling, you have 434ish, and the 134ish and do the calculation is the difference of 300 - which is the 3 who are always 100%.

So there is no way we can answer your question, we can only help you to understand how the values should be interpreted.

Waiting for i/o States almost always go on the disc anyway, it is unlikely, therefore, the network or the user entered, looking at the stats of disc ESXTOP is a much better way to determine if there is a problem of e/s.

  • What is the type of object to use for virtual machine model in the Points of Extension?

    Hello

I added my plugin point of extension vsphere.core. ${objectType} .monitorViews. My plugin is for all types of objects (vm, file, vApp, resourcePool, etc) except the model of the virtual machine. My understanding is that the vm object type would be required for the virtual machine template, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Am I missing something here? Should the plugin appear for the model of the virtual machine when I use the vsphere.core.vm.monitorViews extension point?

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards

    Ashutosh

Sorry, I got confused by your original question. ExtensionPoint id you are looking for is the one for adding views a model virtual machine monitor tab:

    model.monitorViews vSphere.Core.

  • root password back on empty and disappear the virtual machines

We arrived after the weekend and our virtual machine wasn't so I tried to log in the infrastructure client and the password did not work.  We tried to leave the empty password and it connected with root.  Then we saw that our virtual machine did not appear in the inventory list.  The data store still exists on the computer with the files that it contains.  That's happened?  How can I get it back?

    Welcome to communities

I couldn't tell you what happened. There has been cases with a new installation where the configuration is not saved but be?

If you are looking for your virtual machine, the data store and do a right-click on the VMX file and select Add to inventory, you will get your machines virtual return.
