What is the problem with the updates?

Vista HP, SP2, 32-bit

I have 10 updates ready to install, but when I invite them to do Windows update crashes just for hours. It becomes quite annoying because I can't turn off my PC: it starts to 'install' and just stays there.
I tried restoring the system twice and attach it to the tool. It did not work.
This is my third post on the topic, given that the other two didn't get any answer. There are several other users with similar problems, but they have no answers as well.
Any feed back is in order, because we do not ask on some free program, that we have found on the NET, but a bone, we paid for .
If the mods in this forum do not know the answer to the less direct us to where we can find one.

Jose.

During the latest two updates for Outlook, I was not having not updated again and again even after it recharges, cleanings, scans, etc.  I looked on Google KB numbers and hit the Microsoft Website to download the fix.  That did the trick, both took and when I then rechecked the windows update app magic "No important updates available" appeared - yay!

Recommend that you download the .exe of Microsoft patches and ' Run as Administrator year ' to get a patch of failing to take.

Good luck.

Please help me to get Windows Update operational return.

However, now a Windows Update does not work.  Security Center Windows were told to go to control panel > system and use the Automatic Updates tab.  But, if I go to control panel > system, the Automatic Updates tab does not appear.

In the thread above, I was following the post on 30 August.  According to Option A, I completed step 5 for the uninstallation of McAfee Security.  At this time, my network card has stopped working.  On the recommendation of the officer, I posted to the Malwarebytes forum.  The officer determined Malwarebytes that I don't have a malicious software.  I ended up posting on forum McAfee to get my network card works again.  Then I reinstalled McAfee and start to run Windows Update.

I started with Option A, step 8 to reset Internet Explorer using http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737.  The difficulty it has worked very well.

Then Option A, step 9 says reset Windows Update using http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058.  When I ran the difficulty in default or aggressive mode, I got an error message saying: he cannot start wuauserv.  The message asks me to verify that the user has privileges to take this step.  Well, I checked through user accounts who am the only one user set up on this PC and I have administrator privileges.  Help me please run this difficulty or recommend another way to get Windows Update works again.

A3. Only not really well using the restore Partition hidden to make the "destructive recovery" will include all drivers, etc., that have been installed at the factory.

    A4a. Yes, a real possibility.

A4b. You run at least three 3 tests on the backup data before restoring one (1) with your installed & updated up-to-date anti-virus application (for example, Microsoft Security Essentials) and two 2 with good reputation, free online scans (e.g., ESET;) Bit Defender; Kaspersky; HouseCall; (F - Secure).

  • Problem with Windows Update after the new installation of Windows 7 Pro the Lenovo ThinkPad X 200

I'm trying to do a fresh install of Windows 7 Pro on a Lenovo ThinkPad X 200. The product key is easy to find on the sticker of the ThinkPad. However, the version of Windows is hidden (for example, I can't check that my ThinkPad had originally installed Windows 7 Pro). I was able to install by using a Pro Win 7 SP1 CD ROM I bought for another installation. I used the ThinkPad I was trying to make the new facility on the product key. I was able to activate the Windows 7 Pro using the phone call and my cell phone. I checked the activation! However, I have problems with Windows update. The product key may be a different version of Windows 7. If so, why did it install and activate OK? Y at - it a fix for this problem or I have to buy a new version of Windows 7 Pro? Please note that I have not yet installed all drivers Lenovo ThinkPad as I can't seem to install correctly. Thank you!

Since the issue is updated to Windows, it is not a product number key.

  • Problem with Windows Update!

    Hello!

I have been using a computer HP (h8-1320eo) for about 11 months now, and I have a problem now.

When Windows Update wants to install some updates, I let do and she successfully the download, but when he wants to set up updates, it freezes at 12%. First time I have let it run about 45-60 min, then forced to close. This happens every time, I shut down my computer.

Initially, I contacted the Support of Mircosoft, nothing helps, I did some research and I found this discussion on a website (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/517267/sfc-will-not-complete-and-windows-update-gives-a-800...) And that sounds just like what's happening to me! And as I read down, I wasn't the only one, there are others, but they all HP computers.

And that is why I contacted HP now, and sometimes the computer had some problems to open some files / or orders, for example "stop Installation" when I tried to stop Windows Update...

    Christian,

I think that using a Restore Point to try and 'go back' is not enough to clear this error.

It seems that there may be a recent problem with an update of Windows: KB2887069

Reference Microsoft Forum: kb2887069 crashes at 12%

    You can try the following:

    • The system startup and logon
    • The Windows Updates Notify value (instead of automatic update)
    • Restart and sign (just because cela 'glue change', defines the kernel and make the computer happy)
    • Open windows updates
    • Look for the updates - which creates a list of the updates
    • Highest point and click right update KB2887069
    • Select this option to HIDE the update
    • Try to install the updates

The same patch / update watch upwards in the list of Windows 8 update - it does not seem to cause problems.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Reloading the image: use your most recent picture disc and recharge the system at this point.  Depending on when you created the Image, it's more or less painful. It will certainly take your system at this point in time, when everything worked.

If you have never created a System Image, you can learn about it here:

HP PC - creating and using a System Image to restore your computer (Windows 7) - c02053303

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If none of these suggestions work, then the underlying cause of your problem may be another that which has been previously documented.

    One thing you can try:

Use the approach suggested above and hide the updates from one or more at a time, try to run the updates between selections.

It is a painful process; It can help discover the question if KB2887069 does not cause any problems.

  • Problems with Windows Update after uninstalling SP2 (Vista Home Premium)

    Hello, everyone!

