What objects should be created before impdp?

Hello

Platform: RHEL 5.8 64-bit

ENV: Source Server - Oracle 10.2.0.5 on ASM

Server - Target Oracle 10.2.0.5 on ASM

Specific patterns must be exported from the Source database and imported into the target database - expdp/impdp (datapump) will be used for export and import.

My questions are:

  1. Objects must be created (roles, synonyms, storage spaces, etc.) initial before importing schemas?
  2. Is it possible to export these objects (roles, synonyms, storage spaces, etc.) during schema export (expdp) and have Datapump automatically create the database target when importing?
  3. I might have to repeat the steps expdp/impdp multiple times. I have to let the users/schemas and/or other objects in the database target for later impdp?

Best regards

Hello

tablespaces/roles can extract only when it is full = y, they are not valid for a snippet of schema. Full = there does not mean it will extract all had by default but as soon as you say will include = x export will have access to export anything, but because you said only include tablespace is all you have - see the example below:

This will not work:

[oracle@server]:EIANCAPP:[~]# expdp / schemas = system include = tablespace]

Export: Release 11.2.0.2.0 - Production on Fri Jul 12 15:23:51 2013

  • How to determine what storage spaces must be created before running IMPDP?

    Hi all

    Thank you very much.

I just discovered that all relevant tablespaces must be created before you can run the IMPDP.
I'm curious to know if it is possible to understand the tablespace names from a dump file.

No need to have the same space, you can use the REMAP_TABLESPACE parameter.

If the source nom_tablespace is "USERS", if your destination tablespace name is 'USERS_DEST' then give as

    impdp system /* dumpfile = file.dmp logfile = file.log directory = data_pump_dir remap_tabelspace =(USERS:USERS_DEST) *.

or if you want to know what tablespace, there is an option called SQLFILE, so if you import into SQLFILE, you can see all of the DDL from your dumpfile.

    Impdp system / * directory logfile = file.log dumpfile = file.dmp = data_pump_dir sqlfile = ddl_dump.txt

  • What consideration we should have have before creating the tablespace

    Hello
I was asked this question in an interview. I have a large volume of data (for example 80 GB). Now, I have to create a tablespace to contain these data. What consideration we should have have before creating the tablespace.
In fact, I could not answer after a lot of research, so I post here.

    Concerning

    Hello

In 10g, you must create a locally managed Tablespace (MEASURE of the LOCAL MANAGEMENT) If you know the
size of your Tables/indexes you can choose the size of the scale with the option of UNIFORM SIZE.
If you have small and large Tables / Index, then choose the AUTOALLOCATE option.

It is recommended to use SAMS with the SEGMENT SPACE MANAGEMENT AUTO option and then the PCTUSED
is auto tune by an internal algorithm and FREELIST are managed by a bitmap. With this option, it is best to
be with the last group of hotfixes.

About BIGFILE Tablespace, if you use BIGFILE tablespace, you will have just a data file which can extend up to
4G block (thus 32 TB if you have db_block_size = 8KB). And SQL syntax allow you to manage the 'big' with data file
the same command for the Tablespace.

But you should care the limit of your OS. Imagine that your operating system or the file system does not support very largefiles then,
you have no advantage over the use of Bigfile tablespace. Also, you might have more than 1 data file.

Smallfile Tablespace using your data files should not exceed 4M block (so 32 GB for 8 KB / block) but you can have
up to 1022 datafiles on your Tablespace. So eventually, if you use the 1022 data files, you have the same capacity
Bigfile Tablespace and you can use several system files.

To 80 GB with 3 or 4 data files, you can easily manage this volume. But of course from time to time you will have to
    Add a new data file.

    Hope this can help.

  • What should I do before selling iwatch?

My Apple Watch was linked to an iPhone.then I reset the iPhone and sell it to another.

now what should I do before selling the iWatch now?

    Hello

    Before selling your watch:

    • Pair it with your iPhone (if you bought another);
    • Disable iPhone pairing using the application of the watch.

This will erase your watch and is also a reliable way to remove Activation lock him (so that a buyer will be able to pair the watch with their own iPhone).

  • What is the password of a user created by impdp?

