What is the plugin - container.exe?

The extension plugin - container.exe desired access to the internet. The file was located in my Mozzile folder, but I read somewhere that it is malware. This file is supposed to be there, and it is normal to try to receive a connection? Is it safe?

Click on the following link, click on "what's new in Firefox 3.6.4. The first 2 paragraphs is a brief explanation of this plugin - container.exe is designed to do. Currently, Windows and Linux only, it isolates Adobe Flash, Apple Quicktime or Microsoft Silverlight plugins of the main browser, so that if one of those accidents of plug-ins, your browser not everything breaks down. This was done because of the large number of accidents caused by plug-ins. Plans are to add more plug-ins in subsequent updates to Firefox.

  • Why plugin - container.exe crash so often during the closing of PDF files?

When I load multiple PDF files in Firefox to check their content for the errors one by one, closing a tab PDF to reveal another tab PDF very often causes plugin - container.exe planting, which means I have to reload each tab PDF remaining to display the remaining files. This of course defeated the purpose to open more than one at the time and adds about 5 times because the number of clicks to the whole process because I erase the mistake and reload each page, then it might happen again or not. It produced whenever I close a PDF file, but about 1/4 times.

I have the same problem with Firefox 3.6.6 except that it also consumes massive amounts of CPU during the race. This version also adds a new process on your system. I am running XP and in the beginning I tried to disable some plug-ins. Always consumed too much memory. I went back to version 3.6 and the new process went, and the CPU consumption is way down. Something is wrong with the latest version of Firefox, I never saw behave this way. Revert to a previous version (Filehippo) and you will see the difference.

  • Stop or disable "plugin - container.exe".

I am running XP on a laptop that originally had Vista which didn't work too well and 26.0 Firefox, update. I have "Add-ons" Adblock Plus 2.4.1 Advanced System Care 1.0 and NoScript 2.6.8.12

Since the update to 26.0 that damnable "plugin-container.exe" was slowing down my surfing the web and I'm constantly ending the process in Task Manager. I want to disable or remove it completely with instructions easy to read - not some of the 5-page "mumbo-jumbo" I read other "solutions". It has slowed me down and irritated me the point back to I-E.

He has to go or I go.

Hi RadRon, as its name suggests, plugin - container.exe is used to run plugins. It was created at the time of Firefox 3.6.4 to isolate the firefox.exe plugins because they were responsible for a large percentage of crashes of Firefox. Placing them in the plugin - container.exe prevened misbehaved plugins to take down the entire session in Firefox (at least, in theory it should do).

So going back to your question of what might have caused your previous problems with plugin - container.exe, it was probably a problem with the relevant plugin, and most likely guilty is Flash. But given that the error has disappeared, it is difficult to speculate on the confluence of circumstances that could have been responsible, or fixed what other solution could help.

  • Is there a version of Firefox always available that has no plugin - container.exe included?

He is currently has slowed because the plugin - container.exe consumes anywhere from 25% to 50% of my memory. If I use the task Mgr to close this task, things are going much better. Y at - it a downloadable version of Firefox that includes no plugin - container.exe, and if so, can I replace my current version with this one?

You can disable the plugin-container process.

  • What are the preferences of ff-related plugin - container.exe in its new version of ff? Specifically, I would like to change them all: config to disable plugin - container.exe

I did it with a previous version of ff by changing the values of these preferences: dom.ipc.plugins.enabled to true

    DOM. Fake IPC.plugins.Enabled.npctrl.dll

    DOM. Fake IPC.plugins.Enabled.npqtplugin.dll

    DOM. Fake IPC.plugins.Enabled.npswf32.dll

    DOM. True IPC.plugins.Enabled.nptest.dll

    dom.ipc.plugins.timeoutSecs 45

After I installed ff on my laptop today I can not find the .dll preferences. And plugin - container.exe continues to torment me. For me, that's the only problem with ff since the 7 update. It boggles me as to why you have not managed to get rid of this thing.

To disable the crash protection, go to about: config and all preferences from dom.ipc.plugins.enabled set to false. (It is possible that your browser has only this entry preferably without any additions.) This will prevent the process of "plugin-container" of race and all plugins will run within the process of Firefox. (from Disabling_crash_protection )

  • plugin - container.exe takes up and uses 100% of my CPU locking me and leaving my non-functional PC. Is it a bug or a memory, leak in the Firefox software? Can we do anything to solve this problem?

Looking at the Windows Task Manager, I found this plugin - container.exe took over 100% of my CPU and my system froze. Is this a leak memory or another bug?

plugin - container.exe is simply a third wrapper 3 plug-ins. This plug-in is loaded? The bug is with this plugin (Flash for example)

  • When the browser is closed, many "plugin - container.exe" process started

When Firefox starts, there is only a single process of "plugin - container.exe". Place at the end, many plugin - container.exe include picking up little by little memory. So closing is quite slow. Is this normal?

Which may be caused by using delete navigation, search and download history on Firefox to clear cookies. Firefox 4 try to delete cookies Flash (LSO) as well and starts the process of plugin-container to achieve this.

  • Why plugin - container.exe shows the process when I disabled all extensions and plug-ins?

Firefox has been slow, locking and become insensitive since 27.0, I now 28.0 installed, but no difference. I suspect the plugin container could cause or contribute to this. You kindly told me why it is still in progress when everything is turned off, I would like to block. In addition, how comes I can watch a YouTube video when the Flash is turned off? I have the original - this plug-in is disabled - view, and then the video begins to play?

It is possible that the HTML5 Media Player is used to play videos.

If the Flash player would be the you get the context menu Flash Player if you right click on the video player.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode without failure.

You can create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problem.

    See "create a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a profile already used in the new profile, but be careful not to copy files corrupted to avoid transporting on the problem
