Question about scanning of photos with Windows Photo Gallery.

I'm trying to scan photos with Windows Photo Gallery.  When I scan, it is not scanner full size. It gives me just a small photo to work. It does not give me an option to choose "paper format" which seems like it should solve my problem.  Help!

I was wondering... What are the dimensions in pixels of the scans? I think it would help if you increase the DPI of your scans to 600 300 or even... look for the custom settings button.

Also... If the scan bed (large white area) is included in any of your scans... try to get a glimpse and you will have an option to drag a rectangle around the exact part of the photo you want to include in your analysis.

Find much info on the scanning on the following site:

Recently bought a new laptop with Windows 8.1.  Finally managed to get my PhotosmartPlus B209 connected so it'll print and scan.  On my old laptop, when I scanned it pictures, there was a lot of options to choose from before that I did the actual analysis: several images, resize, rotate, resolution, color correction, to name a few.  Now, on the only option I have is the resolution and can only scan a whole page - not many images.  What Miss me?  What should I do to get all my previous options available?  Added note, I had to change my PhotoImpact 12 PhotoShop elements like my photo editor.

  • Recently bought a laptop computer; A few questions about the offer Upgrade to Windows 8

I have a few questions about the Upgrade of Windows 8 offer for new computers.  I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite S855-S5268 of amazon.com, which came with Windows 7 Home Premium.  Toshiba already has a beta version of drivers and utilities for Windows 8 for the S855 on their Web site.

    (1) I bought my laptop in July of this year, and I've not yet registered for 8 Windows Upgrade offer with Microsoft.  Am I still eligible to receive the upgrade, if I sign up soon?
    (2) if I buy the upgrade through this offer, I'll be able to download an ISO file so I can burn the installation media, or do I need to upgrade to Windows 7?
    (3) if I will be able to burn the installation media, I'll be able to erase my hard drive and do a clean install of Windows 8 (which I'd rather do, I have a lot of backups of my data).  I am aware that I would probably need to provide my product key Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OEM during the new installation, because it is an upgrade and not a full version; This isn't a big deal, because my Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OEM product key is stuck at the bottom of my laptop.
    (4) my current copy of Windows 7 is activated by seeing my BIOS (I have a traditional BIOS, not a UEFI).  If I had to switch to Windows 8 and decide then I'd rather back in Windows 7, for example, a few months later, I'll be able to do that (I burned recovery of Windows 7 with the Toshiba utility disks, which I did), and Windows 7 will continue to activate by seeing my BIOS, even after the installation (and later remove) Windows 8?
    Thank you very much!

Yes, the registration period is between June 2, 2012 to January 31, 2013.
    (2) if I buy the upgrade through this offer, I'll be able to download an ISO file so I can burn the installation media, or do I need to upgrade to Windows 7?

Yes, the Upgrade Wizard of Windows 8 will allow you to create a bootable DVD or you can grab the ESD file and save it.

Yes and there are better ways to reinstall Windows 8 without using the installation disc, you can use the reset and refresh.

These steps will take you through refreshing your PC:

    · Press the Windows key + C on your keyboard to show the charms (if you use a touch screen: touch the right edge of your screen and drag your finger to the left)

    · Click settings

    · Click change PC settings

    · Click general in the left column

    · Under refresh your PC without affecting your files, click Start

Then follow the instructions that will be provided on-screen to cool your PC.

As long as you have a recovery disk which you should create or use the construction in the recovery partition, Yes, it will self activate.

  • Epson dx3800 scaner works only with windows 7

    Hello
can someone help me, I have a laptop with windows 7 on it trying to put my epson dx3800 on it, but the scanner does not.

    Derek

    Hello

    ·         What version of Windows 7 use you?

    ·         Using Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit?

    ·         What happens when you try to scan?

Microsoft Windows supports Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) scanners and cameras. To check if you can use your scanner in this way, connect it to your computer and open Start > devices and printers if you see an icon for your scanner in the scanners and cameras window, scanning support is available. Double-click the scanner icon and follow the prompts on the screen.

    Method 1:

I suggest you to update the latest drivers from the manufacturer's Web site and check if it helps:

    http://www.Epson.co.UK/printers-and-all-in-ones/inkjet/Epson-Stylus-DX3800-series/drivers-support

    Method 2:

Also check if the services Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) is running or not.

    1) click Start and type services. MSC , and then tap on enter.

    (2) check if Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) is running if not.

    (3) right-click on the WIA service and select Properties.

    (4) change the startup type to Automatic , and then click apply.

    Hope this helps,

  • Cannot scan to laptop with Windows 8

I've been using a Canon MX870 on my previous laptop with XP, not printing problems and the scan to my laptop.

New laptop with windows 8, print from the laptop ok, will not scan to my laptop to the printer.

Download all software update from Canon.

Windows 8 does not recognize the MP Navigator, telling me that the driver is not installed.

    Thank you

    Hello Jessen,

Thank you for your prompt response and Advisor.

I have only just open the email, I lost track of it.

I managed to solve the problem for me, I'm not sure exactly what went right.

