  It's more complicated than that.

  • Lightroom does not use the Camera Raw separate used by Photoshop plugin. Lightroom has the Camera Raw engine built into its code base. When you update to Lightroom, all Raw updates are included in Lightroom.
  • Compatibility of camera Raw plugin varies according to the version of Photoshop
    Camera Raw plugin and Adobe application compatibility
  • CS5 is only compatible with Camera Raw up to version 6.7.
  • CS6 is only compatible with Camera Raw up to version 9.1.1.
  • Only Cloud versions are compatible with current versions of Camera Raw.
  • To use Raw files in CS5 which require new versions of Camera Raw 6.7, to open the import dialog in Lightroom and "Copy as DNG". Open the DNG in CS5.

  Lightroom does not use plug in Camera Raw. So download the latest Camera Raw did nothing at all for you. The only way to update or upgrade Lightroom is to get the latest version. If you have Lightroom 4 then the latest version of Lightroom, you have no additional cost is Lightroom 4.4.1.   You need need ACR, 8.2 or higher to work with the 70 d then PSE12 or DNGC 8.2.

  If your camera is not supported in the list Ronald displayed, you will need to download the converter DNG - version 9.1 now and which allows you to convert your DNG files, before you can open them in Photoshop or see them in Bridge.

  I'm having trouble finding information on how to restore a previous version of Camera RAW. After you have uninstalled PS and Bridge, The Creative Cloud App shows still Camera RAW CC as installed and 'updated '; the uninstall option is grayed out. I don't see Camera RAW in my applications folder so I don't know if it is still on my machine.