Can someone tell me what is the password for a new user created by impdp?

    Hello

When you remap the schema, the password will be unknown. I'm sure that the reason for this is because the password is a hash of the schema name and the password in clear text. If you imported the schema without renaming the schema, the password would be him, but since the modified schema name and the hash of the combo has not changed, then when the connection is attempted and the hash of the new scheme with the game of wontch original password. The only way that a remap_schema is allowed is if you have privs, so the only way I know how to solve this problem is to:

    change new_schema user identified by new_password;

    that requires administrative privileges.

  • What data should I buy?

    Hello to you guys.

I don't know if I ask this question in the right place, but I need some advice from people who have been in the game a lot longer than me. I am kinda new to the world of Oracle DBA, received my first job in this world like an Oracle Apps DBA, almost two years ago. The majority of my money, I have saved and will continue to register to start a business. I do the things I need to do now to start the company. I want to create a media social web application supported by the Oracle database. I have no idea what version of the Oracle database, I need to buy to do this. I know that MySQL would be much cheaper, but I fell in love with the Oracle databases and using their products. The web application would be able to support voice and video with scalability, do someone here will know what Oracle database product I should look to purchase and why? I don't really understand what I look when I'm looking in their store. I have not yet called because I am not quite committed to buy right now and want to do my research before calling. Any advice would be great.

    Thanks in advance

"Go with what you know" isn't always the best idea.  For example, the 80 I knew in DEC, so I bought the stock on DEC.  I had the chance to get out what I put in it before it crashed out ignominiously.  Sometimes you have to look forward, not back.

For business startups, it's even worse.  More than half die within a few years, generally through inadequate capitalization, often through difficult assess the market conditions.

If you have an idea, and you want to create a service any that runs on the web.   So do many other people.  Some create a business plan, for the "Angels" to finance start-up costs - many technology-based cities 'incubators', where many entrepreneurs co-locate to help each other in their businesses.  This is not a bad idea and is often associated with groups of angels and local universities that have programs in the company in the spirit of enterprise.  Search on Google, for example, incubator of San Diego gets results for there.

For the technical side, what others have said about open source is quite right.  There is a large pool of talent out there of people who follow the last words to the mode as data and agile programming (or other).  If you find these people and use what they know to turn things up quickly and cheaply.  Because again, many other people is competing with you.  A small startup must be able to assess the market for its service and to change direction on a coin conditions change.  Companies like Oracle are biased in favour of existing corporations, where chunks of money are dedicated to projects, regardless of how they try to act cool with cloud products.  Now, perhaps using Amazon cloud products or MS or Oracle may be suitable for what you have in mind, they can initially be spun quickly and at low cost.  I could not say to your situation.  Idea of Oracle to be able to run the same on the cloud and then convert them to local accommodation or vice versa may be a stroke of genius, or perhaps a money - sucking, how it works remains to be seen.

If the company go for the next round then becomes to bring in professional management and technical, when start evaluating converting the House stuff to stuff on the shelf.  Remember, the world is moving.  I've seen a number of small businesses that have become medium-sized companies and therefore invest in their existing systems, they lose objectivity.  A company of $10 K is different from that of a M $1 company is different from that of a company of 10 M $ is different than a $100 M Business and so on.

In the end, it's simple: when money da?

  • What format should my files?

before that I am committed to the purchase of this product, if I want to take a pre-existing song and break up into individual instruments so I can manipulate them (as in a remix of an existing song to store some items, but change or add others), what format should my file?  is it important?  Thanks in advance for any help you can offer me.

I think I might have exaggerated what I really want to do. I want essentially to take existing songs and making them flow with the same beat that underlies each of them in a scope, a trail mix of several pieces. I know I should be able to adjust the tempo/BPM so that they are consistent, too, right?

So, if you think I'm capable of doing these two things with hearing, is there a certain file format that would be better than another?

Yes, you can do mixdowns which do quite easily - it is just a matter of butting places them on a track and adjusting how they go through. It is Visual and intuitive to do. And yes there are tools to change the speed of tracks, although it should be a little more careful with this, that the people are often very sensitive to changes in the titles they already know. The good news is that a lot of titles that are suitable for this kind of treatment are consistent in the choice of tempos, but with all these things, experiment a little will get you quite a long way.

