When I open a link in a new tab, it opens on a former tab?

If I have a tab open on the right side of the tab I'm, open new tabs that I select on the tab to the right. It is difficult to explain. I have tab "a" open and 'b' to the right tab. previously, if I opened a link tab "a" it would open next to 'a', between 'a' and 'b '. Now, when I open the new tab, tab 'b' is converted to the new link and I have to press the back button to return to the tab 'b '. New tabs are not open in a new tab, they just open in the next tab above.

You can check the browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent pref on the topic: config page.

You can open the topic: config page via the address bar.

Note that the links that specify a target window may behave differently when left clicked.

How to configure firefox to open outlook e-mail links in a new tab instead of having this "crush" a tab currently open? For example, that I have a tab open and consult the information about this. An email comes in via outlook and I want to read a confined link. When I click on the link, it will open in the tab I have currently open. I would like to open it in a new tab.

You mean Outlook, the standalone version and not the new iteration of Live (live.com) mail to Outlook.

I think that the default is to open in a new tab in the last active window, but you can check it out here and replace the default value:

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste link.o and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) double-click the preference browser.link.open_newwindow.override.external and change it to 3 and OK change

    The options are:

-1 = apply the setting in Options > general > tabs of external links (default)
3 = open external links in a new tab in the last active window
2 = open external links in a new window
1 = open external links in the last active tab replaces the current page

  • 'Open the link in a new tab' does not work. I tried with all disabled add-ons and it still does not work.

When I right-click a link and select 'open in a new tab' and 'opens in a new window', nothing happens. In addition, nothing happens when I type a query in the search bar and press ENTER. I tried to restart firefox in safe mode and disabling all add-ons, but the problems continue.

The setting in "tools > Options > tabs: open new windows in a new tab instead" is for links that specify a target window (for example, target = _blank) to open the link.
This option allows to divert these links into a new tab instead of a new window.
Links that do not specify a target always open in the current tab, unless you redefine that with a middle-click or Ctrl (Mac: Cmd) left click (new tab) or a left click UPDATE (new window) or via the context menu.

You can check if you have the XML files including Google's default search engine in the browser\searchplugins file in the Firefox program folder.

If this isn't the case, then you need to reinstall Firefox.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:

Firefox will rebuild the file search.json from the default search engines in the folder "browser\searchplugins" in the Firefox program folder and the searchplugins folder in the Firefox profile folder.

  • Since Google Inbox or Gmail on Mac OS x using command-click to open a link in a new tab incorrectly brings this new tab to the front.

Same action on any other site works very well and opens a new page in a new tab without bringing it to the front. You are looking for if there is a setting that needs to be adjusted or if it's something weird with functioning Google Inbox and Gmail. Would love to get this sort. Thank you!

I think the address of other preferences, named in a similar way, most of the other situations:

    • browser.tabs.loadInBackground = > when you open a regular link in a new tab using Ctrl + click (or right click > open in a new tab)

      • default = true, do not have the new active tab
      • In the page Options dialog box, this is controlled by him "when I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately" setting.
    • Browser.Tabs.Load InBackground ofdiversion = > when divert you a new window generated by script in a new tab using Ctrl + click

      • default = false, activate the new tab
    • Browser.Tabs.LoadFavoritesInBackground = > when you load a bookmark in a new tab using Ctrl + click (or right click > open in a new tab)

      • default = false, activate the new tab
  • You want to open links in a new tab, not a new window.

When using a mouse, I know I can middle-click (wheel) and I'm clicking on the link will open in a new tab. I also know that I can drag this link to the sign on the tabs bar + and it will open. But when you use the keyboard only, when I want to open a Web page link in a new tab, it always opens in a new window, why?

I noticed when looking at the support of Mozilla that hit any box opens in a new tab (this is the effect I want) why is it not the case on other Web pages?

I can answer my own question here, but would it be the site of "NewsNow" one which is causing my problem?

As I wrote above, that the tabs setting only applies to links that have a specified target window.
You can click on the link and the code in the Inspector.

If there is a button 'ev' Annex then, it means that JavaScript events are related to the link.

  • c 36. will not open the link in a new tab, opens the tab I'm on

by clicking on a link or a bookmark will not open a new tab, it opens on the tab I'm already. Have already tried tools/options/tabs/check the windows open again in a new tab instead. It does not work.

Hi, Firefox doesn't. You need to right click > open link in a new tab. Otherwise, click the mouse wheel. Or, hold down the Ctrl key when you click on the left.

There are also modules such as Tab Mix Plus,or bookmarks only, try to open bookmarks in new tab.

    Hope that helps.

  • "Open link in a new tab - switch to him immediately" cannot be disabled

When I left click on a link, FF 14.01 will switch to the new tab immediately. When I right click and "Open link in a new tab" to say, FF will immediately switch. I've done all the obvious things in tools/options and also restore the default FF State and turned off all the modules and extensions. Before I do a complete uninstall/reinstall to see if it works, any other ideas?
Is there an entry in the register of windows 7 that would force FF to always toggle the tab new left click on a link? I ask this because I suspect that the problem might be related to malware. The system is finished clean now, if this isn't the problem.

Maybe it's a Yahoo site setting.

Google has something similar in Google search that you open through the gear icon on the Google results page.

  • Change the default color of Firefox opening links in a new tab

I use stylish addon for Firefox with a dark default css. I also changed the default window colors in the Windows registry. This changed the subject: white page to a dark color. But when I open a link in a new tab before the page is loaded, Firefox displays a blank page with a white background. I wonder how to change the white color to another.

  • Open the link in a new tab next to the original tab?

I noticed since the update to FF12 that now when I click to get "Open link in a new tab", the new tab opens on the far right of my tabs, rather than next to the tab, I clicked, as he did in FF3.6. Is it possible to operate the old way?

    Thank you
    Ellen

On my XP system, new tabs open next to the current tab with these settings

    • the pref browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent set to false
    • in Options of Tab Mix Plus, events > new tabs, I checked "open tabs again beside the current."

  • Than return the behavior of Firefox to focus on a new tab empty? Not the same as opening a link in a new tab.

In previous versions of Firefox, when I open a new empty tab by CTRL-T or by clicking on the 'more' button on the tab bar, Firefox would focus on the new tab. This is not the case with Firefox 11, but I liked this behavior and want to get it back.

It seems to be different from opening a link in a new tab, which, at least for me, opened without getting the focus (I deselected the option to immediately go to the preferences of some time back, but the new tab behavior remained). I searched through the preferences and have played with the options in the tab, but empty came. Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Thank you!

As far as I can tell, it is still the default behavior and is not affected by preferences. Is one of your extensions may cause this problem. Go to Firefox > customize > addons and try to disable tabs in impact or the behavior tab.
