How is it in the new groups, you can't change them, but you can in the 'old'?

    A lot of ways. You can use the filter to Camera Raw, or better yet RAW and process the image in Camera Raw. Clarity allows to increase the local contrast, use the cursor to shade to avoid the shadow is too dark.

  • What is the best way to stick a person in a group photo?

    I went to a friends House who had all their immediate family that came together, except one. I took a picture of the whole group that turned out to be good enough and they sent me a photo of a person who is missing. I scanned the photo and now I want to place the missing person in the group photo. Can anyone describe how to do this. I think something with layer masks or paint tools, but I don't know what is the best route. Can someone help me? It will probably not be perfect, but I hope that it will look OK.

    Isolate the 'new' person of the background.  This is possible through a variety of methods, such as the pen tool, the quick selection tool and refine edges, masking, etc..

    Then copy the isolated image drag the group photo and transform it into a smart object.  Allow you to scale proportionally on the same size as the people in the rest of the group with minimal loss of image quality.

    If you need more detailed instructions, Google is your friend.  There are many tutorials in each of these topics out there.  There are also "Photoshop Classroom in a Book" series.

    Teach you Photoshop ("step by step") beyond the scope of this forum.

  • To highlight two different faces in a group photo.

    Of your responses, I think you should start here: Basic AE

    It is almost impossible to understand AE by simply poking around in the user interface.

    If you have a group photo and you want to highlight the faces, you can add a solid gray, set the blending mode to multiplication, addition subtraction of two masks in mode for drilling holes in the solid so you can see the faces and then add the edge effect to draw a line around the circles. Then just animate the opacity.

    You could also get fancy and use a pair of circular layers created with the ellipse tool, a matte on an adjustment layer and a bunch of other things like turn whole image black and white, except for the two sides.

    You can also use an image that is twice the size of your comp, duplicate the layer of film twice, hide the two faces you want to show that they are each on a separate layer, Center the anchor points of each layer on the face and then step up both sides, so they are larger in the frame. Throw in something like shadow or edges to complete the design of the bevel.

    If you're new to AE, then nothing of what I have said is clear and well you need to start with the link in the first sentence of my response.

    To post a picture here, you can either use the toolbar at the top or just drag a picture from your desktop or the finder in the field of response on the forum.

  • Removal of old photos of the iPhone with iCloud photo library on

    I had a 6 128 GB iPhone for a couple of years and I bought a Macbook Pro about a year ago. I've been running iCloud photo library - but not Photostream - and without really look deep into the settings exactly, when I take pictures on my phone they usefully automatically found in the Photos app on my macbook. When I remove photos from my phone, they also seem to disappear too from my mac.

    Recently, in an arrangement of happy until I started running low on space on my phone. My question is, is my library in 'mirror' between my devices? IE if I say, delete all my photos from 2012 to 2014 my phone, they are removed from my macbook too? Obviously, it would be disastrous.

    I guess my question is, what are the best settings to have a situation where my photos will be driven by my phone to my laptop, but then stored on my laptop indefinitely?

    Any help is appreciated.

    When you use iCloud photo library, deletion of a photo or a video on any device that uses the service will remove this item in all of them and also to iCloud.

    I explore this now app Photos (worst name ever) and I wanted to import photos in Photos. The problem for me is I want to let the pictures where they already are.     Default is 'Copy photos to the photo library' enabled.  Then the pictures will do exactly that. Any Photo that you import pictures is copied in the photo library and managed by pictures. You can remove the original outside the library after you have verified that it imported properly.

    If you disable the option, pictures reference the file in its original location and does not copy it.

    This configuration is not recommended because you have to manage photos on your own. If you delete photos of Photos, you must delete the original outside yourself. You cannot use iCloud photo library with referenced files and if dot nee restore you from a backup library will need films to another drive, you will need to manually reconnect all originals. It is subject to errors.

    It will not work. Two Photos will ignore changes to Photosho or lose the connection to the original file. To use an external editor in pictures use extensions to change Photos photo editing panel. Let the pics to send the original to the external editor.

    I have recently 'inhiereted' the task of selling a computer Packard Bell multimedia c115 has Windows 95 installed. It has an Intel Penntium processor, 16 MB of ram (can be upgraded to 128) 1.2 MB hard drive 8 x cd rom etc (this info is on the sticker that is always on the computer of the time of purchase!)  A young man (30 years) have been requested this task that I care and provide services. He had this computer for more information, and then 2 years and I never saw in a working state until I took the bundle of joy home with me! Now my question is... What I do with it? It can even be put on the internet?

    He bought a newer dinosaur (2007 dell slimline I think with XP... Quite the upgrade lol) which actually functions and allows him to play his games and transfer photos from his digital camera, so he's happy. It is of course on a fixed income, so even if he has not paid an extreme amount of money for the new toy, he looks at me too get him funds for the ancient goddess... It doesent even not a USB or Ethernet port for gods sake! just a line telephone connection... Please help what am I too do?

    I'm trying to scan photos with Windows Photo Gallery.  When I scan, it is not scanner full size. It gives me just a small photo to work. It does not give me an option to choose "paper format" which seems like it should solve my problem.  Help!

    I was wondering... What are the dimensions in pixels of the scans? I think it would help if you increase the DPI of your scans to 600 300 or even... look for the custom settings button.

    Also... If the scan bed (large white area) is included in any of your scans... try to get a glimpse and you will have an option to drag a rectangle around the exact part of the photo you want to include in your analysis.

    Otherwise, how can I view all my photos still in windows photos. For some reason photos dated 2005 (and probably earlier, if there were) not displayed although thay appear separately if I select a specific date.

    In other words I don't like how the machine of this miserable, I just want to see all my pictures and videos in chronological order without a lot of tweaking. And if the photo library will not appear videos RealPlayer (format my videos are store automatically stored like - and how stop what happens if it's not good for the Photo Gallery?), how can I change the in a format that will work with the photo gallery?

  • Allow a standard user to install software designated as updates of Adobe reader with group policy

    Hello

    I have the users configured as standard users to prevent them from installing unapproved software.

    This causes problems with products such as java and adobe reader running automatic updates.  We then get cranky users because they are prompted to install the update and approval from the administrator.

    Is it possible with group policy to allow pre-approved software to install as update of adobe reader?
