What is the program "SIW"?

Today in work, our technician COMPUTER ran a program called SIW my cell of society and put the info on a USB key.

He said that it was getting to the specifications of the computer.  Is this true?  What other information it took my computer?  He copies my documents and pictures?

In addition, I read that this SIW program can see the passwords behind the asterisks.  Should I worry that he now has access to all of my passwords?

Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

For the best answer, ask your IT Department what data they have collected.

You can find info on what SIW collects on its Web site:
http://gtopala.com/

On the site, it includes:
"Recovery of passwords" and "Reveal passwords lost, hidden behind asterisks".

List of passwords:

If you're worried about passwords, you can change them.

  • What are the programs should go to start?

    Hello

    Thank you!

My personal opinion is that the attention that many people pay for how long it takes to start is not justified. Assuming that the speed of the computer is otherwise satisfactory, it is generally not worry. Most people start their computer once a day or even less frequently. In the overall scheme of things, even a few minutes at the start is not very important. Personally I power my computer when I get up in the morning, then go get my coffee. When I come back, he did start. I don't know how long it took to start and I do not.

However, if you don't want to solve it, maybe it's because this programs to start automatically, and you can stop some of them to start this way. On each program, you don't want to automatically start, check its Options to see if she has the choice to not start (make sure that you actually choose to not run, not simply a "don't display the icon" option). Many can easily and better be arrested like that. If this does not work, run MSCONFIG from the start. Run the line and on the Startup tab, uncheck the programs that you do not want to automatically start.
However, if I were you, I wouldn't do this just for the purpose of the minimum number of running programs. Despite what a lot of people tell you, you should be concerned, not with the way * a lot * of these programs you run, but * that *. Some of them can seriously affect the performance, but others have no effect on performance.

Don't stop all programs to run willy-nilly. What you need to do is to determine what each program is that its value is for you and what the performance cost is running all the time. You can get more information on the latter with research on the internet and ask questions about the details here.

Once you have this information, you can make a smart informed decision on what you want to keep and what you want to get rid of.

  • What is the application of "Get Video Conferencing" in my folder start programs?

I have a program in my start up called 'Get Video Conferencing' programs folder.  When I click on it, I get a message that says: "Lenovo's Application must download & install the Skype application on your computer. "To continue, click the button"Download and install"  I don't know what this program so I hit Cancel on the installation.  What is the program of 'Get Video Conferencing'?

I think to uninstall, but there is no program listed under that name in Add/Remove programs.  What can I do to get rid of this if I don't want?

In my view, it is safe to delete the shortcut. And in general, SWTOOLS is not used except in the recovery of the factory system. If I were you, I just delete the shortcut on the desktop and let everything that is in the SWTOOLS, assuming that don't mind anyway. No registry concerned. I hope this helps.
