Hi trevor,.

To find the directory of a file, you can follow these steps.

(a) right click on the file > click Properties.

(b) in properties, on the general tab locate the location of the file (the location is the directory of the file).

    I hate windows 8

    Hello

If you have Windows 8, then there is no start button in the taskbar to desktop. Instead, press the Windows key on your keyboard that will access the start screen.

If you have Windows 8.1 then the Start button was introduced at the far left of the taskbar of office and also opens the start screen. It has the Windows logo on it - see:

Please note that the start screen (one with all the tile direct for your applications) replaces the old Start Menu style that was traditionally in the lower left corner of most older versions of Windows.

  • where is the directory of documents in fire fox

I have used IE before, but I switched to Mozilla Fire Fox. I'm looking for the directory Documents from Fire Fox so I can move documents
    Since the inside office

Hmm, Firefox is a directory of Documents. If you need a place for items on your desktop, I suggest using your regular Documents folder (a Windows creates for you). To move documents, you can use Windows Explorer, I suggest to pin to the Windows taskbar. They shortened keyboard is: hold down the Windows key and tap the E key.

    About directories in Firefox:

    • By default, Firefox saves your downloads in your downloads folder. You can change this in the Options page if you wish: boot, homepage, tabs and download settings. But the internal list of downloads of Firefox won't show what Firefox has added to this folder, and not that you moved to the folder from your desktop.

Overall, Firefox is more oriented to browsing websites that it is towards browsing the files on your computer. Due to security rules and differences in the way Firefox integrates with applications, I don't think that you will find it as useful as Windows Explorer for these purposes.

  • where is the directory created?

I create a directory with the following command:

    create or replace directory ' / tmp / ';

    Where this directory created?

    See correct syntax it:
    http://www.MCS.csueastbay.edu/support/Oracle/doc/10.2/server.102/b14200/statements_5007.htm

The statement creates a database object, not an operating system/folder object. The purpose of directory data is not validated, it is just object pointing to a folder of the operating system, this file exists or is not unimportant for database, it creates the database object only.
You must create the folder in the operating system yourself. This command does not create the folder of the OS.

  • Failed to save to the directory/etc/vmware...

Backup Exec is used to perform a weekly backup to the directory/etc, a number of ESX 3.5 hosts.  However, we get an error message saying that "access is denied to the directory/etc/vmware" for one of these ESX hosts.  Backup of all other directories in / etc is OK.  In addition, we run backup with the ROOT account.

We would like to ask your advice on

    (1) what is contained in the directory/etc/vmware?

    (2) at - it suggestions of the denied access?

    Thanking you in anticipation.

/ etc/vmware / * contains specific configuration files to esx.  Pass, firewall, configuration file overall esx.  If only a single host has failed while others succeeded, then it could have been a reboot pass, or something else that was currently using files in this folder, which may have caused the backup fails.

I usually don't backup ESX ESX or configuration files, as it's generally faster rebuild that in order to restore itself in the case of ESX.

  • PCTCT regardless of the DIRECTORY path variable

I have a table (list) that called several folders. I use ListGetAt based on the index of the value of cfloop to get the name of the folder I want LISTDIR with PCTCT. I attribute the name of the folder to a variable. Test demonstrates the foldername table works fine. Name of the folder hardcoding in PCTCT gives the desired result. BUT, when I replace all or part of the DIRECTORY = 'path' with the file name-variable default performance is the root directory as defined by the ftp credentials.

Why DIRECTORY = "" folder/logs / "give me what I want and the DIRECTORY =" # file #/ logs "ignores even when he #folder # is clearly defined?" I used variables inside PCTCT before, so I know that works... I am puzzled, see attached code for reference; (FYI 'files' are assigned to the variable called 'House')

It turns out that it was a problem of path with the FTP credentials, I'd simply not the path correctly disposed to get code find its target. No one could help with that!

  • Call the library function does not find the DLL in the directory where are my LLBs

I'm using LabVIEW 8.6.  I have a set of screws in several LLBs.  All LLBs located in a directory.  Most of my screws is wrappers for the functions in a DLL.  I was told to put my DLL in the directory where are the LLBs, and apparently this is how the previous programmer has worked (using an earlier version of LabView).

In the configuration of the library call, I've specified .dll without path.  (This is how we want our screws are an API that will integrate other programmers, so I don't know where they put things and I can't use absolute paths).

When I insert the VIs in LabVIEW, LabVIEW can not find the DLL and wonder of spotted.  It's just that here in the directory with the LLBs and when I double click on it, everything works fine.  However my absolute path to the DLL now appears in the library to call configuration, and we don't want that.

Does anyone know how to make this work?  I guess the location of the screw (or LLBs, in this case) should be the current directory and thus Windows search there for the DLL.  However, it seems that this is not the case (in the least, in the latest version of LabVIEW).

    Thank you.

    Batya

Well someone using your library should not have to dig into your screws and do it all on his own. Instead your library must wrap that and hide disorders it altogether.

The cluster of error has been added when the dynamic path option has been added. It is not useful hide this error output, so it's always there. As well as the dynamic path, there was the improved error handling added the CLN. One of them is that the level of verification when calling function errors (exception handling) can be specified. I guess that some of these options may generate an error code instead of bring up a dialog box, as they did before and that the output of error code can be useful even in the case of static calls.

As to what you want to do, I would have long managed that with a DLL that has essentially the same functions as your other wrapper DLLs and an initiliasation function that returns a pointer to a structure of functional distribution based on the actual DLL you want to call. Quite like what an object-oriented function dispatch table is. Then, when your interface initilising you call initialize function and specify the device interface/type that you want to use and after that all other functions take a pointer extra function parameter expedition as the first parameter, in addition to the parameters of the real function. This dispatch function pointer would be just a pointer to a structure that contains the table of function for this interface pointers and the sake of LabVIEW would simply be an integer of size pointer.

The wrapper function then checks the pointer structure validity send feature and call the actual function with the remaining parameters. It is a C programming and may require a planning and desigining the different interfaces to facilitate this kind of technique of the expedition, but it will certainly pay to long-term and make your library even can be used in previous versions of LabVIEW, so that VB etc. without delicate dynamic loading in the level high, programming environment.

  • Specify the directory where you want to install the application?

A quick and simple question... installing PTools 8.48, the default installation of the installation n:\PT8.48 folder, which I changed to c:\PT8.48 program. Now, when you install the HCM application, the default value is n:\HC8.9

The installation instructions say "you must specify the directory < PS_HOME >; This is the directory where you installed PeopleTools for a given server.

Q: are c:\PT8.48 my PS_HOME? that is, should I change the default n:\HC8.9 to c:\PT8.48 (which is what the installation guide)? Or do I have to enter c:\HC8.9 (which is what seems to imply the logic of default Setup)?

You have installed the application in the same directory as your installation of Peopletools, then Yes, it should be c:\PT8.48 (your PS_HOME).
If you do not, your Peopletools won't see specific scripts for request, including those necessary for the creation of the database.