Two days ago, I tried to install SP2 through my Windows Update. During the installation and then restart, it stopped on step 3 (0%), ignored and open Windows normally. But, I realized that I had totally lost Aero (I didn't even have the option in the window color and appearance), and also Windows Update constantly gave me the message that I always important updates - SP2 has not installed correctly (I rebooted the computer several times to try to resolve this problem, but everything remained the same: stop on step 3) ", running Windows, and once again the message that I've updated important). I searched in various forums, but could not solve the problem, so I decided to uninstall SP2 via Control Panel. But it doesn't let me do that - whenever I clicked on the button uninstall, it says that the installation is not finished yet. So, I tried the system restore, but whenever I clicked it, an error message (that I didn't understand at all) appeared. So, I went into safe mode and tried the system restore and it worked (Control Panel uninstall option does not in Mode safe either), and everything is back to SP1. But now I have problems with Windows Update - I get the error message 0 x 8007002 (and even 0 x 8007005 several times). I tried everything I could find in the forums (the thing with automated updates service does not because I don't have this option in Services), but nothing works. If anyone has any advice whatsoever, I would be really grateful for that, because I don't know what to do.

For safety, I use NOD32 anti virus, Tall Emu Online Armor and ThreatFire.

    Thank you very much!

    Hi EvanaZgb,
Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Answers forum.

I would say to first disable the anti virus and other security software. Then proceed as follows:

    STEP 1
    ------------
Download and install the latest version of Windows Installer
To install the latest Windows Installer, visit the Microsoft Web site at the following address:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=5A58B56F-60B6-4412-95B9-54D056D6F9F4&displaylang=en

Step 2 now try to update again and post back with the results
    ------------
Cleanup, utility to download and install the Microsoft Windows CleanUp utility. To do this, see the Microsoft Web site: http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe

Now try to update again and post back with results

  • x 32 Vista - problems with periodic updates

My computer tells me there are 14 new available updates (all are for Microsoft 2010-1 update of definition, 4 security updates and General updates 9). For almost every day of 12/23/11 - today, 15/01/11, I download and install without error.  I then restart my computer and the notification comes up saying that the same 14 updates must be downloaded and installed.

  • problem with recent update (KB915597)

After you install the update of recent definition for Windows Defender - KB915597 (definition 1.71.833.0), I noticed, after going online, that my toolbar Google and my ebay Toolbar where gone.  Left click of the toolbar area revealed the existence of the menu bar and the status bar.  I did not at first asscociate the problem with the update so I tried to reinstall the toolbars, but that did not work.  I then performed a system restore and restored to the period immediately prior to the update.  I rebooted, connected to the internet and viola! My toolbars were there.  And then I installed the update, connected to the internet to find that my toolbars are still missing.  System Restore my toolbars and once again were back.  Anyone else having a problem with this update?  I leave myself open does not reinstall the update?

BTW, I'm under IE7, Windows Vista Home Basic Edition.

Use the system again, restore and then Defender manually update on v1.71.859.0 Defs (or more) and see if the behavior persists: https://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/Definitions/HowToWD.aspx

TIP: Uninstall bars tools & reboot, then download/install the latest version of the toolbar a 1 without that you simply can not live. Several third-party toolbars have their own, very opinions on where they should be located in the IE toolbar and they most certainly can "kill" each other. Google and eBay toolbars are just two of them.

  • Problem with security update KB2667402, cannot install

    Original title: KB2667402

An old Asus 1005pe netbook, yes the "Seashell" is still ongoing, problem with the above security update. Windows Update shows this update "has failed" to install. I checked the list of updates installed and found it even already installed. I think that the date, from 2012. I'm of the mindset that you 'don't fix if it is not broke' and 'if it is fixed, don't break again. " My questions are:

If the update is already there, why is Windows up-to-date call for this again? It is already not working?

My backstory is, this netbook was sitting on the shelf for five years before taking it out for use. Of course, I knew that update was necessary, so I put WU on the move with more than 238 updates on a single call. I don't know there was more, WU was executed several times.

I ran the journal of reliability to see how the computer has been assigned, he showed a level of performance after the updates. The list of success or failure of update installs show more failures of this one update.

My Adventure continued with Asus and their Asus "Live update" is now uninstalled and the function of the bios update goes to the site but does absolutely nothing. It's a question of Asus but part of my adventure too.

I read another thread on this issue and a gentleman uninstalled the existing KB2667402 and leaves the new update to replace.

If WU has this update on the new list, is the original in fact "broken" and need to be replaced?

I do not want to solve this problem, if it is not broken. I hope that's not too talkative, I'm looking to understand and learn as well. I'm not even sure categories below are correct, please bear with me.

    Thanks for your time.

    Hello

I realize has the inconvenience that you are experiencing with Windows updates. I will certainly help you to question.

I suggest you follow the steps mentioned below:

    Method 2:

Reset the Windows Update components that refer to the link below:

    https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/KB/971058

    Method 3:

If you use a third-party security software, try to disable the third-party security software and check. Disable third-party security software.

a: you should see an icon for your Antivirus program in the taskbar notification area. It is usually at the bottom right of your desktop.

    b. click the third-party security software, you will see a pop up.

    (c) in this pop and select the option to disable, click on it.

    d. now third-party security software will be disabled.

The 12.0.5 security update was released outside of the SECT, which has caused the benefits you see. You can go to help > updates... and then click the preferences at the bottom of the dialog box. Now uncheck the box to display the Ps CS5 updates.
