What's new!

Today, I need to print some important documents. I hit the "print" key and place appears all that JUNK.

HP... I'm NOT interested in germs or any E - Print OR ink any moment AND I do not use wireless. I didn't ask for this JUNK, I wanted to just print out important documents.

I declined ALL the UNWANTED a few different times and tried to print only important documents. Time ran out and I was unable to print these documents.

Why did you decide for yourself that you wanted me to jump through hoops to print just something?

Just a week or two ago all I had to do was press the 'print' button and it printed what I wanted to print. Now I can't print ANYTHING!

How can I get rid of all your not asked JUNK and get to when I hit print, my printer HP?

Hey @RCB123, welcome to the Forums of HP!

I'd be happy to help you get rid of the advertising that you see. As I'm not sure what specifically causes pop ups to appear, it might be better to remove the full features software and download and install the base driver. If you do not know how to remove the software the following link will help you to do: HP printers - uninstalling the software of the printer (Windows).

Now, since you post your model number, I can send you the link to your product page to provide basic driver, but you can find it using this link: HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads. Don't forget to download the basic driver, not the full functionality.

If you need help to find your driver, meet with your model or product number and I'll help you.

See you soon!

  • So, what's new in the Sierra?

    I mean by that - once the upgrade there is zero information about what is new. No visit. No clues. Nothing on how to call Siri, etc.. No welcome to the message of Sierra.

    Basically, it's like taking just El Capitan. I don't see anything else yet, and there is no obvious guides to show me how to discover and use the features of the Sierra.

    Have you tried to delete the file prefs.js and user.js file possible?

    It is also possible that there is a problem with the files that store the registry extensions.

    Delete the files (extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini, extensions.cache) extensions.* and compatibility.ini in the profile folder of Firefox to reset the extensions registry.

    New files will be created if necessary.

    See "extension corrupted files:

  • Stop showing what is new page

    We are limited to using firefox 3.6.25 for work in order to be compatible with other systems. Whenever I open firefox, I get a page of "what's new" who wants to download a new version, which we are not allowed to do. It's a real pain to have this show rather than a blank page or my home page. How can I get rid of this?

    Is that the software has a setting to protect the files in the Firefox profile folder and eventually to restore an older version?

    Hi martyn2lewis,

    You should look at this article on this specific issue and Preferences not savedarticle. It should give you all the information you need!

    If this does not work:

    1. Enter about: config in the address bar
    2. Click I'll be careful, I promise you if prompted
    3. In the filter field, type Startup
    4. Double click on startup.homepage_override_url
    5. Delete the text string, and then click OK
    6. Close Firefox and reopen the window to check that it worked.

    Hope this helps!

  • I installed the 9.01 update. Whenever I open firefox search addons updates it and opens the what's NEW page.

    When I tried to open firefox it always opens the what's NEW page.

    Maybe that's a problem with the prefs.js file as explained here:

  • Can the "first run after update of Firefox" (aka. "What's New" and "Add-on compatibility check") be disabled?

    We intend to deploy an update to Firefox on our campus. The question I have is this: after the update, the "compatibility of the add-on Checker" appears, then the 'What's new' page appears during the first boot after the update. In this case: we use Deep Freeze to prevent kids to do any mischief based on software on the machines. But if we push the update at night, during maintenance windows, they will be frozen in the pre-first-time-run mode. So, whenever a student starts the PC after that, they will get the popup of compatibility both the "What's new" page

    Is there a way I can disable that during the upgrade, so that students will not have to click on these 2 points away? I would like for Firefox just silently disable incompatible modules and do not display the page "news". I found ways to do it, but they involve editing omni.jar and others. I'd rather have a formal, documented way to do this.

    Thank you!!

    Well, eventually nothing worked, except all the settings I wanted to put in part of mozilla.cfg. When I added your suggestion, and one I found on the web to disable add-on compatibility check, I finally have a Firefox that loads directly to the homepage, even after the upgrade.

    Here's what my mozilla.cfg file contains (to 6.0.2):

    // Disable any auto-updates.
    lockPref("app.update.enabled", false);
    lockPref("extensions.update.enabled", false);
    lockPref("browser.search.update", false);
    lockPref("browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone", "ignore");
    lockPref("extensions.checkCompatibility.6.0", false);

    Of course, I must make the byteshift-13 at it, but copy the Core\ file and the file firefox.js to Core\Defaults\Pref\ the round is played.

    Thanks for the help!

  • 'What's new in Pages' Splash Page

    I have the latest version of Pages on my home Mac Mini and the iMac at work. Latest Mac OS X, etc. Both work, but...

    At home, whenever I start pages, I get the "what's new in Pages' Start Page. It's boring. At work, the start page NEVER appears.

    I checked the preferences, etc. and may not know how to disable the start page, or how it is that it is out of the machine to work.

    Any thoughts?

    Hi Steve,.

    Just guessing, based on a faded memory, but it looks like you can start pages from a disk image containing the installer rather than the application installed in your Applications folder.

    Try dragging the Pages icon on your dock and a fall (it should disappear with a cloud of 'smoke').

    Now locate the Pages in your Applications folder. Double-click its icon to launch the application, then go to the dock, right-click right (or Ctrl-click) on the Pages icon and choose to keep the Dock. Click-and - drag the icon in the position where you want it on the dock and continue with what you wanted to do.

    If the start page is displayed during this launch, look for a checkbox "don't show me this page again" (or similar).

    Kind regards

    Barry

  • How to disable automatic checking of update on the opening of Firefox? I want to disable that page "what's new".

    How can I disable this automatic update that always brings back me to the web page "what's new"? It was interesting the first time, but now it's just irritation. I can check the updates on my own, so I want to disable this feature. It just started when I upgraded to Firefox 5 upwards. I can't find a place to stop it to check and to bring me to this web page. In addition, I can't stop it archiving modules whenever I open the browser.