As for the formula that you save the results in - it's actually not really a problem if you stick to the default values. The principle is quite simple; you mix the results down to the internal format of the hearing which is uncompressed wav files. Having done this, you can make a distribution of copy as an MP3 player if you want to. The reason to do it like that, is that whenever you create an MP3 file, you will lose information - in order to become an MP3 of an MP3 file is usually pretty bad news. And this also has implications for the way in which you build your tracks in the first place - try to not start with MP3s, but good CD imported directly or whatever. If you want to start with vinyl, then save as files wav, for exactly the same reason. Bottom line is that MP3 is a distribution format and not a production one!

  • Clear the Cache and Cookies... downside? What problems this may create?

I'm having problems of speed, scroll wheel, etc... and didn't "clean" my MacBook Pro 15 "Late 2008 with upgrade of RAM because I do not know how to clean it up." So, I was informed that the cache and cookies from 8 years of use of the compensation would be a good start. Before you do it... What problems it will create? WilI I need to know ALL the passwords and ID to all my sites, I need to prepare and or know that I need to deal with when I do this? Are there other things 'cleansing' can I do to make my MacBook Pro works best? Thank you and God bless you!

Start with these simple steps (after that you made that you have a backup of all your data!):

    1. Start or restart your Mac.
    2. As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key.
    3. Release the SHIFT key when you see the logo Apple appears on the screen.

This will put you in Mode without failure, which will be even slower than you used to. Don't worry: after starting over, you can immediately restart in normal mode. In this way, a lot is 'cleaned' automatically.

  • Want to buy a used MBP - what features should I go?

I absolutely need 16G of RAM because I do development (Android/iOS and others). It will be more reason. I could also have run windows some how. What I want to know

    1. is 256 G of sufficient storage?

    2. If I buy a used one, what should I check before I hand in the money to the seller? I'm a noob to apple.

    Any help/advice would be useful

I think 256GB storage is not enough, especially because you will use a lot of it for Windows... But it will work if you use an external drive for plenty of storage.

  • Should I create pagefile on ramdisk with my new SSD?

    Hello

Got my new SSD which is the only drive in my system now. To avoid the heavy writing on this drive, I bought Superspeed Ramdisk more (IE temporary files etc.). I have Windows Vista Business 32-bit with 4 GB of ram. The Ramdisk software is able to use the ram 512-1024 that Vista cannot use. In addition, this software can serialize the contents of ramdisk so that it IS possible to run the file here.

I only use this portable desktop so I'm never near max on virtual memory.

So, should I create my swap file on a virtual disk? And if so, it would be enough with 512 MB pagefile? Vista will allow me to set this parameter or create the pagefile on my boot drive, regardless of my settings?

EDIT: Just for clarification and the difference of this thread and 1000 others, my concern here is the constant of writing in the pagefile on my SSD. Not the small gain (if any) the pagefile in Ram would produce...

    --

    SSD? Nice.

I try and run the pagefile from the Ramdisk to be tested, according to your needs, you may have to go to the EHR.  However, you should have the system handle it anyway.  You can change it, but for now, since the system is new with lots of RAM, test how the virtual disk swap file works if this does not work for you.  You can still use the standard configuration with the swap file managed by the system on the disk.

Unfortunately I am not too familiar with the Ramdisk software and good course:

  • My question is: is there an approach appropriate to where and how files should be created and arranged, except directly in your main drive, in my case C:?

I recently had a hard drive replaced requiring a new installation of Windows 7. When I went to get the system in place, the guy who set up Windows told me that he created the user directory specifically in a way so that new files to be created in a Documents folder that was created under the username. At least that's what, in my view, said.

In any case, I always create new folders and their subfolders under Local C: drive.  My question is: is there an approach appropriate to where and how files should be created and arranged, except directly in your main drive, in my case C:? Thank you for your help.

Windows 7 has been designed with the intention that user folders and files will be store in one of the folders under the users, that is to say the Documents, photos, etc.

It is not recommended to store in the root, i.e. C:\ directory.

If you have any other disks or partitions, you can store what you want there.