I updated my BIOS from the manufacturer, because it was a new computer.

    I then remove the drivers.

Remove the data cable to the printer.

I downloaded all gun pilots, supported software.

I clicked on the tab of the Windows 7 operating system, but the software is suppose to be ok for up to 8.

    Restarted.

Then he was allowed, can not have bad luck all the time.

I am editing with Windows Live Photo Gallery. Editing is fine, but later photos becomes no existing. The original is also gone. I have re downloaded and tried to change once again, and it's the same thing. I'm so frustrated. How can I solve this?

Too bad. I thought about it. Haha. But if you have this problem, too, here's what I did. I went to the properties of the folder and clicked around with the 'Hidden' and 'Read only' options until they came. Haha.

  • Question about particular processor working with my PC.

Basically, I have a 1200-07w eMachines and I'm sure that a particular processor will work with my pc but I wanted to check before I bought it. The I am wanting to upgrade to the processor is an AMD Athlon 64 X 2-5050. I know Athlon X 2 works, but I wanted to make sure that the Athlon 64 X 2 is compatible as well.

    Thank you

It would be better to check with eMachines Support technique http://emachines.com/support/options.html where they know their systems better than we do and should be able to answer your question.  We have no information on what components go into what systems so we can really help you.  The best that we can do is refer you to the center of Vista compatibility where this component may or may not be listed:http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-vista/ (I checked but couldn't find) but that would be only you say about compatibility with your version of Vista (if it is listed) - not if it will work with your machine - and you should take note that using the wrong processor can cause damage to both it and the motherboard and other features as well - so maybe SOME before you install.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • PIXMA MG6120 scanned in PDF with Windows 7, but not after that I went to Win 8.1/64

I have a printer Canon Pixma MG6120, who analyzed the documents properly to a pdf file in the past, but will not now.

The last time that I scanned a doc to PDF was July 1 when I was running Win 7 Home Premium with any driver was then installed.  The printer worked properly in all modes.

Then I bought a new desktop that came with Win 8.1/64.  I thought it would automatically update all my device drivers, and given that all print and copy on the gun functions work well, until yesterday, I had no reason to suspect that something was wrong.

Now when I try to scan a document to a pdf file, I find that I can't scan anything, in any format, even if the other functions of the printer are working very well.

I used Windows to search for updated drivers and note that I have the right pair.  But there are two cryptic messages on the window 'events' devices and printers when I see exactly which driver I have:

    • Driver management concluded the process to install the driver prncacla.inf_amd64_19fbb18075fefb90\prncacla.inf for the Instance ID of device USBPRINT\CANONMG6100_SERIES\7 & 47229F9 & 0 & USB001 with the following status: 0xE0000246.
    • Driver management concluded the process to install the driver mg6100p6.inf_amd64_7a61593f9c801b4c\mg6100p6.inf for the Instance ID of device USBPRINT\CANONMG6100_SERIES\7 & 47229F9 & 0 & USB001 with the following status: 0x0.

And I don't know how to determine exactly what driver or version I actually.

I do not remember having messed up the settings but I must have.  But I can't understand how to reset them so that I can scan anything, even in JPEG format.  Here is the sequence of messages that I get when I try.

    • I put the doc in the correct position on the screen.
    • I choose scan and then press 'black' to start scanning (or 'color'; it's okay)
    • It says "processing...". Please wait... »
    • nothing happens; the machine returns to the original screen I can only try again, and nothing past then is
    • I can so where I can click on "scan settings".  I always forward scanned docs on my desktop through my USB cord
    • I click on 'scan settings' and I get:
    • size: 8 1/2 x 11 (that's what I want)
    • format: PDF (which is what I want). There is an exclamation point and I can click on "error details" so I did that.  I get:
    • 'specified function not available with the current settings.  ' Change the following settings: Format.
    • To change the format of JPEG.  I click on 'black' and he said: ' treatment... please wait "and then he returned to the starting window as it did when I tried to scan to a file pdf. nothing works!
    • So I'll be back to where I can try to review the pdf settings, and only I can change all the others that choose JPEG, etc., instead of PDF, is something called 'unsharp mask' on or off.  Choose one or the other has no effect.  The printer will not at all, analyze a file pdf or something else.

    For example, nothing works.

I think that I don't really have the right driver, but Windows says I do.

    Help, please.

    THX.

    Tom

  • Question about Portege 2000 boot with Linux

    Hello world

My Portege 2000 PIII 750 MHz, 512 RAM, 20 GB is just driving me crazy. I would try to install Linux and downloaded some distributions to try it. By the way, I use an external CD/DVD player, with a 16-bit pc card connector cable. Starts the startup until the BIOS is involved, but when it gets to the pilots being involved, start crashes, with each distribution, except of course to win XP, with which he moved perfectly.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to proceed? I would really like something lighter than Windows XP Home edition on my machine. THX!

    Hello

I do not have this Portege, but I know that the recovery Toshiba (WXP) image contains the external driver for ODD and installation can be done without any problem.
