What is the use of Vmware vcenter device? and when it can be used? is it free?

Hi guys - when can we see VMware vcenter device an option? Is it free?

Is that it is contemporary with the linux version of VMware vcenter windows version with Sql express?

When we use this? Why not to choose windows VMware Vcenter license version if it is available for free? (up to max. 5 hosts and VM 50 s for how long we can use this in our environment)

Kind regards

Abhishek Singh

According to me, there's no difference between vCenter through windows & device licenses.

You will get vCenter license (as a whole) and now its your choice to deploy vCenter either on windows or deploy the same form of appliance. Once deployed, you must apply the license.

If you opt for the vCenter Foundation, you will get the same set of features you deploy the VC under windows or as an appliance. It is the same for the standard vCenter license. If you deploy on windows, you need windows license as well.

  • What is the difference between these two JKM and when to use that one.

Please tell the difference between these two.
JKM Oracle compatible o JKM Oracle compatible (Date of update)

Basic difference is in the obligation.

JKM Oracle compatible (Date of update) wants a DATE/TIMESTAMP column in the source tables (s) who will get inserted/updated updated by the source application. ODI will capture the data modified, based on the value of this column. Only the DELETION part requires a trigger to keep track of deletion happening at source one or more tables.

Where as JKM uniform Oracle does not require any which TIMESTAMP column in the tables of the source (s). It uses triggers to keep track of the INSERT/UPDATE/DELETE happening in the source.

Compatible JKM Oracle performance (Update Date) is preferable, because it will create a little over the head on your source system. SO if you have a DATE/TIMESTAMP column in the tables of the source (s) that gets inserted/updated by the source application, then go JKM Oracle compatible (Date of update).

    Otherwise search JKM consistent Oracle.

  • What is the use of snapshots of consolidation?

I've read up, but I'm still not really what is the usefulness of this feature.

    Please can someone enlighten me?

Also please correct if my train of thoughs is wrong:

    i. instant aren't really backups

II. the Snapshots are supposed to be taken so that the virtual machine can be recovered at this point in time (for example, before the Windows Update)

III. snapshots are "integrated" with dare the virtual machine (via VMware Tools), which means that we can make the Brownie when virtual machines are on the rise.

    -Windows 2008?

    -Microsoft SQL?

IV. Snapshots would take place outside the VMs

-The data store should be much larger then the VMS (for example if the virtual machine is 200 GB, datastore shd be 300 GB to VMDK + Snapshots)

-Snapshot sizes would grow as time passes (eg. instant 100 days ago risked increasing from 10 GB to 20 GB according to the changes made to the virtual machine)

    v. recommendations (by VM)

-Do not to keep snapshots to extend the periods of time

-Do not keep too many clichés

    -"consolidate" snapshots

So, what is the difference between "Consolidate" and "Delete All"?

I think you may have the wrong idea of the snapshot...

I would like to use Windows update + service pack installation for example.

VM with MS svr 2003 running... you can install SP1, and then test, can install updates to Windows, and then test.

    -snapshot 1 (sn1): Win2003 Updates & SP

-Install of Win2003 SP1 (with reboot etc.)

    -snapshot 2 (sn2): Win 2003 SP1

-Install Windows updates current on Win2003 SP1

    -snapshot 3 (sn3): Win 2003 SP1 with updates

-svr stable for 5 days (eg. installing Acrobat reader, Microsoft office)

So u shd have 3 pictures... who all "grows" that you test your DVS.

But your VM will be 4 types of main file (with respect to this context)

    1. basis of files of the virtual machine (vmdk, vmx, memory of the computer virtual, swp files etc.)

    2 VM snapshot file

3 VM snapshot files swp (swap is maybe not correct name... but I do think that the proper name)

    In terms of logic...

-'sn1' is the basis of the snapshot

    -"sn2" is "sn1" + "data1."

    -"sn3" is "sn1" + "data1" + data2.

    "- VM1 is sn1' + 'data1' + data2 ' + data unnamed swap

The 5th day of test, the virtual machine will have files for

' '- sn1', "sn2", "sn3", 'data1', 'base VM,' data2 ' and unnamed swap data that are generated during the 5 days of tests.

Then from the right 'consolidation' will convert the name in "data3" swap so that

    -'sn1' is the snapshot of base + 'data3 '.

    -"sn2' is 'sn1' + 'data1', 'data3 '.

    -"sn3" is 'sn1' + 'data1' data2' + 'data3 '.

    "- VM1 is sn1' + 'data1' + data2 ' + 'data3 '.

In a way layman... Virtual machines with snapshot are VMs who have ΘtΘ divisΘs into multiple files.

"" When you remove stereotypes (please do not try everything remove), what you do is merge sn1 "+"data1"+ data2 ' + data not named swap or 'data3' in a virtual machine.

Sorry... I forgot to add... Please do not receive or keep snapshots VMware for long periods of time.

The snapshots are not backup. They can line up while you have yourself photographed... soon...

So how about storage shared... it's 4 disc are necessary for normal redundancy? or 3 is sufficient according to the documentation.

    Thank you

Before you answer, you must reflect on what is to say NORMAL redundancy? As long as you can keep your total drive less than the size of a full disk, you'll be fine... If it becomes higher than that and you have a failure, you now will have a major problem trying to recover a defective unit. The documentation is for a minimum configuration, however, you generally have to be smarter than the documentation. You must configure really redundant N + 1. Whatever size you need, configure always a plus. So, if you need the space of 2 devices, set up 3. If you need the space of 3, Setup 4. And if you start using the appliance + 1, add another. Always keep N + 1.

In what concerns the grid + oracle user in most of the stores of this level of "termination" is total nonsense. Unless you have a DBA who makes GI and a DBA who data bases etc... It's a moot point. I'd say it's a complete waste of time and energy in all cases. I have it configured with grid + oracle user and I configured with just the oracle user. The multi-user method can sometimes become confused when you try to find something like the other user. YMMV.

I could be misunderstanding your question, but if you mean the letters below the numbers on the keyboard of the phone (for example the ' ABC' below the 2), use only one of them is for companies of advertising with easier to remember numbers. For example, Apple Announces the number (800) MY-APPLE which is composed as (800) 692-7753 words are easier to remember and the numbers on the keyboard allow to translate the letters to numbers that you dial.

    Hello

The point behind rename/remove the policies folder is to eliminate the possibility of corrupted files. Once deleted/renamed, the folder is recreated.

However, note that renaming/deleting is not applicable to all records.

  • What is the use of the codec pack?

What is the use of the codec pack? What happens if I install a codec pack xp my operating system to windows 7

Codec packs allow a player to media/OS read audio/video files in the case, he could not play.

I'm not using this as a recommendation, but take a look at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K-Lite_Codec_Pack for the info and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Codec

Rather than installing a codec pack, if WMP will not play a file, try a different media player (free) like VLC or GOM.

If you download and install one of these players, don't let them take over your files that don't let them become the media player by default, until you are happy that they do what you want.
